Valid points, but then again, I don't think people who don't cycle will comprehend the message of this video
that is so true
it's ok. Will keep trying
@@carlovillarica What I mean is people who dont cycle dont get it just like the title but then again cycling is enjoyable especially if budol hahaha
I ride to commute, to exercise, to go on long rides. As much as possible I’d like to bike instead of drive, unless I really need to use the car. Cycling has become a part of my daily life and a hobby as well, which sometimes draws funny looks from people who don’t really bike. 😅 “Really you just ride your bike x amount kilometers? That’s so far away.” (Probably just 5km 😬)
ya most people don't get it. They are missing out!
"It's too hot to cycle" 😂 that one cracked me up! I went for a ride last night and it was 25⁰F/-4⁰C I love your perspectives man
hahaha that's why I have to caveat that I'm in the Philippines
i feel called out by the "budol culture" lol but i appreciate the reminder! all of us as cyclists started from somewhere. i used to be happy with a 10 kilometer ride to the market. then a 20-kilometer ride to the city district. then the 50-km ride na may ahon where i saw spots. i got better and better, and it was the gradual stretching of the limits that brought me to where i am now.
but we need to remember our roots. and pass on that experience forward so we can welcome them into the community with our open, unevenly tanned arms.
hahaha thanks for sharing! To be fair, some people respond well to budol culture. But for more and more people to get into cycling, it's something I personally try to avoid. Although I'm sure I've brought people to some really really tough rides before. haha
Even "Rice" uses the road.
haha true!
Very good points. Its like playing tetris around here in Manila, thats why i ride around 3am in the morning😂
Wow! tHAt's early lol
woohoo cameo at 5:07
hahaha
Currently living in the UK and although its cycling infrastructure is not as good as the Netherlands or Denmark, its good enough for most people who cycle at the moment to work, school and even grocery shopping. By complimenting that with public transport and walkable towns, I managed to stay car free til now and probably remain that way for the foreseeable future. Also, the argument about bikes being expensive is ridiculous since
1) most Dutch cyclists are commuters and not sports hobbyist who own cheap single speed (or 3-speed) beater bikes. Filipinos can easily get a decent bike from one of those Japanese Surplus shops.
2) the cost of car ownership is far more expensive compared to a bike that it significantly decreases a person's disposable income and at worst even bankruptcy, not mentioning other externalities with car centric transportation like the ones you mentioned.
Yeah, try paying for a Cooper S clutch replacement and then cry about bike prices.
@@TimpBizkit ikr? lol
i hear you! I had to have my air-conditioning replaced once and I was shocked!
@@carlovillarica a viable cycling infrastructure combined with great public transit system will free us from the hassle of car ownership and help us save a ton of money. It's also one of the cheapest infrastructure the gov't can spend on (along with pedestrian lanes of course) that it just make sense to build them ASAP.
so true. I wish the PH government read my comments section hahah@@rodjayoma7085
I agree kaayo ani imo post Carl, naa unta facebook version sa video para ako mashare ❤
truth, unfortunately naa gyud sa Facebook ang target demographic para ani nga dapat maka dungog
hahah ok ra na. Lisud na post everywhere
Carlo, do you use a cycling computer, if so which one? How do you keep track and plan for all your rides?
i currently use a coospo, but I will likely change it soon bec it doesn't have any navigation features. IF all you need is to keep track of the rides, then there are a ton of cheap options available.
Being sedentary is more dangerous than going out there cycling. I'd rather be with my cycling friends and have a good time while getting a good workout. Don't mind these people who say your sport is dangerous. There's a certain risk in any activity. However it becomes safer when you know how to deal with it. I both cycle to work and cycle for leisure. It's a means of transport as well as exercise. Couch potatoes who feel that that they're safe at home don't know the fact that inactivity can lead to a whole lot of health problems. Cheers!
so true!
Yes, i agree with you. My mom even wanted me to stop cycling because it's TOO DANGEROUS OR ITS HARMING ME. Shes just too scared of me being injured because of cycling.
tell her it's only dangerous because of drivers.
@benedicvelasco nah. Id argue with her that this is for my fitness
hahah you'd be surprised how many grown ass men I know don't cycle bec their wives don't want them to
I agree on every single point! Cheers to Cycling :-)
Thanks for watching!
See you in Busay, lods!
see you bai!
What you have said are definetly true..
Thanks for watching!
Word. Everything you said.
Thanks for watching!
People who don’t want to exercise will always have excuses. 🙂
true!
But to be fair, I get the comment about PH being too hot to cycle. I think that comes from people who maybe considered biking to work and not really for leisure.
It's kinda true. I am both a leisure cyclist and a bike-to-work cyclist. My route to work is from Marikina to Makati, around 19 kms one way. Even if I leave the house at 5:30 AM, i still sweat quite a bit. Just sucks that my office doesnt really have the infrastructure to encourage cycling to work. We have no showers, etc.
that's true. I forgot to think about it from a commuter's perspective. IT can be hot. Hopefully in the future, there will be more and more infrastructure to make it more comfortable. Like trees, shade, parking, etc.
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive
the lyrics are escaping me now haha resisting the urge to google it
I love cycling and my bike. 😎
Not a bad thing to love
just wait till the prices of petrol goes up tremendously worldwide
true!
Very wll said idol
Thanks for watching!
cars are nuisance on the roads
causes thousands of deaths very month pero lax pa din ang regulation
so true. Oh well. I'm gonna keep trying to fight the good fight
That intro HAHA
Nailed this video 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching!
E-trykes ang tunay na nuisance lately. Same size sa tricycle pero mas mabagal pa sa bike lagi pang nasa fast lane.
The roads are for EVERYONE.
"Cycling makes you infertile (both men and women)" -- according to some tita. Hahaha!
oh i forgot about that! hahaha Man. I wish I thought of that for the video. I can attest that this is not true. My third son is 4 months old and prior I was cycling a TON! hahaha
Is it fair to distinguish "cyclists", those who have road/gravel bikes and wear those tight cycling clothes, with commuters who bike?
Maybe?
