    The PB meat is simmilar to Tilapia (they're from the same family Cichilidae). In Brazil, a pb of this size usually is cooked in deep fried oil. We take out the guts, cut from the upper back down to the belly in sizes of about 2 inches. Salt and pepper, then wheat flour-> egg->flour again...and then fry it. We make fillet from the bigger ones or we grill it entirely on charcoal grill(of course, w/o guts) after some ours in a seasoned sauce (olive oil, lemon, parsley and chive, salt, black pepper).

    Only salt and pepper when you cook something. Oregano will leave a bitter taste when cooked. You can marinate the fish with olive oil and oregano . Much better option.

    The reason it tastes like tilapia I believe is because peacock bass are not actually in the bass family but are in the chiclid family and I'm pretty sure tilapia are part of that too.

    Instead of cutting the fillets into nuggets, you should just season the whole fillet with your choice of seasoning and cook the fillet whole, it keeps the meat more tender and most and you don't have to keep flipping lots of pieces, just cook it 3-4 mins one side, flip it once and cook it another 3-4 minuets and it's done

      NSB Fishing not trying to be rude but why so concerned on if he eats large mouth bass or not? I understand catch and release and how it benefits the fish but nothing wrong with someone going out and catching a few fish for supper. Just my opinion on the issue

    • @evindavis4299
      @evindavis4299 7 лет назад

      I understand why people eat bass, but I don't necessarily support it. It's a sport fish unlike bream, catfish, etc. (BTW these fish taste way better than bass from what I have heard, but I guess I wouldn't know since I have never eaten bass lol.) I feel like more people enjoy the experience of actually catching bass because it is much more of a challenge than catfish or bream. It's kind of weird but I have a soft spot for seeing bass get killed unlike other fish. Every once in a blue moon I will accidentally kill a bass because I hooked them bad and they bleed out, and it actually makes me feel awful. I just don't like the idea of eating bass, don't see why people don't just eat the tastier fish.

    • @louisianaoutdoors9286
      @louisianaoutdoors9286 7 лет назад +3

      I'll just start by saying I appreciate the mature reply. When I bass fish it's mostly just for the excitement of setting hook and fighting the fish, but I'll keep a few every now and then to eat. Personally I'd rather eat a fish or animal I harvested myself from fishing or hunting just cause I know it lived in wild instead of in a farm house or in a fishery somewhere. I just hate seeing someone catch or kill any animal and waste the meat gives everyone who enjoys the sport a bad name.
