      It certainly was and there were points where it was actually more popular. One of the reasons why the Spanish Mafia AKA dorna wanted to buy Flammini (sp?) Brothers out was to eliminate the threat. And that's why soon as they took over they dumbed the series down. I can't stand dorna they are a bunch of Cock suckers.

    • @liamhayes687
      @liamhayes687 5 лет назад +11

      @@archetypex65 At World Superbikes peak in the late 90s and early 2000s the superbikes actually started beating 500GP lap records so people started to believe WSBK was the premier bike championship since it was more exciting and in some cases faster. Then of course Dorna got involved and slowed the superbikes down. If the Superbikes didn't have so many restrictions it could be a lot more popular than it is today

      I watched Superbikes in those days because the 2 stroke GP machines sounded shit.

I go out on my RC45 and I still blow bikes away that are a lot bigger CC's it's also to do with the rider don't forget that...👍🏻👍🏻

    does anyone know who the announcers are on this? I think the main guy announced the 2001 ulster gp. His enthusiasm is very fun to listen to. The announcers here in the US tend to talk too much and are little too buttoned down, essentially extremely boring. Cheers!!

      Keith Heuwen and Julian Ryder - the two excitable anoraks. For me, Jamie Whitham's commentary is way better. An unhinged racer, funny as fuck, typical Yorkshireman. A British icon. I thoroughly recommend his live shows, especially this one... ruclips.net/video/ec3Mdl03mPg/видео.html
