WSBK is based on street legal bikes you can buy. MOTOGP is like F1; the BEST technology and the BEST power/weight ratio. The technology trickles down from GP, eventually down to production road bikes ie. ABS,T/C, carbon fibre, Fuel injection etc. pretty simple really.
As someone who enjoy WRC, WSBK is like WRC. WRC stated that the manufacturer must sell this numbers of cars model (I forgot how many) to join WRC. Then you can modify and tune it based on regulations. That's why you can buy any WRC car.
Well done. Possible analogy ~ Most countries have saloon car racing. Here in Australia, we have V8 Supercars, in Germany they have DTM, the Brits have some front wheel drive buzz-boxes ~ anyway. Then you have Formula One. F1 is a prototype series of high end racing cars, intended for an elite world championship of drivers. It is more or less the highest level of four wheel competition. The Formula One world driver's champion is pretty widely recognised, as the best driver in the world. Nobody mass produces formula one cars. Touring cars are in some ways, purpose built racing cars that look like a road-going donor car, and to some extent, they're hotted up road-cars. Running a touring car team is not cheap, but it costs about 1/10th what running a competitive formula one team does. There is a very close analogy between MotoGP and Formula One, and between Touring Cars and SuperBikes. It is a widely held opinion the standard fo riders in WSBK is one step down from the standard in MotoGP ~ how true that is, it's a little hard to say. Having any kind of truly valid comparison, is almost impossible. Many drivers who have had a full & successful career in some other class, go to NASCAR to retire. Many MotoGP riders, drop down to WSBK when they're not good enough or wanted enough to stay in MotoGP. Remy Gardner got kick out of MotoGP and ended up in WSBK. Jack Miller is looking down the barrel of the same fate. If Mark Webber and Danial Ricciardo and Jack and Remi went to the same BBQ, I hope they didn't invite any loud-mouth journalists. That would show insufficient professionalism on a national basis. Anything that suggested a pattern of behaviour towards Australians, by RedBull, is obviously not professional.

WSBK bikes are not really close to production bikes. They change almost everything and end up costing several times more than a production bike. As you mentioned, a WSBK bike costs 250-300k dollars. A production bike will cost around 30k dollars...
However it is still production, not prototype racing. The race bike still has to appear like the production bike available for public sale, even limited edition homologation variants [V4R, R1M, CBR-1000RR-R SP, ZX-10RR] The research and development costs are sunk into the production variants with additional effort especially testing for the homologation race specials. However the race team doesn't get the factory engineers on site like MotoGP. Crew Chiefs, Suspensions Specialist, Data Logging and expert Mech Eng all add up to a significant cost allocated to each production race bike, along with a significant parts inventory and transport/facilities people too. Starting with a homologation production bike at $50k changing the exhaust, suspension and brakes for race parts then going testing pre-season is soon going to take $250k along with the crash damage.
Agree. People say wsbk are production bike as if all you need to do is put on some light and stand thats it. Read to write on road. Lol. No They literally take apart the whole motorcycle. Rewire the whole system, change the engine part, make specific parts that's aren't available to public. They're not just tuned in bike. Remember WSBK also have direct factory support team too.
No ones commented on it yet so i'll be that guy... Its pronounced " ah crop o vich " not "akra po vick" (we all say or have said it wrong, myself included for years, unless you're Slovenian or just know)
ban aero from motoGP please, it ruined F1 and is now ruining motoGP as well we as audience don't care about a 2 seconds difference per lap, we wanna see the riders battling each other on corners, sliding and and drifting around trying their hardest to get an edge on their competitor
I have found that some heavier bikes, handle really well . Some light bikes, can feel “skittish” in corners. And can give very “vague” “feedback” So the slightly heavier WSB machines, can make up time, by being easier to ride. In my view? Machines can be too lightweight, and have too much power, for the frame to handle?
And then you have the Northwest 200, Cookstown 100, Macau GP and of course the peerless Isle of Man TT.... None of which will have a MotoGP rider racing🤔🤔🤔 ( nor a WSBK rider either tho i may be mistaken?
WSBK is far more fun to watch bc the rider still matters like Toprak riding the underpowered yamaha last year where motogp is becoming a lot like F1 where whos got the better bike is far more likely to win.. = boring as hell to watch

Imagine in F1 if Alpha Tauri had near identical cars to Red Bull... Or if there were more Ferraris/Mercs on the grid... maybe it would be better... In MotoGP satellite teams can outperform Factory teams based on riders alone
MotoGP doesn't do Imola.
Is that Vanessa Guerra at first ??
One thing in common is honda has the worst bike in both motogp and wsbk lolol
Always prefurred WSB, tuned up real bikes that you can buy. MotoGP was always 500 2-stroke and personally I dont think they should have been able to switch to 4-stroke.
wish we had a format called "Super Stock" As everything about the bike is stock 100%. No changes allowed. Pure rider skill and manufacturing engineering. None of these bikes from motoGP or WSBk can really be purchased and is not even close to representing why people are able to buy.
So ducati would still be on top? Ducati rn has the top track bike that comes stock. The v4 series are statistcly the best track bike you can buy unless you buy another bike and just upgrade it.
Motogp in imola?
MotoGP limited to 81mm bore to get their 1000cc. This is a significant restriction and means the rev limit and thus power levels are comparable
isle of man TT on the corner😂😂😂
TY 👍
What about Donington park wsbk and MotoGP are sharing the Donington park
Awesome
Can any beat the thrill of the TT
Another big difference that might be coming is the same company that bought F1 is bidding for MotoGP. It'll be a damn shame if the sale goes through
Sadly hardly any fans at wsb= no atmosphere, great for tv though
0:47 MotoGP doesn't race on IMOLA.
After the days of Rossi, like he said that MotoGP is all about the technology but not the rider, yes i agreed nowadays i hardly watch it, ooo how i enjoy those days when the doctor shows his skill, please promote the SBK where you can buy the machine which you watch
Lol. No
They literally take apart the whole motorcycle. Rewire the whole system, change the engine part, make specific parts that's aren't available to public.
They're not just tuned in bike. Remember WSBK also have direct factory support team too.
300 hp is insane for a bike 😮😮😮
No ones commented on it yet so i'll be that guy...
Its pronounced
" ah crop o vich "
not "akra po vick"
(we all say or have said it wrong, myself included for years, unless you're Slovenian or just know)
Biggest difference? SBK has Toprak!😊😊😊
The difference on both of them is the price of bikes.
İt woul be great to see Suzuki KTM augusta in wsbk😊
you forgot how wsbk has a wonderful community and has more camaraderie than moto gp ever had
Alvaro Bautista 🇪🇸💪
Portimão too
The biggest difference is VR46
IF Rossi was in SBK instead of motogp the popularity could be in WSBK favor
That's why Biaggi run to WSBK to win somthing again after being battered by VR46 in MotoGP for years
Or maybe not, since motogp had lager following and better marketing than wsbk back then.
I want 500cc two strokes back. And dump all the electronic learner wheels.
If you look back at how spread out the racing was then, with riders being lapped. It was spectacular, but racing is closer now.
both motogp and sbk were most interesting prior to winglets...just watch any race without having it, overtaking galore!
WorldSBK >>>>>>>>>>>>
ban aero from motoGP please, it ruined F1 and is now ruining motoGP as well
we as audience don't care about a 2 seconds difference per lap, we wanna see the riders battling each other on corners, sliding and and drifting around trying their hardest to get an edge on their competitor
Aero ruined f1 🤓👆
$300,000, $1,000,000, no pressure
MotoGP and WSBK are governed by FIM not FIA
Lol...the pronunciation of Imola
I do wish SBK stuck with 750's.
WSBK is more exciting to watch.
WSBK is far more fun to watch bc the rider still matters like Toprak riding the underpowered yamaha last year where motogp is becoming a lot like F1 where whos got the better bike is far more likely to win.. = boring as hell to watch
Ducati also just has better riders. They consistently have been signing top riders from other company's. Like they picked up Marquez so now he bout to go crazy again but this time with ducati
@@Arrow12212 marc couldnt do anything on a honda anymore thats why he left! moto gp will soon be getting slower then it will be a bit boring now mate!
MotoGP everthing is x10
BSB is more entertaining then both
Isle of man???
Moto gp has just turned into an engineering showcase. Wsbk is better.
for short, it is about "regulation"
Shame Milestone just reskinned the Moto GP game to make SBK22
Otho Underpass
Imola? Uhh, no
Wsbk has toprak, motogp does not (yet)!
MotoGP teams don't have equal electronics Yamaha is lagging behind
MotoGP doesn't go to Imola.
Two more staggering differences:
1. MotoGP bikes became as ugly as
2. WorldSBK is more fun to watch
Bonus: *sprint races .... pf, they could spare us
The fact you don’t know that WSBK runs 3 races a weekend (36 races) tells me you shouldn’t be talking on this subject.
Ee MOH la?
