He apologizes to you?! Just broke up with my boyfriend because he NEVER apologizes. Or rather, he broke up with me. Leave voice notes!! They are so fun! I do them all the time. Try with your friends first! Your boyfriend will love it. 😊
You can tell so much about someone by their voice, both good and bad. Even writing long emails is better than texting especially if you write well. In the old days people wrote love letters, a lost art
I am dying to write a detailed love letter…. But I’m scared of how it would be received. I’m not afraid to say the things I want to, I’m afraid that he’ll feel pressured by it. And asking him won’t do any good.

My LDR and I do this when the other is having a bad day, it is a great mood lifter!! I've only met him 4 times in person, but we have a very strong connection for over a year now. We both understand we still may not know each other completely, but we are also on the track to getting that done. It is not easy, especially when you've already experienced dishonesty and/or cheating, we have our jealous arguments. But we work through it, and we get better. He's really a very important part of my every day life.
I met my boyfriend the last day he was in Vietnam and had to fly back to his country the next day, but we exchanged facebook. And on the very next day, he called me. And since then, we have been talking to each other every day for the past 485 days 😊 we have been in LDR for 1 year and a half now. He always manages to voice call/video call me once a day or will drop me lots of messages on those days he is busy or on trips. He came visit me in Vietnam 5 months ago and we strengthened our relationship. A lot of my friends wondered how we could maintain a LDR for that long and talk to eachother ~1-3 hours a day without being bored. I told them "only boring people have boring life, my boyfriend and I are fun enough for eachother"
Hi Matthew. Thanks for this brilliant idea! I’ve been texting with a guy, for quite some time. Great exchanges, not getting in to the boring stages, yet. But, I was hoping he was finally going to ask me for that first date. Or call me, we had not even spoken on the phone yet. So I took your advice and I out of the blue instead of another text, send him a voice mail, starting with a silly personally crafted to our interactions, a knock, knock joke (yeah I know), and telling him I was just thinking of him, and hope his day was going great. Damn! It worked like magic! Our relationship just went to a whole other level! He called! He asked me on that date! He refers to this voice mail now all the time, he really loved it. I became real, and I stood out. Thanks Matthew! ☺️🤗
I don't know why this is not at least mentioned it every single comment but... This video is suuuuuuuch a braingasm! I looooooooove the metaphore with the mute movie and then breaking the convention in the end when they're on the street and find they look fantastic! 😂😂😂 I love how thought through and artistic your videos are when you decide to take them on this level, it's such a celebration of class and wittiness!
I remember first time I sent him voice message (we haven't met yet), his reaction was: "your voice! ✨". I'm still doing it time to time and also video messages and pictures, to keep myself "real" for him, it works perfectly 😍
I also love sending physical letter for the same reason. It open more senses (I always vaporize some "pschiit" of my parfume on the letter, so when she get the letter, my parfume will float in the in all flat, sometimes for few days). It stand out of the crowd. And letter leave more space to write long message, and the impossibility to erase/change make it more spontaneous and give more place for our humanity.
Been talking to this guy for months now and he keeps saying he likes me but all those things were in chat. Don't fool yourself, man. You hit a real one this time.
I had been texting and video chatting for about two weeks with a guy I met online. Everything seemed to be going well, especially our last video chat. Then the next day, he didnt text me all day. Later that night I asked (by text) how his day had been, and he didnt seem to want to talk. The next day, too. I asked if he'd want to video chat over the weekend and he was like "well, I'm busy these days, maybe next week." I asked if I had done something wrong, and he said no, he just wanted to take a step back. I really dont get what happened. We had such good calls and I thought we were getting kind of close. Then he just straight up ghosts me. Does anyone know what the hell went wrong?
20’s throwback garb is epic 😄 Also, the standout is the 🔑, when a guy messages 1st and says, “hey” “hi” or “hello” without anything else, I usually don’t even respond. At least include my name and a question? Or crack joke, that definitely gets my attention. This convo is a 2-way street... let’s use our imagination and tell a story together 💝
3:06 had me ugly laughing 😂 This is so simple yet so effective. Just sent a voice note to someone because this was just so charming to watch, even though I've been too shy to share my voice to the person I've been pursuing. Thanks Matthew!
Yay it's Jesse!! Definitely do not go overboard with the voice notes, a friend of mine *only* communicated in voice notes and it got annoying as I wasnt always able to listen to them (reading a text in the office is ok, having someone voice blaring out of your phone... not so much.)
Voice messaging is awesome! You can have longer conversations (although it gets to the point where you just need to phone them) and it's something a couple close friends and I do all the time... Thanks Matthew ❤️
Love this video, perfect timing. I just had an ex boyfriend send me a voice message today to re-connect funny enough. I am on a dating app and a guy in Germany came across me, I am in Canada. We seem to have a really good connection. Neither of us as concerned about the distance, both of us would be prepared to do a long distance thing. I have previously dated someone across the world (we did not break up bc of distance). The voice message is definitely something I will use to bring more emotion to our discussions. Thank you Matt. Wish me luck.
I'm forever using voice notes on WhatsApp / Instagram/ Snapchat. I spend a good amount of time learning from this channel, but its refreshing to know that I'm also doing some right things naturally 😉. Thanks for the confidence boost!
LOL I'm so glad I'm truly focused on me and building my internal joy and hobbies now, not trying to force some relationship during a crazy time like this. ESPECIALLY with what's out on the market...
No, no and no. I hate voicemail. It catches me off guard: can I still reply with a text? Or they expect me to send them a voicemail? But I don't like voicemail! It's weird when it comes from people you haven't met in person. You wanna know what my voice sounds like ? Call me.
I started sending these more over the past year, total different vibe in the relations with friends. So in the past month i made them part of dating...well, game changer! I guess we'll see, cause the graduation to phone dates and even video dates have been amazing in this stay at home time
Matt u re an Inspiration for my worklife and i keep watching cause its more then just dating advices here. U help people change theier lifestyle and live an extraordinary life beyond believe! Thanks to u and your co workers for this amazing work! Love from Berlin
This is excellent advice, however, I would prefer he call from the beginning to ask her how her day was . Or at the very least lead the conversation with a voice text .

You're completely spot on but at the same time is scary as hell at the beginning 😂 maybe after a date I would totally do it, it makes all the difference and would love it too
Hey Mat, well done for addressing current problems. Also well done for highlighting the obvious about this. Voice messages have been there for a while but not everyone uses them and they don't think of what you describe behind it. Tbh I have been aware of what you said for a while, difficult to explain it to people though, you do it very well, and wish this video is seen by everyone.... Well done as usual. Also, best of luck in dealing with Coronavirus in the US and I understand your dilemma re travelling to London or not at the start, I have been in a similar situation. I'm on your team. Take care. Keep going
Thanks, Matthew! I've been single since last year. I think it's about time for me to meet new people and fall in love again. I really like this Aussie guy, we met on a dating app, just been texting for days... I might give this a try. Just the right advice at the right time! 😊
I used to love leaving voice messages for my ex-boyfriend. I'd sing songs, but change the lyrics to suit us, fun stuff like that. However, we broke up a few hours ago because of his inability to apologize for ANYTHING EVER. I just couldn't take it anymore. He was wonderful in many ways, but after 6 years, I was completely fed up with his condescending, I'm always right attitude. He was utterly rude and horrid to me 4 days ago, and I waited for him to apologize. Nothing. Today I told him how I felt. How I ignored it before, but could no longer do it. I asked for the apology I deserved. He told me he really didn't think I deserved an apology, and that I was being mean, attacking him, and acting like a Pitbull. (I thought I deserved another apology for that!) He acted liked he was the injured party, as usual, saying, "I do so many wonderful things for you, and you make a big deal out of something that I really don't think you deserve an apology for." I told him I was hurt, and that should mean something to him. He said, " I don't feel I owe you an apology, so I won't waste your time anymore. Take care. " AAAUUUUGGHH!!!! I am so ashamed I wasted 6 years of my life on this person. Matthew's video last week about the color's really had an impact on me. Thanks, Matt, for snapping me out of it. Am I crazy? Sorry this was so long. I'm determined to get my value back!!
Hey, I just wanted to say that I understand why you are so hurt, but actually I have forbidden the use of "I'm sorry" or "I apologise" for me and my boyfriend a few months ago. Of course, your boyfriend may be far from my perceptions and I'm not taking sides. I have only decided that I will do the things in a way that I won't regret and yes, when I hurt unintentionally someone I feel bad, but this was my decision and the important thing for me is to take a note for the future, learn from my mistake. And I hope you'll get the best out of that break up and still live with love and gratitude in your heart.
Haha I just got out of a 2 month thing and now suddenly don't feel bad about it. I was putting in effort to leave voice messages, tell funny stories properly while on lockdown and not just send bland texts. He claimed to be interested but would just write "cool haha" almost every time until I had to say something about it! I got fed up of feeling like nothing based on his responses to my effort, just wasn't getting it back. I wish more men would reflect on their own actions instead of just how they feel inside when they do nothing outside to show affection! (Obviously not all guys, but this one!)
Its not just a ridiculous part of the dating scene. Even close friends and some people of my family do not call anymore, everybody is texting-it gets massively on my nerves. I refused to install WhatsApp, you can imagine how people react: like I have a massive personality disorder because they cannot connect with me anymore…Has everybody gone nuts? What about calling? But they seem to have a stalking feeling if they call someone: direct human contact, oh my goodness!
Wow!! The Talented Jameson Jordan everbody! What a phenomenal video and the voice message is different too what a way to mix things up. You'll nailed it, hope to see more videos done like this. Thanks Jameson! 😊👏👏👏👏❤
Hey Matthew! This video is great and I just happened to have started doing this myself a couple weeks ago and it’s going really well! We have talked A LOT on the phone, on video call dates etc. and are now at the stage of, if we had been meeting in person, defining our dating as a relationship but the hurdle of meeting in person is still there and so is lockdown! I would love to hear any advice or videos you have on what you would recommend for when a dating experience reaches this point and we are no long able to progress! Thanks so much, you’ve been such a massive help to me for so many things! Stay safe
The most funny part was when the guy said-- a voice in the telephone.. So real and funny. Also wish we could be free like this again like the end #lockdown
I have tried it, but that doesn't really work either if there is no real interest from the other person to get to know you personally. And if He or she is Sending voice messages to you this happens with everyone Else they might be talking to. But this is just my experience...🤷♀️
You are correct imo The best thing to do in normal times is just meet as soon as possible and go on a date. If the two people like each other it can go from there. If either side isn't into it it can end there. Everything sorted out in a 20 mins coffee or cocktail (if either side isn't feeling it) or a date that lasts hours and hours if both sides are enjoying each other company
I get what you are saying. I am a HUGE introvert, I HATE FaceTiming and I HATE phone calls, but voice messages are different. Also because it's just as texting, but without all that overthinking ("Should I add an emoji? Exclamation point? Damn, that's a typo!"). Voice messages are more spontaneous, and spontaneity is the key to a good communication
As a fellow introvert (and overthinker), I totally agree that texting has strong advantages ! I get to have time to type out precisely what I want to say (my texts are far more interesting than the examples in the video if I may say so), the person doesn't have to bring their phone to their ear if the setting isn't convenient for it, and the weird competition he brings up in the video... it won't motivate me to modify how I prefer to do things, at all, if someone has their attention given in a shallow way to a large number of women, just to be ""above the rest"". It's just weird.
I'm an introvert and on the contrary I hate texting more than voice chat communcation. Texting is tedious, it gets boring and I don't really feel "accompanied" by the person I'm texting with. Discord voice chats are so more emotionally engaging and fun.
I'm an Introvert and so is my bestie. We can (and have) chatted on Skype for up to 8 hours per video phone call. It really depends if I am comfortable with who I'm speaking with.
I’ve done long distance relationships so many times that my motto is “Long distance is the wrong distance” I’m dating guys who live in the same country, same stay and same city. Haha
I am very against long distance relationships. Physical connection is so important. But I’ve found myself talking to this guy a lot and I have no idea how to navigate the situation, we could be in lockdown for 4 or 5 more months?! I don’t even know if he’s a good kiss?! But I’m getting invested because he’s a catch and I don’t want to friend zone him.
Matthew, thank you for another great video! I’ve been following your content for the past two years and your work did change my approach to dating! Even though I am still single and living in the country with strict lockdown, I find myself happy in my solitude, however, I decided to give some initiative to online dating; the outcome surprised me: my open and playful approach (as in this video) made some people to disappear from promised dates after the lockdown been lifted. I am not discouraged, I will keep on trying! But how can I keep going if for the past year I was resiliently dealing with people who don’t stand for their words?
@@How.Dare.You. : I think we should take every piece of advice with a pinch of salt. In the end we are all blindly seeking something meaningful (Well, maybe Not exactly all of us, but the people who watch such Videos) and it all comes down to wether the both of you want the same things in life and you are both at a time in your lives where it all kinda comes together... Which seems simple, but it is actually infinitely complicated.
I agree with Oana Bucur, and worry about the original message, the idea that you can't do anything about it. Really? Good luck with getting what you want. Hopefully you are not as nihilistic/fatalistic as you make yourself sound. There are definitely things you can do about it, but of course it's not a good idea to force things together that don't want to fit together
"A voice, on the telephone..?"
That's wonderful!
That killed me! 😂😂😂😂😂
😂👍
I’d like to request more long distance centered videos!
Me too!

Since this isolation me and this girl I've been seeing recently have started voice noting instead of texting.
Amazing because now we get an exchange of our energies and tone which is actually a real turn on..
I'm advocating for more voice notes than text messages 🔥🔥
Thanks Matthew for being an inspiration for me and my Channel.
Simple. Genius. 😉
I've been doing the same with a guy I've been seeing as well except we do video chats. It just adds even a whole other level above 😀

A voice coming out of the telephone is the single most unused feature of my phone.
Smartphones are basically a mini computer, rather than a phone, these days

Yeah I love voice notes, it’s so much more interesting to hear a voice to understand depth, tone and mood, rather than a 2 dimensional text.

Every thing you share with us is Awesome indeed thank you Matt
Why did you take down the video that was up yesterday? I was looking forward to watching it this morning! 😩
MissAshleyPants SAME
diana banana I hope he responds and at least lets us know what it was about and why he took it down!
I am in love with that actor ♡
Awesome in this digital day... back to basics is key. Love this advice about keeping it real. ❤️
Video calling is the best
Loved the way you present your idea... it is not what you say it is how do you say it.... good job keep it up 👍🏻
Haha I just got out of a 2 month thing and now suddenly don't feel bad about it.
Hi Matt, even at age 53 your advice is so valuable. Wish I had read your advice years earlier; -). X
Is that the guy that was singing the Limbo song??
Yes. Jesse Pepe.
yes
It would be awkward cause he's shy i would be the only one sending him voice notes
heehee mefunny i tried to flirt but he changes the subject, but he show's a lot of signs that he likes me
So..you'd stand out.You care enough to actually call.
Dummmmp him
Girl I feel you. 🤔😂
Been doing this for a long time ! It really works it makes things so much mode intimate and you see a dif side to them
Wow!! The Talented Jameson Jordan everbody! What a phenomenal video and the voice message is different too what a way to mix things up. You'll nailed it, hope to see more videos done like this. Thanks Jameson! 😊👏👏👏👏❤
Charlotte, how come you stopped talking to me on IG? What happened? How are you?
Great idea, thank you! And thank you for making another video with Jesse 😍 🤪
Hey Mat! :) I always come back to your videos when I see I'm lacking in self love.
love the concept of this video! and the info is great too! gonna use this more.
You are correct imo
The best thing to do in normal times is just meet as soon as possible and go on a date.
If the two people like each other it can go from there. If either side isn't into it it can end there. Everything sorted out in a 20 mins coffee or cocktail (if either side isn't feeling it) or a date that lasts hours and hours if both sides are enjoying each other company
Thank you I needed this. I hope it works out.
Fantastic.. Amazing, i love this, very good idea. I would do it.. God bless you Matthew..
Congratulations on the great video from the beginning! It was awesome! Jameson you should be proud! Greetings from Argentina :D
You are the best MH!! We teach this in our phone based biz!!
Unfortunately this might not work for introverts, specially those who dislikes phone calls or Face Time.
I'm with you , I hate voicemail, I will still reply with a text .
But I’m getting invested because he’s a catch and I don’t want to friend zone him.
your words blow my mind always.
and i wonder why you still single , you're awesome😍 and you deserve a great partner.
may god bless you ,mat.❤❤❤
Matthew, thank you for another great video!
I’ve been following your content for the past two years and your work did change my approach to dating!
Even though I am still single and living in the country with strict lockdown, I find myself happy in my solitude, however, I decided to give some initiative to online dating; the outcome surprised me: my open and playful approach (as in this video) made some people to disappear from promised dates after the lockdown been lifted.
I am not discouraged, I will keep on trying!
But how can I keep going if for the past year I was resiliently dealing with people who don’t stand for their words?
Brilliant 😄 love the film! 💖
Fn fantastic Mathew! Thank you
That was a brilliant video and so informative as usual. Jesse Pepe is a talented guy.xx
THIS IS BRILLIANT
I loved this!!! Couldn’t agree more!
You are absolutely right ! Never thought of it but I will try it 😜🙌
I swear by this. Because you can hear their voice and emotions and it is fun. Plush I i get tired writing a text message
Thanks a lot for this video, this is what I looking for! ❤️
It doesnt matter what you do. I had a guy calling me or videoing. I liked him but we are not together. If its meant to be it will be
The same happened to me too. It's all the same if there is no real interest in getting to know the other person🤷♀️
@@oanabucur7759 yes and whether you text or call it doesnt matter that much
@@How.Dare.You. : I think we should take every piece of advice with a pinch of salt. In the end we are all blindly seeking something meaningful (Well, maybe Not exactly all of us, but the people who watch such Videos) and it all comes down to wether the both of you want the same things in life and you
are both at a time in your lives where it all kinda comes together...
