- A little over a year ago, I made a hyperrealistic cake of an orange -- and it's haunted me ever since 💀 So this week, I'm trying again and using a brand-new technique. Do you think I was able to improve this hyperrealistic orange cake compared to last time? Let me know in the comments!

Can you make a half a coconut cake next? With coconut water inside? I think that would be interesting, and the hairs on the shell would look really cool. And the cake inside could be coconut flavoured.

The peeled orange looks absolutely real. But the other one looks too perfect. I think it needs some imperfections to look like the real thing.
I much prefer the first peeled orange bc it was all cake and no mold was used…this one had too much gelatin in molds, almost no cake.

Not trying to downplay Natalie's talent in any way, as creating hyperrealistic art in any form is extremely difficult, but many of her newer "cakes" have barely contained any cake. Most of the items she makes now are just chocolate or gelatin poured into a mould, and then she inserts a tiny bit of cake and buttercream wherever it can fit. I honestly miss the hand sculpted cakes covered in modeling chocolate.
@@S3V3R3DH3ADI second this, these may look better but like I don’t think anyone wants to eat a blob of gelatin with some modeling chocolate, they can’t really be called cakes

The things she makes now are amazing and they look completely real, but they aren't really cakes
everyone here complaining about the gelatin expecting her to be able to make something dull [ex. modeling chocolate] into something shiny. also, the actual object is small so you shouldn’t just complain about the cake amount issues. this is not Twitter, dummies. now, to the real comment, you are absolutely right lol

The half orange cake came out amazing! The slice looks like a painted orange, but it was hard to tell if it was special because it cut so similarly to how a real orange would.
She always makes decorating a cake so easy though. I have had times where I’ve tried replicating her work and halfway through I think “ what have I done.” 😂

it definitely is an upgrade from the last one. Though I do feel that the half with its peel on looks a bit fake but I also feel the same with some real oranges. Like they just seem fake even though I know they are real.
Yea the peel looks more fake than the last one but the jello was smart. (Unfortunately I didn’t see any flavoring so it probably tastes bad tho ::(
Out of all of the ones that you’ve made I think my favourite is the peeled one.
The broken bit being shinier definitely makes it look more realistic 😊

That peeled orange is insane, it looks so real!!! The sliced orange is pretty but a little too perfect, it looks like a painting or an advertisement for an orange, but it’s wayyyyy better than the first attempt!
