- Hey guys! Today I am doing something a little bit different from my normal art style. I've always really loved abstract painting and have been wanting to experiment with it myself for a long time. So this week, I took 3 hours to dedicate to making as many abstract paintings as I could in a 3 hour period. They turned out a bit different than expected, but I'm still a beginner with abstract art, so I'm pretty happy with them.

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 28 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. I make a lot of decorating, painting and general art videos here. I'm obsessed with editing and adding lil bits to my videos, so if that's not your thing....oof you may hate this haha. I paint on squishies, thrift store finds, and other random things I pick up. I also love to draw, but don't expect anything too skilled, I'm not the best at that haha. You will also find occasional crafting/testing crafting kits on my channel which are always a hot mess. And even some baking (REALLY bad at that, but it's fun to try).

As someone who does abstract art I’m not surprised the first one took an hour. Abstract art takes longer than you think
does abstract art need to be planned out or do you just do random stuff and it looks good? genuine question because for me personally i can never do abstract art because i need everything to look perfect
@@rustic_dweller whenever i do abstract art i do a quick sketch but going in with paints :)
I prefer abstract art over traditional pieces because i do not feel the need to be overly perfect :>

@MoriahElizabeth New challenge idea! Idk if your mini me is old enough to do this yet, but you should have her scribble or draw for you and turn her scribbles into shapes and make it into an actual design! I bet it would be an amazing mommy/daughter keepsake! 💕

I love to paint abstract and it takes me MONTHS to finish a piece. It’s amazing how you’ll think your on track for what you want then you’ll do something to mess it up, so you step back for a bit flip the canvas a different way and a whole new spark comes to life.

hi moriah!! i just had a fun idea, which can be created off and on camera! i dunno why i thought about it, but i thought instead of blurring ur daughters face every time, u could make her a character and every time u want to feature her or anything related to her, u could use an icon or sticker of that character :)

From someone who does abstract art: personally, I put a lot of emotion into mine. I use my hands, things around me, hit the canvas, etc. its also fun to do under red light so you don't know what colors your using :))

I think Moriah should do something where she paints a dollhouse(I've seen them at hobby lobby-unpainted) and each room is designed to look like it belongs to one of her characters.

I really liked the first rainbow blob painting, it looks like sparkling lights :) The squiggle lines were fun as well, I think the red, yellow and green one looks kind of like an Eastern dragon flying away into the sky

You should do pickle in different styles, like abstract pickle, cubism pickle, minimalist pickle, etc. wold be so cool to see one of your creations in a variety of styles to explore!

One of your tips with blending rainbows in splotches was yo make sure you put colours that blend well next to eachother do that with your abstract too

Abstract artist here! I think that a big part of people not liking the end result and being surprised with how hard it is to make something they like is because most abstract artists do not ‘wing it’. A lot of abstract art is meticulously pre planned and set up so that the end product is a sort of controlled chaos
