Thanks for putting this video out. My problem was a complete wad of debris trapped in the air path used for vacuuming the floor. Used a mini snake to clear it. Thanks for getting me kick started.
I stopped after you said to check the belt. I did. My belt is broken. I just ordered a new one. In the past , usually belts smell like burning rubber. So, I didn't even think of that. Thanks. And thanks for getting to the point right away. I watch the rest of it.
I watched so many videos before I saw this. I'm wondering why eureka put the instructions on the back side of the dust cup. I never saw them before, and the vacuum was purchased used. I'm so glad you made this video. I never knew about the screen up inside. The vacuum works like New! Thanks
bam6972...!...you are the man...! After the Xmas tree and down feather bonanzas, my canister vacuum was ailing and I couldn't figure out where the do-do was hiding. For mine, it was inside the hose which I also used a slim broom / rake handle to push all the way through it. I salute your on-point and greatly informative video, you made my day...😃✔👌
Good video. Someone just gave me a Eureka vacuum, model 2309. I determined that it runs, but it looks like the belt is slipping, so I will dig into it first chance I get and give it a thorough cleaning, and maybe a new belt. Your demonstration was great for me. It's a shame, but we are going to give up on our old Kenmore canister vac, although it runs great. There are just no parts available anywhere, and it needs a new pickup brush in the power head- the old one is worn out, and it probably could use a new belt too. Heck, I can't even find replacement bags any more.
Thank you it took me about 20mins to take it apart and put back together my hose was clogged I was gonna throw it away was brand new had for about a month n has been stored in the closet n have it one more try
Never use compressed air on pleated filter media, it's a sure way to damage it. Compressed air can punch right the filter rendering it useless. If you would like to blow it out use a blower such as a shop vacs exhaust port or leaf blower on the opposite side
Thanks for putting out this video! It really helped me to figure out what was wrong and saved me a lot of money by being able to fix it myself! Peace and love to one and all from our Heavenly Father God Aheyeh (which means I AM in the ancient Hebrew language) through our Messiah Yehsheyeh, ( which means Savior in the ancient Hebrew language)!!!
I own a different Eureka - an environment vac, but there are some similarities. The suction seems good and roller spins, but it's not picking up some dust bunnies.. Your video gave me an idea to possibly help fix it? Thanks.
Cool video! For a long time when using this model it would pick debris up but then shoot some of it out the back, ever had this issue yourself? Also sometimes using it makes the carpet smell not so good even with clear filters, so I might try to wash the bristles from the bottom if I can get them off
I bought a Eureka the Boss used.I got it home and discovered water in the plastic tank in the bottom of the vacuum cleaner. How can I remove the water.model number 4870.Without to much pain and mental agony.
My vaccumestill sucks good through the hose but belt and rollor wont work now .theres a littl white button looks like relay button but its driving me crasy its the best vaccume i ever had
@@bread-gz3rl Turns out my removal of a whole room of carpeting, left enough fibers behind it clogged the vacuum up, and I had to get a long rod to remove a 3 inch compact tube of stuff deep in the machine. Almost got rid of it, but it's been working fine since.
on the bottom there should be screws that that hold the cover on. or there might be an access panel on the top. pull the old belt off. pull the roller out slide new belt onto motor then put the brush through the belt. then stretch it back into the holder that the brush sits into.
Thanks also for the video. I didn't know this vacuum had a filter screen till I saw it on your video. With the new belt and cleaning the filter screen, it sucks everything from the carpet except the padding. Lol
The vacuum is made out the cheapest plastic parts, don't go near it, you will never be able to replace them, the company doesn't support their own crap LOL
This virus got me learning how to fix everything in my house 😅
😆
Lol I can relate
Very good I also learned how to put on false eyelashes. Then I decide to grow some tomatoes.

Dude, did you just vacuum out a chicken coop? When is the last time you cleaned that vacuum?
So many things to consider when vacuum will not pick up. Thank you for this informative video! I'm going to try All here!
Thanks, my belt wasn't even broken...my hair was making it stuck. Removed the hair and now it works perfectly.

Thanks for the video, a sewer snake also works well for cleaning the hose out...
DAMN, That vacuum was ABUSED!!!! WOW, I wonder if the motor died. Great tips though!!! Thank you.
The motor is not dead -_-
still working to today .... just put a belt on it and away it sucks... literally .
@@bam6972 Older Eureka's are better trust me and did you have the older models from the 90s and 80s?
This wasn't what I was looking for but the information will be useful! Thanks for the information. Takes the mystery out of the unknown. ;)
Dam I didn't know there was so much to clean lol 😂 I thought I clean out everything, i guess not. I got work to do.

Thanks for this. I forgot about the filter above the main bin.

Fixed my Shark! How did I not know I needed to wash the filter? Lol
My hose works fine. But the bottom part won't pick things up as good. I changed the bag and filters etc.
Try a new belt. It might be slipping
@@bam6972 I took it in this morning. He told me it was clogged. Probably a hairball. I have cats. : )
