I had to explain it to my 10 year old son when RvP left for Man U. It was heartbreaking. RvP was our Arsenal hero. I understand why RvP did it, but that doesn't mean I will ever forgive him.
RVP what a player, I can't even hate him for leaving Arsenal cause the team rely on him so much in difficult period without investment to replace big players we have lost, which eventualy sacrificed him as well
11-14, Van Persie was undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world at the time, but it was a pity that Arsenal and Manchester United were no longer in their prime.
I was gutted when Fergie decided to leave. Not only for Manchester United, but for Van Persie-bc I knew this guy had put his future into Fergie’s hands, and since Fergie was leaving, I could sense that it spelled the end for RvP at United. It hurt worse that this collapse of RvP’s trust happened literally right after he carried them to winning the league in his first season 💔
As a person who started watching football because of RvP and being an Arsenal fan at the same time, I must say is a difficult place to be, that's why I can never totally hate this guy.
I've been an Arsenal fan for 33 years now and totally understand why he left us💯. He wanted to win trophies and progress, which Wenger and the board weren't about that. Great player was RVP 👊🏿
RVP what a player, I can't even hate him for leaving Arsenal cause the team rely on him so much in difficult period without investment to replace big players we have lost, which eventualy sacrificed him as well
RVP one of my fav players ,leave arsenal alone stop mentioning us mate!! I nearly cried when he left but later on understood trophies wins over loyalty.
One of Sir Alex's best last signings! Loved watching Robin play for club and country. Such a technically gifted player, wish we had him playing for us now as we need a striker of his quality. My Grandad was so upset when he left Arsenal ⚽💔🤣 I was laughing though!
Hi Joe from.south africa ...enjoying your shows . I am celtic bhoy ...I saw Robin. Play in the world cup in south africa ...when u live at the other side of the world it's just great to see u guys on the field like playing in the world cup ...don't forget the Scottish league had some amazing players they played in Scotland and England HAIL HAIL Thanks Daniel by the way your POD CAST are to short
He left Arsenal because the board had no ambitions that’s why most Arsenal fans don’t feel bad about him. We understood that it’s not his fault but the board caused everything.
The worst thing here as a Dutchman is to hear that our Dutch team could have performed 10-15% better. Basically, he is taking shots at the other 3 of the great 4 that they didn't get along better. What a shame....
As Arsenal fan i still remember when he left us that really broke my heart what a traitor now im glad Arsenal are slowly coming back Arteta is more legend than this snake
To be fair Arsenal were terrible at keeping their best players back then. Look how many went to City for more money I mean Arsenal were penny pinchers.
I always enjoyed his ball striking ability. When he then paired it up with top class movement he was a unique threat whose unforgettable goals and passionate celebrations were enjoyable to watch. He always felt real. I think he’ll go down in the ‘Sol Campbell’ territory for leaving to a rival because Fergie and Arsene were still there at the time of his move. It was at the proper backend of that rivalry and he was Arsenals best player who effectively went go to and help Fergie win one last title. Personally he made the right decision for himself but certainly there was historical context to consider. It’s like if Gerrard would’ve taken Mou’s offer to go to Chelsea in the mid 00’s
He was also at fault he kept players like kosilelney bentnar and average players on for years when arsenal were a genuine regular champions league club they could have got some of the best players across Europe
Joined the club raw talent 2004, injury prone but club was patient for many years, rape accusations again the club stood by him, inconsistent in his early career and indisciplined again the club backed him. When he really peaked, " the inner boy told him United". That's why will never respect him.
Leaving from Arsene to go and help Fergie win one last trophy was the historical context that compounded this move more than normal. Nasri was a ‘bad boy’ situation we had before. RVP went at the backend of the rivalry and that’s why it wouldn’t hit the same even if that exact same situation happened right now.
I join the 95% Arsenal fans that will never forgive RVO and don’t see him as a legend or anything. Left all that when he went to our main rivals after we stood by him. Being a great is about a lot more than football skills. Traitor
This man scored some of the most amazing goals in football.
Well done joe cole!! Wow for a player to conduct an interview as good as any journalist out there 👏🏾👏🏾

Great interview! As an Arsenal fan, it was disappointing to see him leave, but that era of Arsenal was the fertilizer for more success in the future.
Success in the future??
Kralingen best ever! Played at the streets from my neighbourhood ❗️❗️
Joe 'yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah... yeah' Cole.
What a player RvP. Bergkamp was ridiculous and along came this artist.
Arsenal stood by him through so many injured filled seasons….Football really isn’t a loyal sport.
He cost the club Millions and Millions then left!!
how comes they didnt renew his contract then?
Its called ambition.

This arsene guy was such a genius at mentoring.
One of the favourite ever Arsenal players. Still have mad love for him.
Same, especially how he left Arsenal and upset all their fans, it gave him even more respect points in my book.
He was injury prone so he knew his prime years will be short and took advantage best option he had to win EPL.
Soft boy
His first season at United was jaw dropping. The link up with Scholes was ridiculous
As an Arsenal fan still upset he left us in the manner he did but boy did he score some top goals for us!
Between 2009-10 until 2013-14 RVP was absolutely world class, right behind Messi and Ronaldo.
As a person who started watching football because of RvP and being an Arsenal fan at the same time, I must say is a difficult place to be, that's why I can never totally hate this guy.
Scored my favourite goal against Charlton.
Its sad seeing them aging...stay 💪🏽
I've been an Arsenal fan for 33 years now and totally understand why he left us💯. He wanted to win trophies and progress, which Wenger and the board weren't about that. Great player was RVP 👊🏿
He should have kept the same energy as an injury prone 24 year old when Wenger and club was standing by him and not selling him to Stoke City
He was coached to be a deadly forward by ARSEN Wenger, who stood by him through trying times..
Wenger was loyal to those lads..
He was too loyal to some of them.
And that's what hurts the most even us as fun💔💔💔💔💯
Wenger will never be forgiven for selling him to manu

Man barely asked him any questions about Arsenal. The team that made him a superstar.
he made himself a superstar, any team would've played him
My favourite player at Arsenal for a decade. So many great memories. Would love for him to come back

He had some cheek having a list of players he wanted Wenger to sign lol

I'm Ethiopian Arsenal fan, i like van persie so much but i was angry b/c he went man united.

BT just because they use to play football, doesn’t mean they should do interviews.
Better conversation between two professionals as opposed to a RUclips clown trying to be funny and not having the football knowledge like they should.
