    This video literally saved my life. I am a 51 year old woman who always had heavy periods but lately my periods were lasting a lot longer. My other female friends said it was normal and that I was going through the change. So my last cycle lasted for 6 weeks straight heavy without stopping. So I felt really weak and exhausted. I was waiting for my health coverage to begin for the ob gyn. Anyway, I was thinking that I had anemia. I looked up on RUclips and saw your video. So I was like wait a minute this woman has same exact symptoms as me. I couldn't hold out and went to the ER to get checked out. They took my blood levels and they were 5.3 and they said we're admitting you and that it was life threatening. What? Are you serious? If I didn't see this video I may have held off a few more days. Thank you for the video, it saved my life ❤

    • @Itsunclegabby
      @Itsunclegabby 6 лет назад +69

      ACOANM RU4REAL Fibroids are very VERY common. I was anemic and had a fibroid the size of an avocado! I was consuming dairy which elevated my estrogen and caused the fibroid to grow and grow. Look into this and ditch the dairy (it actually leeches calcium from our bodies). I would also recommend ditching all animal products - because if you're eating animals, you're eating their hormones! Now I eat fully plant based, mostly while foods and my hair is almost down to my waste. My blood levels are amazing, I look and feel younger, but most importantly: NO fibroid surgery required now because it SHRANK. After 3 years it's the size of a walnut. No more heavy bleeding. No more cramping. And that's not even HALF of the benefits I've seen. Good luck ladies!

    I was very anemic about a year ago. My hemoglobin levels were at a 7.8. I went to the doctor and he gave me iron injections for two weeks (10 shots total), iron supplements & B vitamins, and had me on an iron rich diet. To help my system digest the iron, I would eat lots of oranges (anything with vitamin C, excluding lemon) and take vitamins D3. I was able to raise my hemoglobin levels to a 10.2 in 2 months. I kept at it and I found that what helped me out the MOST was a beet, carrot & orange juice mix in the morning before breakfast. I went from 10.2 to 13.5 in about a month. My hair is now growing back curlier than ever and I feel great.

Disowning simply means detaching your identity from the disease : understanding that you are greater- completely independent & separate from IT. Then you do the inner work, the inner healing, questioning where it stems from, how it all began, & what steps you can take to better yourself daily. Most importantly, cultivating your energy & reinforcing your faith. Healing is a daily journey, a daily recommitment self + to declaring your sovereignty. I overlooked all the symptoms but hair loss was my main concern. I had fuzzy vision episodes, intense tinnitus, greyish-tan skin, always cold and preferred heat, lightheadedness, fast heartbeat, tiredness, etc. There's probably more but like I said, I overlooked my symptoms.
    My ferritin level was almost at a zero, so my doctor put me on a 65mg of iron pills per day (my body took it well thankfully). I also changed up my diet so I would consume meat at almost every meal. Just a little bit over 6 months, I re-took a blood test, and I'm now in the healthy range. It all depends on how much iron you take per day, not just pills. I recovered really quickly! My hair is growing back but I believe it'll take at least a year to look somewhat healthy as it once did.
    To anyone who is anemic, you can get through this.

If you're having scalp pains, maybe it was caused by an external factor? But if everything you're doing to fix it isn't working, go to the doctor ASAP!

    This happened to me. I had already finished college, but decided to go back to school & was grinding so hard by working & going to school. I started having the same symptoms...but I'm a health freak so it was weird for me to have heart palpitations.
    I went to the doctor because my school advisor noticed I was different. My hemoglobin levels had dropped to a 4. The doctor tried to force me to go to the hospital but I refused to go. I told her I know what to do. & I refused to take the iron pills they tried to give me because I know the form of ferrous they use is awful, cheap, & causes constipation.
    I went & got hemaplex (it's a blood building iron supplement form of ferrous amino acid chelation, No constipation). I started eating red meat again, which I wasn't at the time, & I started eating lentils, black beans, & tons of spinach, & kale. I also started drinking nettle tea & stopped drinking coffee, no wine.
    I got my levels up to an 8 the following week. The doctor backed off about threatening to force me to go get a transfusion. The week after that I got them up to a 10.
    Having heavy menstrual cycles plus being on the go w/o having time to take care of myself (stopping to eat) is the root cause. I don't take hemaplex anymore. I actually take the mega foods blood builder tablets once a day (twice a day during the week of my period) & I also take a shot of Gaia herb's liquid iron. Going to juice generation to get their juice "the professional" helps because it contains Swiss chard, kale, & wheatgrass. Also juicing with beets, apples, a lime, ginger, kale, & spinach is also a good idea.
    This video was really good & more women need to see this.

      Please do not involved me in your petty need for drama & if you are not here to respond with something informative that improves upon what's being said, keep scrolling and remain silent.
      I think on planet earth, it's also totally fine to also post my experience as it relates to this video about anemia.

Stop coming on here attempting to tell people how to be, & passing judgement on people's experiences. I've had 2 iron infusions after giving birth. My recommendation is....Make sure you check for uterine fibroids or polyps if your periods are extremely heavy and painful. That's what caused me to be iron deficient.

    This was so freaking relatable! When I noticed a lot of hair loss and broken ends I would always search ways on how I could make my hair stronger and thicker, and every video I found recommended oil treatments. It never worked. Like you, I just concluded that it was a genetic thing and I should get over it. But it was always an embarrassing thing to talk about when everyone I know has amazing gorgeous hair. Until recently, I went to go donate blood and they told me my iron level were critically low and that I should work on getting them up. It wasn't until then that I connected a lot of dots and now I'm taking iron pills. It's been a very recent thing, but already my hair feels amazing and people are noticing!!!!! I don't feel as tired or out of breath anymore. Thank you for sharing your story. I know other people are going to come across it and this will definitely help them out!

    I have severe anemia caused by my fibroid. I had to literally use adult diapers and go thru maybe 3-4 a day. It's no joke. My levels were so low I had to have about 8 iron infusion treatments. I'm feeling a little better. I do watch what I eat. You want to avoid foods that flare up your fibroid if that's the cause of your anemia. My diet is more greens, veggies, fruit and protein (that is not from animal) diet. It has helped reduce excessive bleeding tremendously. Also take blackstrap molasses, lemon and water concoction every day.

      i have been diagnosed with anemia, but not fibroids. I've tried using Ferratin tabs daily, per dr. 's recommendation. Though my stomach tolerated the pills well, they did cause me some constipation and I noticed the heaviest period of my life. When my blood test was retaken, iron levels were same or down on some #'s. Since then, I've stopped taking the iron pills and am trying to correct the iron issues strictly with diet corrections. I'm interested to see the next result. I am working with my doctor and follow ups to hopefully resolve the issue. While she has mentioned, quite off the cuff, which is disturbing, the possible need for hysterectomy, I am adamant about finding the source or cause of this issue prior to removing organs in a process of elimination style of diagnosis. It's good to read others experience regarding this.

      Why? I've heard the opposite because when a hematocrit is ultra-low, the idea is to raise your stores that are depleted. The stores are what keep you going. An excellent product by Solgar Gentle Iron is one of the best products on the market. It's half the price of that product and there is no potential to overdose, just because of the way it is made. The less you need, the product adjusts. That's what people, especially women, worry about when they take an iron product. In one month, you watch the worst of your symptoms disappear. If you bruise easily, that's also a symptom and sleep a lot, that's another. Most people, especially women, should have their blood for a hematocrit twice a year just to know where they are.

    • @anjoelsallas
      @anjoelsallas 5 лет назад +28

      As Sm incorrect. Half the iron from animal products are called HEM iron. People who consume HEM-iron seriously increase their risk of coronary heart disease. Secondly meat is very acidic also increases low density lipoprotein which creates plaque in the arteries which slows down blood flow. The exact opposite of what an anemic wants. Spinach has more iron than meat anyways

Now here we are about 10 months later and my hair just stopped falling out about 3 months ago, yay! My legs are still a little "lacey" and I honestly think I need a higher dose of iron but needless to say, that shit is important lol I couldn't even stand up at work without getting lightheaded. I am pale (have been for years though) feel out of breath and pant a lot when i walk up like 2-3 flights of stairs especially in school omg the worst. (Been like that for years) I get ringing noises in my ears sometimes randomly, I’m kinda weak but I guess I never excersize so that’s why, I do sometimes feel dizzy and very lightheaded only on my period really. But for the past 4-5 months I’ve been taking multivitamins with iron in it so can I still have low iron? I’m hoping this is the reason my hair is shedding so I can have hope my hair will grow back. My hairs been significantly thinner than what it once was for at least a year but I didn’t really realise until I noticed my hair was shedding a lot more than usual. I’ve been taking iron supplements for about a week now but no change in my hair shedding.

    I recommend eating iron rich food..red meat, kale, dark green veggies, etc. Poor diet affects your energy levels. In your case medication works. They give iron pills to pregnant females too. I try to incorporate daily vitamins, but certain veggies have different minerals and vitamins better than any pill. I have family members with this issue.

    I have iron deficiency anaemia - I've had it since at least August of this year. It's not the first time either. The first time I had it, I never went to the doctor. I basically self-diagnosed myself when I was 19 which meant I didn't take it seriously but I knew that's what I had, I had lost lot of hair and was starting to get lots of small bald patches. I made an effort to start eating more iron and nutritional things and over the years my hair got thicker again. By the way, my hair is pretty much exactly like yours Amena, same curls, same length and colour. I'm 22 now and since the first hair loss, my hair recovered back to being thick, though not to the previous extent but it was thick enough and the curls went back to thick and chunky rather than thin and whispy and frizzy looking, but in August I started to notice again they were looking thin and whispy around the crown of my hair but I didn't really think much of it. When I had my period in that month, I suddenly was having extreme dizziness every time I moved to the point where I was losing my balance and falling over. I told the doctor I was certain that I was anaemic but he was insistent that it was a middle ear infection and prescribed me middle ear infection tablets which I decided not to go and get. I was having nearly all the symptoms of iron deficiency: extreme dizzyness, lethargy, feeling cold, pica syndrome and the hair loss. Also from using MyFitnessPal app I was seeing that I wasn't getting any iron in my diet. I scheduled for a blood test which confirmed I'm anaemic. I started taking iron tablets less than a week ago. This week, everytime I touched my hair, balls of it were just coming out in droves and when I washed and combed it a few days ago, I lost a ton of hair and the bald patches are all back again. The hair on top of my head has no volume now, i've lost a lot of it where I used to have lots of curls there and it doesn't look nice so I'm keeping my hair tied back or wearing my wig. Sorry for the looong comment, I just wanted to share my experience. I know how heart breaking losing your hair can be but I wanted to give some hope to anyone in my situation that it will grow back, as long as you fix the iron defficiency. I ordered the Hair Jazz hair growth products which previously helped my hair to grow longer and grow new hairs last year. Wish me luck for growing my hair back!

      - - Hi, I'm sorry you're going through it too but you are very welcome, I'm glad I could help you with my comment. I guess your next step is to go for a blood test to determine what it is you need, most likely you just need to be on some form of iron tablets to get your iron stocks back up. I've never had kids myself but my mam got it after giving birth too. Except for my hair loss, all of the other symptoms disappeared instantly as soon as i started taking the iron (ferrous fumarate). Wishing you all the best in your recovery.

    A few comments, from a medical professional. Iron deficiency anemia is very common, and the treatment should not be blood transfusion! When anemia is severe, but you're still managing your daily activities, as you were, the appropriate treatment would have been IRON, which is the fuel that allows your body to produce its own blood. Unfortunately oral iron is tough to take! And that applies to any formulation! I suspect you did better with the megafood formulation because each tablet only contains 29mgs - most regular formulations contain 65mgs.
    If one cannot tolerate oral iron, then the appropriate treatment is an iron infusion - with modern day intravenous formulations one's entire iron deficit can be replaced with 1 or 2 infusions.
    Last point - craving for unusual food (or non-foods), especially ICE, is very common in people who are iron deficient. This often occurs before any other symptoms. Women should be alert to this symptoms, and if present should get their iron tested.

      @@NaNa-kd6jr yes, it doesn't matter. For you to be given a blood transfusion because you are anemic is because the doctor must have thought you were in danger. It is never the first form of treatment. I know what I'm talking about. I have chronic anemia and every so often my levels get dangerously low but only once have I been told to have a blood transfusion which I declined. The measurements you gave a irrelevant in that sense that treatments will differ from person to person. I have had lower levels than I had when I was asked to do a blood transfusion and guess what I had no symptoms of anemia, which meant that my body for whatever reason was working perfectly with those low blood level. I was described iron tablets and I was fine. It just happened that I was being tested for something else when that came up. Absolutely irrelevant.

For over a year, I thought that chronically chapped lips, dry and thinning hair, and even the whole feeling lightheaded when standing too quickly or for long periods of times was actually normal.
