  • Neo Federer was a scary man. Step back in time to the 2017 ATP 500 in Basel, Switzerland, where tennis legends Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro went head-to-head. Roger clearly struggled that day, missing shots we're not used to seeing him miss. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Delpo really didn't learn from his mistakes in that 4/4 in the first

Apart from the Nadal Djokovic and Murray, del Potro has to be the biggest threat to Federer

Del potro and Stanislas was the biggest threat to everyone apart from that names. Sometimes these two were more threat even than Murray. But Murray at his best was better than both of them.

@@martinpaniceres8352 Agreed. Murray was on another level of threat, because he has been a constant threat from 2009 to 2016. The other two didnt last long.

Federer playing into Del Potro's forehand must be the stupidest thing he did in his career, and he did it almost always they played.

Agreed, he was such a tactically sound player but his strategy against del Porto made so little sense. Cost him such big matches

@@liemn6575I’d argue his tactics against a lot of his biggest rivals were questionable. Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray were much tactically smarter players.

@@SJ-di5zu Murray was for sure someone Fed figured out tactically after around 2010, even Rafa arguably towards the later stages, won 5 of their last six

@@SJ-di5zu It was much more difficult against them, given Federer's play style and age. Only by changing the racket he could stood his ground from the baseline more often.
With Del Potro it looked like he was trying to prove a point, meaning "I'm not scared of your forehand, mine's better" or something.
