Great advice about just make what you husband likes, even though it's simple. I have been married 12 years and have to remind myself make your husbands simple favorites at least once a week! He will thank you for it. 😁
My Aunt Reva usually makes that dessert for the holidays growing up we called it Reva’s Special Holiday Delight and our kids still ask her to make it. She has made it with various flavors including a lemon version but for Thanksgiving and Christmas it was always chocolate.
This year it was just myself & my 2 boys, 10 & 13, I did exactly what you said make what you want! We had Ribeyes on the grill, loaded baked potatoes, caesar salad, homemade rolls & apple & pumpkin pie. It was my favorite Thanksgiving. I personally could go without Thanksgiving and be perfectly fine. Cant wait to see tomorrows video!! Love when the fam is in the vlogs!
Been doing this the list 3? years too. Just the 3 of us now (long story) hubby, adult son & myself. We make enchiladas, Lazagne, hamburgers. Pretty much what ever we want.
Lol I used disposable pans paper plates plastic silverware and solo cups this year and I loved it didn’t feel guilty at all it was nice not taking 2 hours to do dishes and clean the kitchen I’m all for paper plates
Aww you're such a good mom on it and all your girls are so helpful I just love watching your channel makes my heart so happy and warm... really does boost up my spirits during these hard times.... thank you ever so much for letting us be a part of your life... hope you and your family are having an awesome holiday season and many blessings to you and your family
Your Thanksgiving looked so delicious and the desserts to finish off a spectacular day. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s video. Omg. I love stuffing, nothing fancy just good old stuffing. It looks a lot like my moms. As much as I helped her make Thanksgiving foods, my stuffing gravy etc never taste as good as mom’s. Lol Great memories that I’ll always cherish. Love that the girls help you in the kitchen. They’ll have memories and think back on how they learned to cook. Today, you have a fantastic, sunny and blessed day. Happy to share this time with you.
This year we loaded up the family and went to the buffet at the local casino. Someone else bought the food, cooked the food and cleaned up the mess. We left a nice tips and our thanks. I think we have a new tradition. Everyone there observed the Covid protocol and we felt safe.
Watching in October 2021. The whole family had Covid at the start of Nov 2020 so there was no one able to cook. Boston Market to the rescue for catering 😃 I've been binging your channel these last few weeks getting inspiration for some meal preps, which is what I'll be doing over Thanksgiving break because we are getting a freezer. I'm still recovering from Covid a year later and I am so grateful to be able to have the energy to work and provide for my family. If you read this, I hope you and your family are well and staying healthy. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Thank you so much for the content on your channel!
We just call it pistachio dessert because we always make it with pistachio pudding, or we call it four layer dessert. We don’t generally use nuts in the crust. We also used paper plates and disposable pans this year to limit the germs we were spreading in our small group.
i am watching this wayyy before thanksgiving and you’re right! it is definitely helping me the year after you posted it! i’ve been stressing so much over hosting my first thanksgiving and the lord brought me your video to guide me
Wow...love your music the motivational and Christian music! This motivated me to start deep cleaning my kitchen and I’ve done the microwave and one countertop and it’s 12:30 here! Will continue after finishing watching! 😁 I come to you foe the enthusiasm and motivation....positive thoughts to help encourage me Thank you Amy! 🙏
Yes your tips are great. I used foil pans and Ziplocs myself. I don't know if you have a Dollar Tree but they have all sizes of foil pans with lids perfect for one person to 5 people and they stack real well in the refrigerator they're awesome I decided to downsize myself I made a turkey and a ham and I took some extra turkey and the rest I fed to the dog and the cat and they loved but you can also make a casserole with turkey stove top cream of mushroom and cream of onion soup mix it's delicious. And the good news I had my surgery yesterday and I can see out of both eyes it's wonderful praise the Lord.
Each time you use your can opener, run the gear heads under water as hot as you can and stand it on the drain board. Same opener for over 15 years and no ick.
Good morning 😃 we did a thanksgiving refresh this year too! And it was a great day. I received my mpow earbuds on Sunday, they are amazing.. I love the touch pause!! better than my 🍎 pods.. thank you for the link! I appreciate you everyday, your upbeat positive attitude is so refreshing and I enjoy you! Have a great day 👍👍
I know I was meant to hear what you said this morning Amy. Your thoughts can be troublesome. So I’m going to listen to music that will lift me up. That is a great idea. Thank you Amy. You light up life!
Love all the tips, you are the best!! You are so right about cooking all day, 30 minutes max to eat, and then all the pots and pans to clean up. I finally woke up last year for Christmas Day and used red a green plastic plates I splurged on the dance ones. Same with the foil pans using them more an more!! What ever was I thinking for the last 29 years!!!! This year my brother canceled dinner because his mother in law caught COVID-19. He cancelled the Weds. night before so I had not time to go get a turkey. We had chicken cutlets, sweet potatoes, and stuffed mushrooms. It was perfect!! My girls do not like turkey anyway!
Amy, you are the energizer bunny! Everything looks delicious! I'll be making your jell-o salad and your better than love dessert soon! Thanks for sharing! Hope you had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!! Hugs!
I agree easy clean up anything disposable, I don't use any paper or disposable product s through the rest of the year Christmas Easter and thanksgiving is all
Hi Amy I’m just getting to start watching your videos again. I went back to work in the office until COVID hit and the it has been non-stop training classes since working from gone again. I too have cut down my Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. We have gone from ham and turkey, chicken and noodles, regular dressing and oyster dressing, corn, green beans, Mac n cheese mashed potatoes, rolls not to mention the 6 pies, The Next Best Thing to Robert Redford ( another version of Better than Love) and Carmel Apple Salad to chicken & noodles, ham, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes rolls, oyster dressing and ONLY 4 desserts. It is so much nicer and easier. More time to visit with family and not as much time coking and cleaning. I pray you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas. Stay safe
Im a LEO so I usually dont have Thanksgiving off and we lost my Mother to cancer Thanksgiving 2018 so I went all out taking full advantage of the time off and made everything from scratch. I made Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, corn pudding, green bean casserole, stuffing, and spiced cranberry sauce. Desserts we had pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, and peanut butter pie. There were only six of us here at the house but we made food trays to take to some that couldn't come or it was too high a risk with Covid. I spent the best part of 2 days in the kitchen and I was exhausted but I wouldnt trade it for the world, time with family is as precious as it gets!
Just speaking for myself Amy I enjoy getting to watch you after the chaos at my house with my feet up it's more enjoyable to me I really get to enjoy yours Happy Thanksgiving God bless love the tips on the pies never thought about putting a plate in between them
your idea of preping alot of your food the day before is a great idea, i never thought of doing that. usually i did everything on the one day and then i was too exhausted to enjoy the rest of the evening. doing it your way would have given me a less stressful day.
Love watching older videos. I tried tou butter trick (just to soften) to make cookies for my hubby the other day. Its worked AMAZINGLY well. Thanks so much for that tip. & I had not splatter. 🙂
hi amy 😃 as always your super organised n all looks scrummy ...i do hope you all had a lovely day ... family time is the best time ...nothing beats it in my opinion ...🌈💜
My family loves turkey. We love it so much that we cook a full turkey plus a turkey breast and don't even worry about giving leftover turkey to the animals they love it. I'm from Idaho and my family isn't fond of mashed potatoes. I think it's good that you're mindful of food waste.
I made that for the first time this year YUM. Our family says Se* in a Pan but you can also say Heaven in a Pan. It's so good with pecans. :) I baked the crust too long though, was too hard.
the meat chopping star tool is not a thing here in Australia, I went out on a limb and picked one up from Amazon US and it is the best thing ever! Ive been raving about it to all my friends ahaha
Amy we call that dessert Angels Delight we renamed it after it was given to us named Devil's Delight it is so yummy I never thought about butterscotch that would be delicious
I use the same aluminum pans for cooking, and I place cookie sheets, or thick pieces of cardboard between them to stack, so nothing gets smooshed. I just told my husband about your desserts, and we are going to try a few for Christmas. I also told him what you said about, making your husband what he likes, not to try and get fancy. He said, that is a wise woman.
Hi Amy. Yes I also do most of my cooking the day before, makes life easier on Thanksgiving day. I am going to DL your pumpkin pie with the cake topping for Christmas. I live seeing the girls helping cook. When you were talking about Greg saying the chocolate pie is different you said it isn't, you sounded just like Lauren! As always stay inspirational and be blessed.
When I celebrated holidays, I used to often use the disposable pans. It was very convenient. Plus I didn't have a lot of Bakewsre. So more pans were needed anyway. Getting disposable pans was a good tip to share.
When I had roommates, we renamed the Better than _ _ _ cake... Holy Cow Cake! Because once you have had a bite, you usually say, Holy cow thats good!!! 😊🤷♀️
I love turkey, I cook my meat the day before and have it sliced and in gravy for the big day. I also make my soup the day before and prep everything else then too. Stay safe and god bless xxx
Irish Stuffing - so, so simple 😀 Put the bread in a blender (food processor) and make it into crumbs, either blend onion with the crumbs or chop the onion fine. Melt butter (enough for the quantity of stuffing) and mix all together with a little salt (remember there is salt in the butter!), when ready cook in the oven, making sure to stir a few times so all the stuffing gets a chance at the top. Cooking time for a family of 6 is approx 20-25 mins in a medium oven.
Great video amy some fantastic idea's puddings looked delish never made my own stuffing befoe but it looked delicious as well have a fantastic day love too you all xx
The better then love desert I grew up with it. I was always told it's called Reuben dessert. Sometimes people call it Nexr best thing to Robert Redford. It was my favorite and my dad's chocolate pie
Do you make a no-bake cheesecake? Fruit salad, cranberry sauce. Very small gathering (3) You're an awesome lady a lot don't cook for holidays order out dinners. Been cooking Holiday meals for over 45 years. Love language service cooking for others. Hope your week is going well. Reading your book about motivation has really helped. awesome dinner. I love the jello salad. chocolate pies.
For future reference we always cook the turkey giblets slowly while the turkey roasts then make gravy from the broth. The giblets can be eaten, but they can also be an extra treat for the animals.
We raise and harvest two turkeys every other year. We aren't huge mashed potato eaters either...we didn't have them this year. I did have gravy for the turkey though. I had the best Thanksgiving in over 20 years. I still had to do all the cooking but I didn't have to worry about my house being spotless and everything being perfect for my inlaws. It was the greatest!! My husband doesn't love pie crust and rarely eats the edge so I quit making it homemade and just buy premade refridgerated crust. This year I even bought store made bakery pies.
Thanks for all the tips and recipes. Everything looks so good and you make it seem so simple. I am sure you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a good day today. It is cold here now and Western PA had snow but we here in Eastern PA have had just flurries overnight which I did not see. ❄🌨⛄🎄💙
I don't like turkey either Amy. Your jello salad is very similar to a flummery out here (jelly and chilled whipped evaporated milk mixed together) is an old fashioned dessert. Great baking! Blessings X
My grandparents who are in their mid 70s now make a huge fancy Thanksgiving dinner every year and they have always put everything in disposable pans and we use thanksgiving themed paper plates and plain old red solo cups! And guess what? The food is just as amazing in those paper plates!! And my grandparents don’t have to worry about all those dishes (which is kids would have washed for them anyways). Then they have me take most of the leftovers home for me and husband and kids so they don’t have a ton of leftovers to deal with. Win win for everyone
Tim Horton was a Canadian hockey player who passed away in a car crash on his way home from a game. Was one of my first jobs as a youngster. Actually met him. Love your videos and watch every day. Jennifer from toronto
Good morning. Were you talking to someone off camera when you started cooking or singing? I love to sing when I work around the house. It is great to have help in the kitchen when doing lots of prep work. This year I did it all myself. It isn't a big deal because there was just myself & daughter. The thing that was tough, is I usually cook with my sister and she does her stuff and I do my stuff and we get it all done by early afternoon. As I was working on parts of stuffing, I forgot the pieces she does for it and I didn't even think about. She told me my niece helped her bake, but tougher than it just getting done. We found that people would fight for crispier stuffing, so we started baking it in muffin tins. My daughter ate almost all the stuffing the night before we had our turkey dinner. Oh well. We actually ordered in Chinese delivery Thanksgiving day and had our dinner on Saturday. Have a fantastic, fabulous day. See ya tomorrow
Some great advise your giving Am’s! I can’t eat nuts. I’m so ready to watch your pecan pie recipe! All the other things you cook too! I know every bit of it is going to be delicious! Ok, let’s watch and learn! :)
Turkey is one of my favorites! Now I don’t eat ground turkey at all. I love potatoes anyway you cook them! It’s one of my family’s favorites. We have Turkey & cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving . We have a ham on Christmas. I guess it’s just what you grow up doing from your parents. Traditions! I’m from the south so we call it dressing. Everything looks delicious!! Thanks for sharing! God Bless!
Hi Amy happy Thanksgiving to yourself and your family 🙏😇..I love all that you cook .your a beautiful God loving family ❣️..I so enjoy each day the spiritual word you share..I Thank God for each day he gives me because I have seen and been though alot but I truly believe in his word..y'all have a blessed evening 🙏💚
In my family, holiday favorites were green bean casserole, cranberries, and deviled eggs. Now my sister makes 4+ dozen deviled eggs for events, and they still don't last! 😆
Hi Amy. As I said before I'm puertorriquen so we either have turkey or we eat our regular tradicional Christmas dinner like Rice with pigeon peas, Pork which we call (pernil) our potatoes salad, stuffing, regular salads pumpkin pie and our tradicional Rice pudding for dessert. Plus we have our beverages like our coconut egg nog (Coquito). But overall we love to just be with family. Just pass a regular relax day having fun together. Even if it is being together at the kitchen cooking. I felt sorry when you kept saying onions instead of Almonds for the dessert. At first I laughed but then who wouldn't get confuse sometimes with so much work Lol. Love to see your girls helping out specially Maddie..Momma's little helper. She is so adorable. Love her and Jayden. Did you have Lauren asnd Mathew over for Thanksgiving? Hope your day was a blessed and happy one. May the Lord bless you and your family always. Thanks for sharing. ♥️
My Grandma made the same dessert as the one you are speaking. She did not like using the three letter word around us kids when we were growing up. She renamed the dessert, "the Next Best Thing to Robert Redford" dessert. Robert Redford was the cat's meow back in her day. Nowadays, any mega celebrity could be inserted for the name to modernize it. Yeah....that dessert is REALLY good!! I haven't made that in a really long time. I might have to go make some soon. I hope ya'll had a lovely thanksgiving!
On Thanksgiving with my sister in law and her husband their kids we did shishkabobs, stuffed jalapeno peppers, hotdogs for the kids, macaroni and brownies.
LOL about Greg's chocolate pie. In Belgium we have a saying, and my mom loves it (all through her 51 years of marriage), "A man may eat everything but can not know everything", which is basically, what you won't know won't kill you. But nicer IMHO. ;) And it says a lot about what it is like to be married as well. :D Gotta keep things happy and moving along!
Up in the Northeast here in New Hampshire I don't think I've ever heard of Jell-O salad think I might have to give that a try sometime thank you so much for sharing
I'm from the deep south.....Alabama.....and I would be beat with a stick if I served stuffing. It has to be cornbread dressing which is a 3 day process. It's just a southern thing. Love your videos and especially your encouraging and motivational words. I developed a debilitating bone disease at the age of 32 and after countless joint replacements and spinal cord surgeries, I was left disabled but watching your videos makes me get up and move. I do my Bible study, tidy my house and yes, I prep meals for a few days at a time. I've watched you push through a headache and some body/back aches and I say by golly, I will too!! Love your entire family. May you have a blessed holiday season!!!
Miracle whip..onions cucumbers and tomatoes. Pear salad..is strawberry jello pureed pears and cool whip...use the pureed pears for the amount of water you need for jello
I come from a big family and people could never understand why none of th kids helped with the dishes. It was because my mother loved the peace and quiet she enjoyed while she did the dishes all alone in the kitchen.
Amy thank you for sharing your Thanksgiving prep meals I love watching it love you all I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving you have a happy Christmas I don’t celebrate Christmas but you can happy holidays to you and your family
I cook my ham in oven I cook my turkey in a roaster pan made my mashed potatoes and made my little pan of gravy everything else like my sweet potatoes my green bean casserole stuffing all those with those tinfoil pans and we use paper plates so there’s nothing wrong with that. When dinner was done my son got up and he cleaned up the kitchen there’s only three pans to wash
Great food Amy lots of ideas there that can be used on Christmas day I'm with whoever likes the leg meat so much nicer than breast meat but here in England we have Beef and Pork for Christmas dinner but I think have what meat you like and all the trimming yummy 😙 have a great day see you tmorro xx
This was my 40th Thanksgiving Meal. I do a simple menu for only 5. Ham, Turkey, Cornbread Dressing, Collard Greens, gravy & Mashed Pot Corn bake , 8 DEVILED EGGS, cranberry relish. I use the foil pans. I PLACE JELLY ROLL BAKING PANS TO STACK THE PANS IN FRIDGE. WE DO 2 PIES & JELLO DESSERT. No one ate pie on Thursday. MY HUSBAND & 2 DAUGHTERS ALL WORKED DIFFERENT TIMES EVERY THANKSGIVING. Just myself & our Granddaughter are here. We celebrate mainly at dinner. GOD BLESS
I love watching your videos, I'm from the uk so we don't do thanks giving well only celebrate Christmas this time of year. Do you do a big meal Christmas day as well ? X
Being from the South we eat a lot of pecan pie. I made one and a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. The entire pumpkin pie was gone and only 1 piece of the pecan pie was eaten. So, I either don't make it anymore or stop making it so much during the year. My Aunt made a better than sex cake one year and we really didn't care for it. But I don't remember it having pudding. I might have liked that better.
Here where I am, we call that dessert 4 layer delight. There is a whole other cake that has fruit and cake mix we call better than sex cake. I always use the aluminum pans on holidays. I try to be environmentally friendly too, but on holidays I need easy.
Watching n listening to you today is reliving my Thanksgiving! Prep day before, my sides was a favorite side of each one! I do not like Turkey at all n neither do my kids or grands! We had ham, chicken, dressing, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, rolls. Dessert was pecans pies n cheesecake! Was delicious meal!
I love seeing children helping mom in kitchen! Talking and laughing make the work easier.🌷🐬

I like the blouse you're wearing with the Autumn leaves. My favorite time of year. 🍁🍁🍂🍂🌾
Love your attitude! Thank you!!!
Awesome vid Amy , your foundation, love , respect , organization, reflects your imperfectly perfect . HAPPY HOLIDAYS !
My mom use to say “A clean house is a sign of a wasted life.” I never understood that saying until I had children!!
Love watching you in the morning!! I'm 9 months pregnant with my 4th baby, and I have been CRAVING macaroni salad for 2 days! Lol
Love that can opener
We love Better Than Sex cake and it's okay to say sex the Lord doesn't care if we say sex he just wants us to keep it between our partners are spouses
My family loves turkey. We love it so much that we cook a full turkey plus a turkey breast and don't even worry about giving leftover turkey to the animals they love it. I'm from Idaho and my family isn't fond of mashed potatoes. I think it's good that you're mindful of food waste.
Great video! Also, the hard plastic cutting boards from the dollar tree work well between pans for stacking in the fridge or freezer 😊 Happy Holidays.
Smart ! Thanks for this

i agree with you on the turkey. We were gifted a turkey and it is still in the freezer. I will give to someone in need closer to Christmas.
Great idea

When I celebrated holidays, I used to often use the disposable pans. It was very convenient. Plus I didn't have a lot of Bakewsre. So more pans were needed anyway. Getting disposable pans was a good tip to share.
Kudos!!!
You are one energizer Momma❤️
Great video and tips!!!
Thank you, blessings to you and your family❤️
I have those same cooling racks & you can stack them when cooling cookies & such to save space
I giggle every time you say Asiago...ahh-see-ahh-go. Love your videos 💕
Oh sounds yummy
Great video amy some fantastic idea's puddings looked delish never made my own stuffing befoe but it looked delicious as well have a fantastic day love too you all xx
The better then love desert I grew up with it. I was always told it's called Reuben dessert. Sometimes people call it Nexr best thing to Robert Redford. It was my favorite and my dad's chocolate pie
I like all kinds of music. I just checked out your favs and Skillet is awesome. Will check out others on your list. Thanks
I haven't :)
Good morning, Amy. I hope you have a lovely day
For future reference we always cook the turkey giblets slowly while the turkey roasts then make gravy from the broth.
Use cookies sheet between the aluminum pan to stack in the freezer or refrigerator
Thanks for all the tips and recipes. Everything looks so good and you make it seem so simple. I am sure you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a good day today. It is cold here now and Western PA had snow but we here in Eastern PA have had just flurries overnight which I did not see. ❄🌨⛄🎄💙
Maddy is such a good helper.❤
I've heard it called better than anything cake....go with that....it's easier! 😁
Good advice on paper plates, and disposal pans......love it❤️
I don't like turkey either Amy. Your jello salad is very similar to a flummery out here (jelly and chilled whipped evaporated milk mixed together) is an old fashioned dessert. Great baking! Blessings X
Oh I will have to look that up 😉
You can stack the cooling racks to cool and save room if you need to..... Or mine do anyway
Yes they do
My grandparents who are in their mid 70s now make a huge fancy Thanksgiving dinner every year and they have always put everything in disposable pans and we use thanksgiving themed paper plates and plain old red solo cups!
Interesting I did not know this
Good morning.
God Bless!
When the kids were little we called it "better than a snow day" cake. LOL.
Love it lol
Hi Amy , our thanksgiving has been here and passed!
Can you tell me the name of your serum I think I wood like that better than the news.At work.
My parents and I made cornish hens for Thanksgiving. Yummo!!!! Love your vlogs and family.
Thanks for sharing
Will you share your macaroni salad recipe with us! And your pear salad too! Please???
Have a wonderful day
Amy thank you for the love and heart on my comment
Amy l so enjoyed watching this video❤you rock
Love ya Ms deb
@@amymaryon Love Ya give the family my love
GOD BLESS
Homeade mac-n-cheese and stuffing are a huge thing in our house😁
I like the time warp .. lessens the week after let downs :)
I love watching your videos, I'm from the uk so we don't do thanks giving well only celebrate Christmas this time of year. Do you do a big meal Christmas day as well ? X
We do munchies
Thankyou for all thoughs wonderful tips. Everything looked delicious. God bless you and your family. Happy holidays 😊
I do my pudding pies on graham cracker crust
Thank you for this video. Im actually cooking our dinner this week since my husband worked all of thanksgiving week (hes military) 😊
