    This is EXACTLY the type of build this new rework encourages and I love it! Pyro before was always so samey, and now she's an absolute powerhouse with some of these slower staffs! I would play around a bit with melee choice here, I usually think the dagger nets you more reward on specifically Pyro because of her THP lineup and lack of real melee dmg increases, but you can't go wrong with a good fire sword.

      i often saw pyros with daggers but personally i dont see the big deal with it. i would allways prefer the flail or flame sword. whats the benefit of the dagger (next to movement speed)?

    • @Jalswim
      @Jalswim 9 месяцев назад

      @TheSchokomac Dagger has generally more mobility while attacking which feels important on a class that now opens up several movement speed talents, and it has a bit more armor damage than flame sword generally does on specifically Pyro since she doesn't have Famished to work with. Flail and fire sword definitely have cleaner CC, but I think the maneuverability of the dagger really is the main draw. Doesn't hurt that it's just very quick in general, doubly so on Pyro with her attack speed buffs, which coupled with the halved push cost makes it feel pretty safe even without the CC. I think it does come down to personal preference, the flail is a great option for her as well in my opinion.

      TBH, I tried the dagger. But I went back to the mainstay of plain sword and bolt staff.

      @greyfalconow9467 I do really like the sword too! To each their own on their preferences.

    I realize that new pyro encourages ranged playstyles now, but I miss the ease of generating high crit for melee. Sure it's about the same as before, but it's a little harder to get there with the larger overcharge bar. Nonetheless, I do respect the fact that Fatshark wanted to do some kind of balance patch, especially after such a long time without one. And, I appreciate that pyro now has that divide between herself and other sienna careers, even if it came at the cost of the current battle wizard's versatility.

    If you take power vs Skaven/Chaos on the Charm, you'll end up with the exact same breakpoints, except that you will also do extra damage to berserkers and monsters. (Skaven/Chaos counts for 100% of enemy types, while Armored/Infantry is 50% of enemy types.)

    • @WetMagic
      @WetMagic  9 месяцев назад +4

      You bring up a good point. I suppose it would be slightly more advantageous to do it that way just to cover berserkers too. Many thanks for the input 😁

    How can he be a pyromancer if he is wet?

  • @Davus
    @Davus 9 месяцев назад +4

    i went similar build except with bolt staff, monsters disapears easly 300-400 damage per bolt hit depending on Ride the fire wind :)
    Edit: or the second option i played was Spirit Casting for more crit chance instead of Ride the fire Wind i think all together it was 50% crit chance, so quite a lot, tried Blazing Echo with it but its way too big RNG even if its 50% and damage output isnt higher than with Dissipating Rictus. sometimes ull pull it off 3 times but then ur back to melee, as ur on big overcharge for the 50% crit chance + u dont really want to use Venting cuz of Spirit Casting in some cases, so yea

    The scythe is actually so good for stagger and thp, I usually engage with the slam, followed by a heavy attack, then repeat. Fire sword is just a little too boring to me 😩

    • @LemursManLemurs1
      @LemursManLemurs1 4 месяца назад

      I use scythe as well. Opportunist, crit chance and dmg vs chaos. And I do use smiter instead of enhanced power so I am good against chaos warriors and monsters. At a 7 percent ranged DMG sacrifice, which isn't much tbh

    Hot dam this build is sweet, car't believe may favourite staff finally found a build to call home and all this from just a couple of perk changes what took the devs so long:(

    I have to stare at the 'dont explode' timer at the bottom right so intently when using a similar beam staff build lol. My internal timing for it is very, very off.

    I tried this and lots of other builds too, but with the new pyromancer I keep blowing myself up xD
    I think its because of my muscle memory from the previous overheat bar, as I played pyro a lot even before the patch.

    Hey man, any chance you could make a guide for post-nerf battle mage? I don't understand how to play her now that her burn barely does anything (or maybe its coruscation staff that isn't usable now? idk), and there aren't any fresh guides for her i could find on yt.

      @Ix99oblivion 9 месяцев назад +2

      Well, now its a good class compared to other classes, indeed. But Battle Wizard and Unchained are still Sienna best classes. Hell, even with this buff from the patch, Pyromancer is still "worst" Sienna class (This is my opinion; And point is that even at the lowest tier, now its a good class to play with, in both Legend and in Cataclysm)

    I haven't played in ages and came back recently with the Necro release and patched. Really enjoying the new pyro and first time I've actually learned to use the dagger.

  • @covahredro8370

    I haven't tried her out much, as I mainly run with bots and Necromancer is a must. But I did I when with the Bolt Staff and the Coruscation Staff. So I was either Fire Javelining everything dead(like the Wutelgi's Javelin pre nerf), or going ham fire shot gunning everything to the face while spreading fire everywhere(like true pyromaniac would)

    I’ve been running a similar talent build, minus ride the fire wind for spirit casting, and swapping back and forth between on the precipice and one with the flame. However, with the weapons, I’ve been using the flaming flail and the bolt staff, which creates what I think is a better version of the pre-buff crit melee build that you could do with pyromancer. Although surprisingly enough, I’ve found that at least on legend if you can hit headshots with the bolt staff after using your ultimate, you can do a decent amount of monster damage, though that is rather circumstantial.
    I’ll have to start trying out ride the fire wind after this, since it seems like it corresponds with the level 30 talent better (or at least doesn’t rely upon it.)

      Bolt Staff still is king on BW for being able to hit all 1 hit breakpoints on body shot besides Chaos Warriors (2 shot Head Shot or 1 shot Crit Headshot). Bolt Staff on Pyro or Unchained can hit 1 hit body shot Breakpoints on everything besides Stormvermin, Maulers and Chaos Warriors. (If using Hunter Trait allows 1 shot body shot on Stormvermin)

    Have you ever tried Mythforce yet? It's very different from Vermintide in most ways...except for the combat which almost seems to be heavily inspired by Vermintide's. How does that game hold up and how are it's controls compared to Vermintide?

  • @prich0382
    @prich0382 9 месяцев назад +1

    Is Conflag Staff better on Pyro compared to Battle Wizard? BW still gets Famished Flames Bonus to DOT damage, but Pyro can more easily spam now, but Fire Sword for Temp HP generation is far better used on BW with Stagger THP so you can more easily vent whenever and get your health back.

    • @WetMagic
      @WetMagic  9 месяцев назад

      Agreed I still think battle wizard is a better class than pyro and conflag would be more effective on her, but the gap is not nearly as vast as it used to be between the two careers.

    Interesting build. I'm so used to the glass cannon pyro, idk where the changes leave me. I usually carried legend runs as a "huntsman with melee" using bolt staff. The new overheat is something to get used to..

  • @adrianaslund8605
    @adrianaslund8605 7 месяцев назад

    Pyro is one of those that I had trouble getting into. But she seems quite powerful in later levels. Baseline she has no reliable way to quell the winds without damaging herself and she has to do that alot. Later levels that can be ameliorated with talents.

    Why take opportunist on the weapon without any break points?

    • @prich0382
      @prich0382 9 месяцев назад

      Exactly, Fire Sword does not need Opportunist, you can stop Mauler/Stormvermin overheads already, Opportunist doesn't reach Breakpoints for Berserkers, Monks or Chaos Warriors

    • @WetMagic
      @WetMagic  9 месяцев назад

      It needs opportunist to be able to stagger plague monks out of their flurry attacks with H1. That's valuable enough to run it imo.
