- In this video we unbox a DIY guitar kit from Fesley. They sent me a single cut "Les Paul" style kit to build and demo on the channel, and I can say right out of the gate, this kit is very nice. I am impressed with the quality and sanding on the body, as well they have all the holes drilled out for every piece of hardware that goes in and on the guitar. It also is a solder free build, so the entire guitar can be constructed without soldering, so for those of you out there just starting out, or that hate to solder... this kit is for you! Everything was packed well and there were no missing parts. Lastly, the kit includes a full color instruction booklet on how to assemble and set up the guitar. That is something I have never seen included with kit builds before. I can't wait to start the project and film it for the channel. Coming soon! I hope you enjoyed the video. Please subscribe!

Way cool, Marty! Man that is one heck of a good looking kit! I mean... that instruction guide... wow. Who does that these days? LOL I love what this company has been doing lately. The Super Strats they've been putting out are awesome too - based on the vids and reviews I've seen. I love what these guys are doing! Can't wait to see what you do with this one! Gunna be KILLER I'm sure.

Cool video, I like these kinds of videos. Wonder if they have a 5150 type guitar with 80s Kramer headstock.. 🤔 I've seen kits around like that but high dollar for what you get. Thanks Marty

Actually, one of these kits would be a great idea for a partscaster project, I'm working on. The Strat one, to be exact.

Neck looks real nice. I did one of those stewmac kits and had to spend 2 to 3 hours on the neck. Looks like you are going to go right into bolt on mode :)
Looks pretty cool marty,sometimes it's a hit or miss w these kits,this guy bought a diy kit for his son and the parts that came w it were garbage so the dad bought better floyd rose type trem and let's just say it didn't go like it should've but he fixed it and it worked
Good looking kit
I was surprised with the quality of the Fesley kit. I got the pre finished 3 tone sunburst Strat style. It had some of the problems that many kit do, but the neck was a nice shape and the fretwork was better than any kit I've seen. There was some minor sprout that I really had to look close to find. I swapped out some of the components with ones that I had stashed away but I could have kept most of them and been just as happy with the final product. Compared to the 2 other strat style kits I've built, this one took the least work to get into a playable condition. Basically just a tiny truss rod adjustment to minimize fret buzz, and a few minor tweaks to the bridge. The action was high but not slide-guitar high like some kit necks. This would be my top recommendation for 1st time kit builders for sure.

Do you think it would sound good if i pick up a kit and put some black winter pickups on it, maybe a better bridge & tuners? or would i be better off getting a good guitar lol

They're charging only $10 more for a completely assembled guitar? Seems like they don't value their paint, assembly, and setup department very much. Or, they're making a huge profit for minimal effort on their end. But hey, if you want to overlook the aforementioned and fill the assembly, paint, and setup department positions like a self checkout line, that's your thing.
