Not sure why Tom Holland should be so in awe of Hanks ... I mean Hanks has only played one type of role thoughout his whole career which is as a likable nice guy who is sometimes goofy, thats all. And his really good at playing nice guys because he's playing himself !
Seriously people should look at all his roles, he acts the same way for all of them. Even Forrest Gump, Cast Away and Saving Private Ryan are nice guy roles. The only slightly wider range is shown in Philadelphia as a sick man but even that is a nice guy role !
Seriously he's not a great actor because he has not proven his range throughout his whole career because he has chosen to typecast himself and refuses to play another other roles except for roles that allows him to play a likable nice guy ...

Tom Holland is gaining massive experience working in the MCU. Learning from RDJ, Sam Jackson, Gylenhall. Being involved in those gigantic set pieces. Doing these insane press tours with A-listers........ and now he's getting free acting lessons from Tom Hanks (And even a handshake).

I can say the same thing for Dafne Keen (the actress who played X23 in Logan). She worked with Hugh Jackman , Patrick Stewart , Andy Garcia , James Mcavoy , Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ruth Wilson and she is only 13.

I came to this video to see if anyone else thought of this every time I watch That scene I think of this
Never really noticed it until now but when I think about it, I feel like I've seen countless interviews with Tom Holland and other guests where the others all act as either protective father figures or mentors over him. It's like the entirety of Hollywood recognizes he has the potential to be the biggest star in the world 15 years from now.
I finally understand Tom Hanks' magnitude as a celebrity. When Gwyneth and Jake look small in someone's presence then you know that person is iconic.
They are just regularly uncomfortable in the presence of an annoying person.

Did he really freeze up though? There were differences between the ways he delivered the line, they were a bit more subtle than probably people were expecting (which I'm guessing from my very limited stage acting experience) is probably more reflective of how they do it when shooting films as they probably already had a conversation with the director on the tone of the scene before starting to shoot.

Too right. People are so quick to undermine voice actors, slamming actors of animations, and even the CGI characters for movies like Vin Diesel (Groot). He has to convey the right emotion for the right situation in the exact same three words.
