Once i was petting, got my face close to her (not that close a good relative distance, i wasnt all up on her.) And she charged at me, bit my face and proceeded to drag me around. Needless to say i was in the emergency room.

He's a pit mix that we got as a puppy (med size, not large) from our friends and as he got old (he's about 16 now) he tries to scare me to stop clipping or something. He won't bite me but I'm not taking the chance & use the muzzle. I hate to but it's for both of us 🖤

I agree with the love part but there are many ways to discipline a dog. Recently, I lost my girl after having her for 13 years. She was a big dog (part pitbull) and I never had to speak that way to her. But I also understand that all dogs and their “owners” have their own style-just not mine.

What a little sweetheart, the dog knows they need cutting, but has to express the anxiety. The fact the dog picks up the nail clippers and puts them back on the owners lap just shows the bond between the two. Absolutely priceless.
On a totally different note, I once had an inside cat who knew he needed insulin shots. I would call out, "Tommy, its time for your shot" and he'd come running and jump up on the table and patiently wait for it.
A bond between the two? Priceless? I would be terrified of that dog, and it would not remain living with me for long. There doesn't seem to be any love and affection on either side.

As a trauma surgeon who's seen what much smaller and well-loved dogs can and will do, I highly recommend avoiding this kind of interaction with a dog. I have seen faces shredded and ripped off. Noses taken right off the face. It takes less than half a second, and then you have to euthanize the animal. Very traumatic for everyone. Please do not do this
But a lot of men built a certain way have a need to prove something, so they make a video of situations like this with an animal, so this guy will do this again. It's why women love to see a man with a yorkie, we know the man does not need to do this kind of thing.
instead of shouting at the dog which increases his fear of the clippers - he should be reassuring him and rewarding with treats whenever the dog stops showing his teeth, and sits, and gives his paw.

I had a friend recently do that, got her lip and chin chewed up just from a couple snaps from the dog. now they took her dog and it's being put to sleep. i wouldn't test it but he a G for that lol
It's just pure stupidity. It's been proved so many times that this alpha shit doesn't work. The only thing you get when you ignore a dog trying to tell you they are uncomfortable with what is happening is a dog that stops giving the warnings (growls) because no one is listening and jumps straight to biting to protect themselves! The smallest amount of positive training would give you a dog that will go collect the clippers then sit and calmly offer their paw without fear. Think about which method you would prefer...
Every dog is different, my rot never growled at me like that, but she did that same sound before she put an intruder in the hospital. Half a second is all it took.
I love this owner and his dog! We had a dog a Pomeranian and have schipperke, his name is fat Albert! He was a good man he lived for 17 1/2 years. He had two hearts! What a little sweetheart, the dog knows they need cutting, but has to express the anxiety. The fact the dog picks up the nail clippers and puts them back on the owners lap just shows the bond between the two. Absolutely priceless.
On a totally different note, I once had an inside cat who knew he needed insulin shots. I would call out, "Tommy, its time for your shot" and he'd come running and jump up on the table and patiently wait for it.
A bond between the two? Priceless?
I would be terrified of that dog, and it would not remain living with me for long. There doesn't seem to be any love and affection on either side.

This is what my girls like she understands me too she can have her naughty moments but the minute I start talking to her with my mum voice she calms down and then once she calms down I say there was no need to do whatever she did say sorry and when I say say sorry she gives cuddles and kisses 😂😂❤❤

As a trauma surgeon who's seen what much smaller and well-loved dogs can and will do, I highly recommend avoiding this kind of interaction with a dog. I have seen faces shredded and ripped off. Noses taken right off the face. It takes less than half a second, and then you have to euthanize the animal. Very traumatic for everyone. Please do not do this
But a lot of men built a certain way have a need to prove something, so they make a video of situations like this with an animal, so this guy will do this again. It's why women love to see a man with a yorkie, we know the man does not need to do this kind of thing.
instead of shouting at the dog which increases his fear of the clippers - he should be reassuring him and rewarding with treats whenever the dog stops showing his teeth, and sits, and gives his paw.
I have a harness you can't get a dog off the ground in. It's much safer than this. I've had multiple Rotts and this shit would not fly with me.

I had a friend recently do that, got her lip and chin chewed up just from a couple snaps from the dog. now they took her dog and it's being put to sleep. i wouldn't test it but he a G for that lol

It's just pure stupidity. It's been proved so many times that this alpha shit doesn't work. The only thing you get when you ignore a dog trying to tell you they are uncomfortable with what is happening is a dog that stops giving the warnings (growls) because no one is listening and jumps straight to biting to protect themselves! The smallest amount of positive training would give you a dog that will go collect the clippers then sit and calmly offer their paw without fear. Think about which method you would prefer...
Every dog is different, my rot never growled at me like that, but she did that same sound before she put an intruder in the hospital. Half a second is all it took.
I love this owner and his dog! We had a dog a Pomeranian and have schipperke, his name is fat Albert! He was a good man he lived for 17 1/2 years. He had two hearts! But he would grow and snarl like this constantly! He would never bite you in the face ever! And this dog reminds me of fat Albert!
