It's illegal in Australia to dock their tails and I agree with that law but can confirm that if a wagging Rotty tail hits you in the eye or testicles (I've experienced both), you kinda understand WHY they were docked. I'd rather be punched in the face tbh, it REALLY hurts!
@@MichaelJP it is stupid to outlaw it. Many of them get tails docked for health concerns for the dog itself. They are a massive breed with very high energy and the long tail can easily put them in compromising positions, especially in cases of home defense which they are great for, or working land which is what they are breed for. While I do like seeing them with tails it makes complete sense for most to want them docked.

All my Rottie's we're like this when we brought a new "family" member home. Our last was a Blue Pittie, rescued from a fighting situation. (They were dumping her at the pound because she wouldn't fight) We just happen to be walking in to look for our next rescue & we took her right then & there in the parking lot. She was only 12 weeks old, full of scars & her ears were poorly cut w/rusty scissors, almost down to her head😭 Got her home & my Rottie somehow knew he needed to go slow w/her. Within 2 days, she was jumping on him, bringing him toys & running around the yard. They're favorite pastime is tug of war😆 She is now a healthy happy 5 yr old. We also have 2 other dogs & 2 cats. She just adores the kitties, despite all she had been through ❤️🐾
God, it makes me so sad thinking about what some animals go through. I'm SO GLAD you were the lovely people to adopt this traumatised dog. A lot of the time, puppies (especially young ones) benefit from this socialisation! They love knowing “oh, I can trust this animal!“ or “oh, here’s where I can hide!” Or “here’s how I should behave at dinner time” ❤️❤️
Dozer is so amazing with the puppies. It’s amazing how love and trust and acceptance comes naturally to dogs, yet humans can’t seem to get it together at all.
@RoderickTheRed bruh my sisters Rottweiler did the same. He'd kill rabbits, baby rabbits, birds, and neighborhood cats who got too close. Thats just a big dog thing, alot of them were used for hunting dogs. So like I said this dogs killed rabbits and cats, and then my dumbass decided to get a kitten. Hilarious enough he adjusted well, but the other dog (boxer great dane mix) got bullied by the cat when she was a kitten. The rottie doesn't borther the cat the cat doesnt bother him. I even caught them snuggling. You gotta introduce them slowly calming. Also puppies are your safest bet. Dogs arent goldfish they wont canablize or kill their young. The most important part is introducing right.

I love Rotties. I've had 4 myself over the years and they are such great dogs. They know their strength and capabilities and will be very gentle with puppies and small breed dogs as well. They are also great with babies and small children. They are tough dogs and don't get hurt very easily, so if a baby or small child pulls their ears or slaps them, it doesn't hurt them plus they acknowledge that these small humans mean them no harm and like a puppy. They are very gentle and even protective over a baby or toddler. I'd take my Rotts to dog parks often and some people would be afraid that they would hurt their puppy, but I assured them not to worry. They would love to play with the puppies and act just like one themselves. Like I said; they know their strength and power and are very gentle with puppies. They would even submit to the puppies by running from them and then lying down when the puppy was playing and biting them. There's something calming about Rottweilers that puppies pick up on. They sense that they're safe to be around them and try to engage them in playing with them.
Rotties are such gentle giants. My family has had three in total. Two were when I was very young, maybe a toddler. My parents never planned on having rotties btw, one just followed my mom home one day and she was like “well guess we have a second dog now.” They we’re practically second mothers to my brother and I. They’d come check on us constantly and would follow us around the house and let us lean on them for support when we were learning to walk. Our current rottie is my boy. He is so good with kids. He’s normally very rambunctious but he’s like hyper aware of himself when he’s around small children, he makes sure not to knock someone over. He’ll find the nervous ones and just sit on their foot and lean against them. He’s the sweetest boy.
My first experience with Rottweiler is when I was about 7-8 y old. My family just moving to new house and greet new neighbor, who got this really big dog. The dog looks really scary and intimidating, but he really nice and friendly to us (in first meeting) I forgot his name already, but I never forgot my first impression
I had one from elementary through high-school. Was almost like a babysitter. Waited for us to catch bus to school then be waiting for us to get home. Used to practice his herding skills with my bro a sis when we had deep snow running back and fourth knocking us over to stay put. 😆 Love Rottweilers!

Their response was to cut the legs off of the coffee table so his tail went right over the glasses. LOL
No, it was over to fast! I loved it when Dozer had his arm across her belly to stop her. Yes he’s big, that doesn’t mean he’s aggressive. More people & animals are bitten by small dogies, rather than big ones. ♥️🐾🐾

Such an adorable little menagerie ❤️ Btw, I love that the Rottweilers have their tails 🥰❤️😍
That is simply outstanding that you guys could afford another puppy for the older puppy, as probably most people can't. But still, I'd do the same thing if I could, so great to see them so happy.
Ouch. You have literally no idea about what they can and can't afford, and that's your comment. Go away, jelly.

Heart warming to see rotties with their tails intact ❤
@@InfiniteKhaos The only reason I see for most really wanting them docked is looks, they wouldn't have them if they weren't supposed to.
No idea how tails affect their defensive/working abilities, you got a source for that belief?
@@MichaelJP it's not a belief it's literally the reason people do it. For home defense it's so criminals can't pick them up by the tail and render them useless. For land work it's so they don't get their tail caught up and get trampled on... You want sources? A simple Google search might help

She just adores the kitties, despite all she had been through ❤️🐾
Thank you for being a rescuer!
God, it makes me so sad thinking about what some animals go through. I'm SO GLAD you were the lovely people to adopt this traumatised dog. I'm so happy to hear she's finally in a family that loves and cares for her with other animals to keep her company. Thank you for adopting. So worthwhile. Wishing you all the best

By the dogs behavior you can see it is a very calm, safe, and loving environment they live in.

What a cute friendship! The Rottie is so gentle!
This is a family pet and is a reflection of the owner and not a beast like some owners create. Beautiful scene
Y'all have me just all emotional at work!! This story is super cute in every way!!! Got to see a part two when the pups get older.
Dog’s personality always reflects the owner’s.
@Wynn General personality of lovingness and friendliness are reflection of the owner
Thats really true . My dog hates kids but when she met my neighbor 2 months old puppy she is so gentle with her. I think my dog really take my personality that much

How?
@@JimmySnakes Because it really depends how the dog is raised. Like humans they grow to be like how they grew up.
They are. I have a Boxer and he loves Rotties.

@@danadavis6097 That's because most people don't train small dogs. They think it's "cute" when their little dog barks, growls, bares its teeth, nips, gets protective of sleeping /eating spaces, toys or food.
