All Rick does to change universes is he looks for one where a choice they or someone else makes gets them all killed. The reason why it's so hard to do and why they can only do it X number of times is the differences start to get too great to integrate smoothly. We are actually seeing that right now with the Parmesean thing.

All in all, I was, and still am, so very disappointed in Rick's therapist!! She was such a very good thing to happen to Rick all the way until that moment when she put literally all of the blame on Rick. Even when it wasn't his fault!! This is THE number one episode in all of Rick and Morty, where Rick was 100% not at fault or even said/did anything remotely wrong!! Like seriously, what the actual fudge?!

Well, we know that this universe had a smith family(including a space beth). Which means that atleast some of their stories are the same. And there are more than just 1 Rick who is trying to kill Rick prime.
This universe had everything happen exactly the same except they pronounce parmesan as Parmeeeeseeun
@MegaAlchemist123 think of it this way, every choice they make leaves a branch in the timeline that mirrors theirs. All Rick does to change universes is he looks for one where a choice they or someone else makes gets them all killed. The reason why it's so hard to do and why they can only do it X number of times is the differences start to get too great to integrate smoothly. We are actually seeing that right now with the Parmesean thing.

I have a family member who is a nutritionists and the food she brought to a Christmas party was shrimp stir-fry, but it tasted like how a dock smells with all the algae, salt, and cloudy water.
