I just watched a video from another creator I respect and she said essentially alt text was a waste of time for the most part. regarding ads- yes! i have taken the route you suggested even though most others, besides you, say to only run ads after some sales come in. I have been open 2 months selling home decor (through printify) and have 64 sales. The way I see it- yes it can get sales but ALSO running ads gets attention that can then convert to hearts or in carts/abandoned carts- and I have 10% off coupons through email for both. So I am convinced I have gotten some sales that way. Well worth it in my opinion. I currently have a pillow thats in more than 20 carts. Don't know if that would be the case w/out having run ads.

Never heard that. I’ve only said to use tags, but don’t expect them to be a magic bullet to get ranked. The magic bullet is getting sales on a good title with keyword with demand.

How would you recommend giving my shop a makeover? I have finally "found my brand" for display images and want to make my storefront be cohesive, but my earlier listings do not match. Will it be detrimental to my highly viewed listings? I do only have 5 sales (3 organic) and a couple 5 star reviews (1 organic), but I think I have finally gained momentum with traffic this last week, so I don't want to break that.

Thanks for this helpful info! Can you please clarify the difference between multiple long-tails versus keyword stuffing? (for example, is "silver earrings" and "stud earrings" stuffing or is it a good use of long-tail keywords)
That example probably wouldn't be "stuffing" per se, but the question is always, is there a better way to phrase it, without having to repeat keywords needlessly. E.g. Silver Stud Earrings instead of including both keyword phrases when that single phrase does the job AND most accurately describes the product, make sense?
@brandcreators it does, thanks for the reply! Everyone emphasizes long-tail but it seems like so long as the words are all there, the order doesn't matter? (I'm actually in the digital planner world so everything right now is "undated planner" "realistic planner" "undated notebook" etc.)
Scott, to clarify, are you saying that sales velocity via Etsy Ads will help you to rank higher in organic search? As an Amazon seller, I believe sales through ads do give you organic "rank juice", but watching other RUclips videos on this topic, especially from Nick, the EtsyConsultant, it is suggested that the Organic and Ads algorithms on Etsy are completely separate and therefore getting sales via Ads has no impact on organic ranking. Thoughts?
The way I see it is if you get sales Etsy will push that listing. No matter if it 's in organic or paid. Plus, what others don't talk about is when you get more sales you also get more reviews which helps convert sales higher. Hope that helps.
Sari, the second I heard the so called Etsy Consultant say you don't need keyword research tools to do proper keyword research, I turned his video off!
I would not trust the words of anyone who said that.
And yes, sales velocity, especially when you're new is super important, and ads can help you achieve it (velocity).
I look at them (ads) like buying my placement in the algorithm. I expect this matters less once you're established, but matters a lot when you're new.
Hi Scott..I was just wondering if there any limit on the number of listings we can post on Etsy per day as a new seller?I have 150 t-shirt designs Ready to go for my General print-on-demand apparel store on Etsy but not sure if I can post all 150 per day or should I take it slow and post 50 designs per day for the next 3 days! I would appreciate your response,thanks!

FYI the Alt Text for images is important, but not how you are presenting it. This is for individuals who are visually impaired. It should be a description of your product (and if you have different options with images, each image needs alt text). The description should be very descriptive, you have 250 characters, so that if I am color blind, or have a vision impairment, I can know exactly what your item is, include size, color (s), if it is a shirt or something to wear include sleeve and neckline type and a description of any captions, phrases or wording, and what any images are, for example a dancing pink dinosaur on a crew neck, short sleeve t-shirt, made in 100% ring spun cotton. Many times, this text is read to the person viewing the image. My sister is blind so this is kind of important to me.
Tried open store on etsy in day 1, adding 10 listing.
Day 2 get sales.
Day 3 delivery digital product from sales, reseach more product for more listing
Day 4 get suspended.
Day 5 i get sad 😢 why etsy suspend with the reason policy .
This is common when they are validating your shop with banking and address stuff. Make sure you validate your info
@@brandcreators yes , i do appeal and get rejected. First time selling on etsy and make my first sales. But Etsy do something bad for my time and pain .
If images so important you would think printify would give u better choices
Printify isn't responsible for your images and they partner with a places that can help, like place it
tags and keywords are not the same. so when you talk about everbee and then talk about the keywords that are used in that listing, this is NOT what these listings have in their tags. it's just the keywords that they are using.
