I have had this door from the first day I put my young birds into the coop and it has worked beautifully! I work very early and leave in the dark. I also have to work after dark often in the winter and I don’t have to worry about letting them in or out. It’s been a godsend and has worked perfectly. The batteries have lasted almost 5 months and still have 20% left on them. The unit will display this. Highly recommend!
That’s awesome! We still love ours too. We’re at 11 months and still have not had to change the batteries - although I bet we’re close. We haven’t had any issues at all. It’s been so nice!
The doors I’ve tried also broke because all the chickens try to get out before the door is all the way open and it would push it off track and stop working. How does this work.
This one is not loose on its track at all so they couldn’t push it off if they tried. It’s still working great for us and we haven’t had any issues at all!
I use the omelet doors for my nesting boxes what I use for my coop is a much better door on chicken doors which is called that pulllet shut door. The photosensor option on the door I have for my coop works flawlessly. I tried the light sensor feature with the omelet door and it's too hit and miss which is why I ended up just using the time feature and only using the door on my nesting boxes to keep my hens in the nesting boxes. If you get a chance check it out I have one that I've used for 12 or 13 years and it's very dependable it's all metal it opens left to right or right to left it's a pivoting door pivots outward very dependable and reliable you might consider adding it to your Coop or at least taking peek at it
Yes! We haven’t had any issues at all. We still love it. I’ve replaced the batteries once at the year mark and we are a few months shy of two years now.
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience! Do you guys have the one with the coop light or without? I'm trying to decide if the light is necessary or not. Thanks!
Good Day, the auto door opener has been amazing. Ran into an issue and hoping someone might have an answer. After replacing batteries, several times, the panel will not reflect greater than 40%. Today I changed them, with brand new quality batteries, and the panel only shows 20%. When changing batteries do they need to be kept out for a period of time? Not sure if it's related but a few days ago the door stopped opening in the morning and has to be manually opened. The door sure is better than having to go out in the cold to open or close! Thank you
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble! We haven’t had those issues, but my first suggestion would be to do the factory reset in the menu. After resetting, I’d contact Eglu if that doesn’t fix the problem.
I know it's been a while since you made this video and I would like to ask you is it still working for you. I am considering purchasing one of these doors. Thanks for you're time.
Yes! We still love it and the only issue we’ve ever had with it was our error, not the doors. I did a one year review of it here - Omlet Automatic Chicken Door - 1 Year Review ruclips.net/video/N6hgsLZwJw8/видео.html
If you have your close timer set for a specific time and you close the door early, will it remain closed? we had an issue where our previous door (different brand) kept re-opening if we had to close up shop early
Yes it will! If it’s already closed, it leaves it alone. It seems to know the difference between open and close, so the command to close won’t change anything until the morning’s command to open.
Sounds like you have some girls full of vigor! 😂🙌I think we're going to get one! Thanks for sharing!

Have you had to deal with poo or bedding or anything being kicked or drug or …Pooed into the door track? Thanks!
No!! I have been so pleasantly surprised. I have never had to mess with it.

Thanks! I will definitely check it out. Why do you have the door on your nesting boxes? To keep them out of them at night? Thanks for commenting!
Is it still working?
Yes! We haven’t had any issues at all. We still love it. I’ve replaced the batteries once at the year mark and we are a few months shy of two years now.

Thank you! We do not have the light. We’ve almost never needed one and on the occasion we check on them at night we have a flashlight anyway.

Do you have to clean the track it runs along?
No! We haven’t had to clean it out at all!

Will it fit a fat orphington hens
Yes! We have a Jersey Giant rooster and he fits no problem!
😂😂😂
I'm not sure why, but I found your comment to be hilarious!
I can't stop laughing!
Im enjoying your page, so I've been sharing it. Hope that's ok.
