This might be a silly question but once the Visa is approved and the spouse comes to the UK. Is the sponsor and spouse able to freely travel to other countries or is there a limit on the amount of time? I.e sponsor and spouse go to country X for 3 weeks within 6 months of spouse arriving in the UK. Thank you so much for these videos they are very informative and laid out clearly!
Hi @scl9671, You are most welcome! There is no set amount of days that can be spent outside the UK on a partner visa when it comes to the extension or ILR application. With this being said, since a requirement of a visa extension and ILR application is the intention to live in the UK permanently, if a substantial amount of time is spent outside of the UK whilst the applicant is on a partner visa, this may give rise to doubts regarding the applicant’s intention to live in the UK permanently. The reason and length of time are relevant factors here. I believe we discuss the intention to live together requirement in our UK Spouse Visa Requirements 2024 RUclips video. Following your example of going to a country for 3 weeks within 6 months of the applicant arriving in the UK, this is absolutely fine. I hope the above helps. Kind regards, The Migrate.org.uk team.
Hi @TheDataDJ, Despite the advice from TLS/VFS that priority applications are not advised if the applicant has previously been refused a visa, we've seen that applicants who opt for the priority service who have previously been refused a visitor visa tend to get their decision within 30 working days. There is no set amount of days that can be spent outside the UK on a partner visa when it comes to the extension or ILR application.

If only one visitor visa to the uk has been refused. Is the priority service worth it? Is only a visitor visa.
