LukeTheDrifter07 Imagine, you walk into the Detroit wasteland, a small booth catches your eye among a wall of crumbling ruins. The man in the booth greets you happily, "Yo, wazzup mah niggah, this is Detroit, fam. The only place that didn't get blowed up n' shit"
CesarTheKing That's the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel - the game Fallout: Tactics is all about them. Basically, they're a BoS splinter group that was sent east to check for Super Mutant remnants after Fallout 1, and they got stranded in the far Midwest (the game starts around the Chicago/Lake Michigan area). They only re-established contact with Lost Hills after the events of Tactics, and they refused to submit to Lost Hills' authority and went rogue - which is why Rothchild mentions that they dropped off the radar in Fallout 3. They also started recruiting outsiders and mutants throughout the course of Tactics, which wouldn't have done them any favours. It seems like they eventually ran into Caesar's Legion too, going by the fact that Caesar mentions the Legion capturing Brotherhood scrives in Colorado. The Midwestern BoS got as far west as Cheyenne Mountain by the end of Tactics, so they seem like the most obvious candidate.
They should get in touch with Obsidian / remnants of Black Isle, they were there from the start, nobody knows Fallout lore like they do. Plus, they're really in to dialouge with the fanbase, probably because they're a smaller company.
If you ever ask why Bethesda won’t get so and so to do their properties for them so it’s better...the answer is because Bethesda is salty as fuck that they can’t do it good on their own. It’s why they didn’t let anyone else do dlc for fallout 4 even after 4 was getting mixed reviews only a month after release, even after obsidian had proven their worth with new Vegas and its success (moreso after the first big new Vegas patch) its a sad way to run a company, but fallout 4 and elder scrolls online have proven that Bethesda is getting scuttled and are too stubborn to ask for help.
The Pitt sounds promising, indeed. Imagine! We can restore our vertibird fleet withing months rather than years! We'll also be able to reverse engineer and build one of our own Liberty Primes with those resources! And if everything goes as planned, we'll have another Mobile Platform Base operational withnin two years! Maybe three. We'll begin a clensing operation to secure the Pitt. Once it's secured, we'll resume our restoration effort. Truly, these are glorious times for the Enclave.
The Capital wasteland raiders are a miner annoyance because they are un organized so an army of military trained raiders that are heavily armed and well organized is going to posse a problem for the broken Enclave force. But if you should manage to wipe out the Pitt Raiders chances are there will be structure damage such as power failure with in the raider encampment and then you would also have to deal with the wild men and Trogers(troger like humans).
Regarding Fallout 4, we pretty much know where it's going to take place, not for sure, but we all know what it's probably going to be. Don't get me wrong, the Commonwealth would be a great place for the game, but I have another interesting idea. The city of Detroit is a hell hole now, but in the 1950s it was an American powerhouse. With the split timeline, Detroit could possibly be the most advanced city in the Fallout universe. Combine that with it's classic Motown culture, and we've got a hell of a ride gentlemen.
I kinda like that idea but Detroit is more middle of the country. Bethesda tends to stay to the east while the successors to Interplay like Obsidian stay on the west coast. Would be nice if the two worked together on a Detroit game, essentially meeting up in the middle of the country. Bethesda makes the environments while Obsidian does much of the writing for characters. Get Josh Sawyer or Chris Avellone to work on it, probably Avellone who actually played Fallout 3 and enjoyed it.

There's official art of a Fallout: Louisiana scene where a giant alligator is throwing a car at a vault dweller. I think they scrapped it for gatorclaws though.
Fun fact. Even though Pennsylvania is known for steel and Pittsburg is known as steel city, Pennsylvania’s biggest mill (and the biggest mill in the US) was actually in a city closer to Philadelphia. Bethlehem Steel.
The Pitt (& perhaps Oasis to a lesser extent) was pretty much the only time you got to make any interesting, meaningful choice in fallout 3. Up until the end of that DLC, I'd just been running around like some paladin of the wastes, mindlessly selecting the 'good' options, this actually made me think. I really hope Bethesda allow whoever wrote it to have greater impact on Fallout 4, it needs more moral ambiguity.
It is one of those decisions where the good choice is not obvious when you finally have to decide and so when I choose I made sure I had listen to everything both sides had to offer and in the end I choose to not take the baby because otherwise there is very low potential for the cure to be found. Also it was not like other choices where the good choice is staring you in the face with a massive sign above its head saying "good choice".
Dude, I completely agree. I really wish that the guys who made New Vegas would come over and join Bethesda. That way they could help make both TES and Fallout better.
They HAVE TO team up with obsidian entertainment, while the atmosphere and size of fallout 3 are better, the fraactiin system and choices in fallout nv are muuuuch better.
I'd like to comment on just what a well considered story the Pitt had to offer during the Fallout 3 experience. It featured a true moral dilemma, unlike with the rest of the Fallout 3 experience. Honestly, is there a good ending to the Pitt's story? You either aid the slaves and murder a baby's loving parents and deliver her into the hands of people who might not be the best qualified to care for her, in addition to halting the progress that so many have died for? Or, do you end the revolt and perpetuate the sick cycle in the hopes that it might one day yield fruit? I'm genuinely interested to hear anyone's reasoning for either choice.
to me I sided with the slaves only reason why though is that he was taking slaves from the capital wasteland he one of the big reasons why slavers are a problem in the captial if he was only taking people from the pit itself I would have sided with him
@@Iqbalx1 Thing is he cant just take people from the Pitt. This is because most of them are either dead or turned into Trogs long ago. The only people who live in The Pitt now are slaves brought from elsewhere and the raiders who run it themselves. That means that overall the Pitt is only viable if Ashur is allowed to maintain his slave connections. I still shut down the Pitt anyways unless I'm roleplaying an evil character because no matter the good intentions the ends dont justify the means. Slavery in order to restore railways isnt worth it when if you think about it most raiders will to find ways to guerilla tactics the trains and steal everything they can making trade worthless. They could expedite travel but the only wastelands truly worth going to are New California and the Capitol Wasteland. NCR because they have a formal government and a strong presence with easily adaptable albeit slow leadership as well as having a great understanding and control of important resources. The Capitol Wasteland because water is in easier access then almost anywhere else and because the main threats there have been largely shut down. Most of the mutants are dead and the Enclave were forced to flee. Just steer clear of a certain sewer full of deathclaws and you'll more than likely do fine. I guess I could see people going to diamond city as well, but that carries the risk of being attacked by one of the many prevalent raider gangs, being apprehended by the brotherhood, kidnapped by the remnants of the Institute, or getting stuck out in the Glowing Sea depending on where the train passes through and if the train runs out of water or its power sources (coal, oil, or nuclear idk which would be used in Fallout lore after all the US took all the fossil fuel stock and they also were the only nation to have nuclear fusion figured out so any of the three could be the case depending on what Ashur got running if the Pitt was allowed to continue).
For me, I can never condone slavery, not for any reason, not even in a video game. Still, it does make you wonder if even if you help the slaves if the cycle will continue. Hard to know.
I sometimes watch y'all's Elder Scrolls Lore, but in my honest opinion every two weeks these quick short videos are the things I look forward to and reading the comment section. It's nice to know there are several people who love the game series and the great abundance of back story to the many characters and places throughout the year! #FalloutLove
I love you guys' videos! Everytime I watch a new one, I'm just blown away by the care and attention to detail you give. It has honestly been a treat each and every time so far, and I know it will until the end. Keep going, ShoddyCast; you're the best!
Some tell the story of a mad, non-feral Ghoul living in the Pitt called The Tree. The Tree consumes alcohol nonstop and rambles about his frustrations with something called "The Stillers" from before the war.
Shoddy. These videos have an insane amount of effort, I personally thank you for expanding my knowledge on fallout for the past year. Before then I still had a pretty good idea on the lore, but you still manage to amaze me with interesting facts I've never known. Keep up the good work!
@@marklynch564 I hope Bethesda gives them an official title somewhere down the line, maybe “The Reclaimers” or, “The Founders” or something like that, it’d definitely make discussing the events of the game a lot easier to do
Since this episode is about the Pittsburgh and the Riddle of Steel, I'd like to say R.I.P. to both James Earl Jones and Jason Damron AKA The Storyteller. May your Nuka Colas always be Quantum.
I loved the Pitt DLC, especially since I'm from Pittsburgh. They only touched on what they could do with the city, though, and I think they should release DLC or massive mods in the future fallout games re-visiting the city. Maybe they could make a game focused on what happened to the cities on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers? That would be awesome... I'm already thinking of ideas for fallout 5 :D
The potholes in the roads here suggest Pittsburgh became a utopia compared to what it is now. Even 200 years after the bombs dropped, the potholes in the roads are far smaller than Pittsburgh's potholes in the 2020s.
This is definitely a late comment but I just wanna say that I love the new intro. It's short and simple and I love how the bullet has "SHODDYCAST PRESENTS" on it. I know it's been done before but it definitely fits the Fallout vibe. I love how you show the Storyteller throughout parts of the video too. Not sure what armor that is but it looks kool. Can't wait to see all this volume has to offer. I love these videos. Keep up the awesome work!
You guys are fantastic, truly. Being an avid player of both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I can see all the hard work that went into making these. The fact that not only you continued your Fallout Lore series but took it not one, but several steps up, is amazing. You guys deserve all the support you get.
MrSwordFish SourCandyIDK At least in NV you have DLC's brimmed and/or had unique content/mechanics. Namely Old World Blues and Lonesome Road. And to my personal preference, Dead Money.
We'll probably never know fallout is about America after the Great War so it should always be set in America and also I'm pretty sure that if Bethesda made a whole game set in another country there would be a backlash from a bunch of hardcore original fallout fans. Probably the closest we get to see another country in fallout would be dlc or a game set in Canada since according to fallout lore was annexed by the U.S.
DANtheMANofSIPA There's no mention of the USSR having any conflict with anyone. USSR and the USA even had open borders. EU and the Middle East fucked eachother up, USA and China fucked eachother up. But USSR, nothing.
DANtheMANofSIPA Nah, when you see Earth from space the whole planet has this green taint to it. Everything is irradiated to shit. But maybe the russian cities aren't absolutely wrecked, who knows.
carcotasu081 I bet you some will mistake the Metro series for being Russia in the Fallout series. I just hope it doesn't happen, but somebody might. Though I think that Russia in Fallout might look similar to how Russia in Metro looks.
I greatly appreciate the quality of these and the time that is put in to make them, thats what makes them great. That is also why I wish you guys could do more, because I, along with most ShoddyCast subs, enjoy these so much
One of my favorite occurrences in video game history is when I’m traversing the wasteland and I run into two factions waging war. Usually I sit back and watch, unless I’m emotionally invested in one of the sides. So satisfying.
Absolutely LOVE these episodes. It really really REALLY nice how you guys ''walk'' through the story as a person. The beginning is awesome and these episodes are the best! This is quality.

I just love everything you guys do. the Elder Scroll series is the best out there as well. Basically just everything you guys do. thank you again
Ashur was a brilliant character who showed us that sometimes you must commit a little evil for the greater good. That's why I almost always sided with him.
I liked the pitt just because i like the moral dilemma and how i took all your items and you had to ride to the top again which i did relatively fast because i just stayed in that junkyard area and collected a FUCK TON of iron bars
The people with the largest chance of a reformed civilization in my opinion would have to be the Brotherhood Of Steel. It seems like they may be going through tough times right now but with enough courage and sneaky recruiting i think that they could pose a serious thereat to anyone who thinks they are stronger. Furthermore, the BoS has Chapters in the middle east and west of the united states (midwest BoS).
Lone Wanderer With that in mind then my opinion is that the DC chapter of the BoS has the largest chance due to them being protected by the Lone Wanderer and also that they seem to have the best ideals. Furthermore they also have the largest amount of men (not counting mid-west BoS, they recruit nasty mutant scum).
Im srry but i have to say that NCR is going to rule, i dont like the idea but deep inside my guts tell me that they will get far more power, their army concept is strength in numbers and we have seen what happened to the BoS mojave chapter if they tryed to fight them even with superior equipment.
Excellent job again ShoddyCast, really good episode. The Pitt DLC is my favorite in Fallout 3. This was a really enjoyable episode; I can't wait for the Halloween episode in Point Lookout. As for person or group that stands the best chance of realizing their vision. I think Vance and the Family from Fallout 3 or Joshua Graham and the Dead Horses on a small scale because they are meeting their goals and expectations for survival. On a larger scale I would say Elder Lyons his chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel. Because his group isn't sticking to the rigged rules and dogma of the Brotherhood as much also because they are seeking to make a difference in the Capital Wasteland.
No one knows what happened anywhere but america, except they were obviously hit. They Would Literally have free range to make their own story without anyone yelling about cannon
The problem with having it in other countries is it may as well be a new game. There would be no vaults no power armor no known faction from past games. Almost no weapons because most countries have very strict gun laws and since the us doesn't it's makes sense there are so many guns.
I would love a deep south fallout game. Imagine rad-alligators. FEV-giant hogs... the mutations are endless.

I agree
Like new vegas did
It is one of those decisions where the good choice is not obvious when you finally have to decide and so when I choose I made sure I had listen to everything both sides had to offer and in the end I choose to not take the baby because otherwise there is very low potential for the cure to be found.
These videos are stil gold.
I love to watch them while waiting for the Fallout 5 to arrive...Whenever that is...
+Peter Hanson Well progress is progress. Put down the revolt so that everything wasn't for nothing.
to me I sided with the slaves only reason why though is that he was taking slaves from the capital wasteland he one of the big reasons why slavers are a problem in the captial if he was only taking people from the pit itself I would have sided with him
@@Iqbalx1 Thing is he cant just take people from the Pitt.
"Joe's a true American hero."
I saw that.
“No reliable sources on what The Pitt looked like shortly after the Great War”
*Vault 76 Dwellers have entered the chat*
Lmaoo the together alone will get to know
76 dwellers aren't as cool as "the chosen one" or "the sole survivor" so I just make shit up and call them "alone together"
@@marklynch564 I hope Bethesda gives them an official title somewhere down the line, maybe “The Reclaimers” or, “The Founders” or something like that, it’d definitely make discussing the events of the game a lot easier to do
I would imagine a TV series, based on Fallout. The Universe has an amazing potetial for a mature, violent and with good humor, which people love.
This comment aged well
It truly did, especially after that trailer.
Awesome work guys! I'm glad to see my donations go to good use.
I'm looking forward to the rest of volume 2!
Good to see Pittsburgh hasn't changed. 😁😁
Love the new format... sick outro and music. Thanks
Glorious!! Absolutely GLORIOUS!!!
Bravo!!
I love this.... Anything with fallout is awesome... Sir you got me hooked!!
You guys are fantastic, truly. Being an avid player of both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I can see all the hard work that went into making these. The fact that not only you continued your Fallout Lore series but took it not one, but several steps up, is amazing. You guys deserve all the support you get.
Can't wait till the next episode, Great work! :D
I wasn't too sure on the new format at first guys, but now I love it, I like the adventurer POV feel to it, it really works.
Of all places in FO3, I absolutely loved the Pitt and the DLC too.
Too bad the DLC is fucking short.
I thought all the DLCs were short, especially New Vegas DLC
MrSwordFish SourCandyIDK At least in NV you have DLC's brimmed and/or had unique content/mechanics. Namely Old World Blues and Lonesome Road. And to my personal preference, Dead Money.
I have to admit your lore is amazing. Much entertainment and I wish you guys to keep up the good work
I wonder what chernobyl looks like now(fallout universe)
We'll probably never know fallout is about America after the Great War so it should always be set in America and also I'm pretty sure that if Bethesda made a whole game set in another country there would be a backlash from a bunch of hardcore original fallout fans. Probably the closest we get to see another country in fallout would be dlc or a game set in Canada since according to fallout lore was annexed by the U.S.
DANtheMANofSIPA USSR was neutral with everyone in Fallout.
That is also why I wish you guys could do more, because I, along with most ShoddyCast subs, enjoy these so much
interactive holotapes=video games
Wow, this is AWESOME. Good job with all the camera angles and the survival guide aspect. I definitely want more of these videos.
Loving the new episodes!
One of my favorite occurrences in video game history is when I’m traversing the wasteland and I run into two factions waging war. Usually I sit back and watch, unless I’m emotionally invested in one of the sides. So satisfying.
You should release a episode on October 23!!
63 years until the Vault doors close.
Wow these are all extremely well don, you've got my subscribe
The Pitt was a great DLC and Ashur was a good character
Absolutely LOVE these episodes. It really really REALLY nice how you guys ''walk'' through the story as a person. The beginning is awesome and these episodes are the best! This is quality.
Love these videos bro
I don't even play fallout and I'd like this.
Awesome work you guys! Really cool to learn about all the Fallout Lore and such. Glad to see this is a continued project. Best of luck on the series!
I'm from pittsburgh and seeing it like that is cool
These are really really good! Certainly deserves more views
oh my lovely FALLOUT 3
I can't believe it's been 6 years already since i saw these
I called it a few days ago that Point Lookout was gonna be next. I'm so proud that my guess was actually correct.
Love how creative your videos are, keep up the good work!
Thanks!
sea critters = Mutated whales that look like megalodons or Plesiosaurs
spiritB0mber fuck Plesiosaurus, try Mosasaurus or Liopleurodon :D
oh... and add a Deinosuchus
I always wondered what happened to sea like. Looking at what Horseshoe crabs and turtles turn into I shutter at what happened to a shark or whale.
Illier1 i'd imagine main sea far form civilization wouldn't be TOO bad, but,i dunno....
cobraglatiator The ocean would literally soak in radiation, I would imagine they may eventually try a Godzilla reference but for all I know the oceans are dead.
Illier1 the entire ocean?.......really?! huh.......
I swear that these lore videos are getting better every time a new one gets released!
Came here in 2022 just to get a refresh of Pitt lore before the new dlc 😎
LOL at 0:25
Narrator: "Do we throw Joe on the front lines and hope he figures it out himself?
Joe: "MOTHERF..."
Narrator: "Nonsense, that would be a waste of a perfectly good suit of power armor."
man This is real BOS right here bro
Wow, nice job. I like how you had little reenactments of what happened.
Interesting that there is a Fallout 76 update of the same name...
These are amazingly done! Been watching since TES lore was starting, and it has been amazing seeing how much your shows have evolved! :D
If done right Fallout will make a good movie
This comment aged REALLY well
Holy shit!
This series is AWESOME! I usually just watch it whenever I was bored, but it's got a story of it's own now, and that is just amazing!
Keep it up!
Not into the Pitt! IT BURNS!
Wow guys awesome series. I'm watching the whole series from the start and I love the new direction its taking. awesome awesome episode it is my favorite so far, thank you for all the hard work ShoddyCast you guys give fallout fans a good name. I just love everything you guys do. the Elder Scroll series is the best out there as well. Basically just everything you guys do. thank you again
I find it funny how I watched this on virtual reality
Really well produced and put together, I love your videos!
Ashur was a brilliant character who showed us that sometimes you must commit a little evil for the greater good. That's why I almost always sided with him.
Wow, next episode at the end of the month too. Can't wait!
I liked the pitt just because i like the moral dilemma and how i took all your items and you had to ride to the top again which i did relatively fast because i just stayed in that junkyard area and collected a FUCK TON of iron bars
DerpyThe Pur8 same
DerpyThe Pur8 I got all 100
Can't believe I only now have found this channel. I really appreciate the work and effort you put into these videos, keep it up!
Great work! :)
Really loved the cinematics in this episode, much better than anything in season 1. Keep up the good work!
But each chapter is so different in ideals that they're like separate groups.
rockshawen
You do realize.. the Elder Lyon's Chapter and East Coast Brotherhood are the same right?
Lone Wanderer With that in mind then my opinion is that the DC chapter of the BoS has the largest chance due to them being protected by the Lone Wanderer and also that they seem to have the best ideals. Furthermore they also have the largest amount of men (not counting mid-west BoS, they recruit nasty mutant scum).
Miguel Castillo
Nasty Mutant Scum? That's racist. Mutants are people too... sorta...
Im srry but i have to say that NCR is going to rule, i dont like the idea but deep inside my guts tell me that they will get far more power, their army concept is strength in numbers and we have seen what happened to the BoS mojave chapter if they tryed to fight them even with superior equipment.
I am truly amazed at the quality work you guys do. Way to keep it classy lads, keep it up.
Do a lore episode of New Reno.
Reppin' Pittsburgh
I actually like the animation they do with this, makes it kinda seem like a news report or a wasteland history channel special
Fallout 76 callout
Thats why I'm here, gotta brush up on my knowledge!
@@crushermjm same, I never played fallout 3 so know nothing about it
same
@@gerald1495 .......You really missed out, it was the best one.
@@FaytVanguard Yup replayed it recently and still as good as ever. Im excited to see what the Pitt was like without Ashur!
You guys are awesome ,fallout is the best lore series
Power armor that goes down with one bullet. fuck
TreeckotheRebel I was once a invincible soldier in power armour... Then I took a bullet to the face.
I've only seen this episode and the last, but it really makes me want to watch all the videos before.
This is great work. :D
Too bad I killed Asher and took his armor. That vision didn't last very long.
Not cool man.
+Asher Haycock I killed hancock in fallout 4
+Lik Son Chang *Hancock
+Lik Son Chang I eliminated Vault 81 in Fallout 4... do I regret it? Yes, yes I do.. but hey I got a vault 81 jumpsuit!
+Field Marshal Erwin Rommel you can get that in a storeroom in the vault. You don't even need to kill anyone.
This is probably the best lore Fallout Lore video yet!
would be interesting if fallout 4 took place in asia or europe
***** Though Fallout's thing has always been that retro future americana theme so how are they gonna do it someplace else?
***** It'd be a risky move.
No one knows what happened anywhere but america, except they were obviously hit. They Would Literally have free range to make their own story without anyone yelling about cannon
ikr
The problem with having it in other countries is it may as well be a new game. There would be no vaults no power armor no known faction from past games. Almost no weapons because most countries have very strict gun laws and since the us doesn't it's makes sense there are so many guns.
i love the way you set this up its so much fun yo watch it is so amazing
Why are the videos shorter? :(
because insteed of coming out every other week they come out every week now
Alan Phelps No they're not, check the dates, they're still biweekly.
The interesting thing is in Far Harbor of FO4, there was a working (but crashed) freighter (along with other working boats).
Anyone here after E3 2021?!??
felt a little short this time, but the series is going on great guys, keep up the good work!!!
I live 45 min north of "the Pitt" 😃
We will cleanse you abominations.
amazing! it has been a while since i completed this DLC and nearly forgot all about it. Thank you for this great video!
