Also, please note I don't own VR Controllers myself, so I'm unable to help with any debugging to get the Sixense MotionPack to work with them incase it doesn't work, the install instructions I got came from someone I know who has installed the MotionPack with VR.

So I have one question regarding this: I was wondering if, with the patch, is it still possible to play with users using the official Razer Hydra Motionpack? I assume not, but I just wanted to check.
The actual MotionPack doesn’t even work anymore, which is why this Patch was made.
I was able to play with my Index controllers, thanks to this video!

So if I understand correctly, this mod is specifically for the MOTION Pack and not the Perceptual Pack, *but* it includes the bonus level and the tutorial level from the Perceptual Pack as extras, right?
I still have the Perceptual Pack from when I got it officially. Is there any mod or method etc. that exists to possibly use VR controllers in it? I know in your previous video, you were able to carry over files from the Motion Pack into the Perceptual Pack to allow you to play with the Razer Hydra instead of that camera thing, so I'm curious if something similar might work here.
if you want to use the vr controllers instead of razer hydra you could probably download the zip file and use the patch as shown in the video (1:27)
Edit: you'd need to do it to your sixense installation, not the one in the zip file.

im stuck when it asks me to point my controller to the base unit and press trigger. nothing happens. im using rift s controllers if that means anything
Damn... it loaded up fine the first time... but wasn't registering my Ocullus Rift controllers.
Now it keeps CTDing on subsequent launches after the Valve intros.

Was hoping to finally play this but after the loading screen that leads to main menu the game closes without any kind of error.
I'm not sure if it's because of the recent steamvr theater update, but I'm having trouble getting this to work. The motion controls aren't working at all when my vr controllers are pointed at the screen (I'm assuming because it's trying to read them as mouse input?), if anyone knows of a fix for this I'd greatly appreciate it!
I'm still curious if joy-cons are capable of doing the sixsense stuff.
I can't figure out how to run it in vr. I tried opening it in steamvr and the game opens but nothing happens in the headset
Hey i have an idea to use joycons using Drive4vr but iam unable to use it correcly steamvr opens and i can move my hands but when i open game its not opening with vr, have anyone give me a solution for this?
Hello! I have a question.Can I play this with PS Move + Navigation Controller? It's just that there seem to be fewer buttons on the Move + Navi than on the Razer Hydra. Or is it worth trying to buy a Razer Hydra for the sake of it? (converting to the dollar exchange rate of about $ 60 + shipping and unknown condition) (and considering that I'll probably just complete it all once and most likely won't use the Razer Hydra anymore this purchase will not be very profitable because in any case it will have to be sold cheaper)
So can this be played in VR proper - camera tracking your head, camera set at your eyes? Or is the best I’m getting a virtual monitor and hand tracking?
The vr patch just uses your controllers to emulate the sixense ones

Ive seen videos where precisely the Sixense Hydra drivers are used for this
If you own driver4vr you can use that as a sort of hacky way to achive that
Tho I don't know how well the vr patch handles vive wands
I would honestly kill /nsrs for someone to mod in keyboard bindings for the Sixense One-To-One controls so we can play this without a headset. Hell, if it's possible, I wanna learn how to do that on my own!

In Motion does not have any unique levels to it, unless you mean playing the Perceptual Pack + MotionPack levels in one campaign, which is possible, but not faithful, which ruins the purpose of the patch. I could easily make a transition script that links it all together though...

The Sixense had nothing to do with VR, it was standalone motion controllers for flat screen games. But those are not being made anymore and most people who have motion controllers probably have them from VR headsets, hence this mod for using your VR controllers over Sixense

Nintendo switch controllers can be connected to windows via Bluetooth, so could that work?
Make steam see them as VR controllers and it may work

Since VorpX works with Portal 2, can you use VorpX here along with the VR controls provided through Sixense? This was asked on the original video for the VR controls but never answered. If anyone has VorpX and is willing to test this, we'd all be grateful.
I can try. Ive never used VorpX but I will try. Just for anyone else wondering, I will try this with Valve Index.
Edit: Ok I tried it. Doesnt work. VorpX changes the control scheme to VPX scheme which has some bullshit buttons and Portal2 Sixsense doesnt detect those buttons. If anyone knows how to prevent VorpX from changing the control scheme, please tell me
I have never even heard of VorpX prior to this comment, but that is a *really* interesting piece of software I will need to look more into.
Does anyone know if it would be possible to somehow use the Quest 2 controllers to play? If so, how?
EDIT: An hour later, I figured it out using an incredibly scuffed setup:
For context, my pc is so incredibly weak that I can't actually play ANYTHING to do with pcvr, but this still worked for me somehow.
I used ALVR because if I were to use the oculus software on my pc to be able to plug in my headset and use it that way with SteamVR, at least 80% of all my computer's power would be sapped by just the oculus software. It sucks, both the software and my PC.
So I set up ALVR, turned absolutely everything I could down to as low as it would go, set it to use the oculus' tracking, and after launching the game from within the headset I put my headset on my desk and put a bottle in front of the IR sensors so that it stays tracking (I don't think there is a way to have the screen turned off but retaining the tracking, sadly. Hooray Burn-In!

the problem im having is that there is no pick up button
@@HankRichard from my experience the pick up action was "right thumbstick in any direction and press down while it is held in that direction"
what about controller remapping for the VR controllers because I want to change the use button to a different button
Button remapping isn't supported with the fix because whoever made the fix abandoned it sometime after 2017. The only way this could be implemented is if someone with C++ knowledge forked the existing codebase and continued to develop it to add support for remapping.

joycons don't have 6dof and I think neither do wiimotes
I wish there was a way for it to work with Joy-Con.

@@uncommon_shadow2742 I can assure you this is 90% about these exclusive mechanics rather than gyro controls. You can resize portals and move objects further or closer away from you, a lot of things not in other Portal puzzles

You're not buying the sixense motion controller, you're using the Playstation Move controller.

You need to have Portal 2 installed and in the same `steamapps` directory as the mod.
