My respect and admiration goes to the Old House team because they support children in their carpentry projects, qualities that are lost in today's world. Programs like these are the ones that make your soul happy, thank you.
Excellent teaching, need to do more of these. Kids are great. She proves a disability is not a disability, it just means doing things differently.
Thanks for inviting us into your shop Camilla. You're awesome 🤟
By far, the best episode of this Old House.
It's great to see a young person using their woodworking skills to make beautiful and functional things. Much better than playing video games or worrying over social media stuff. Great job Camilla, you are definitely an inspiration!! 👍👌👏👏👏👏👏
She made a really nice cutting board, proud of her. Thanks Tom for highlighting this young girl, and her passion for woodworking. This young girl makes me proud of the younger generation.
No better teacher than Tommy. Great job Camilla and Jasper!
Too cute. Hope she is on this old House in a few years.
Good for you Tommy, to help that child. She looks like she really loves working with wood.
These kids are polite and well spoken.
Camellia, your an inspiration to young adults. Keep learning!
Nice to see another budding woodworker, and learning from a master!
Thanks Camellia and Tom really enjoyed it ❤
Thank you Tommy for helping our future generation. She will go far in the future.
Teamwork! Great job Camilla and Tommy!
Camilla is so inspiring...what a great kid! My 8 year old daughter loves her.
My son and I watched this episode from start to finish.
I am the oldest of 7 grandchildren, all girls. Tommy reminds me of my grandfather. He was always willing to show how to use all his tools as well as letting us use them on projects. In fact, I'm told that he had me using a band saw when I was a toddler. Because of Grampy, I've been able to do small home repair projects.
I love that he doesn't talk down to them like their just dumb kids. He explains and helps when needed
That was so much fun! Thank you all for sharing! ❤
Stay strong and resilient Cammy 🖖
You go girl!
Thank you, This Old House, this was absolutely joyful.
These kids are adorable!
Episodes like this is truly among the best of what's on RUclips.
Will Camilla have her own channel soon? I sure hope so.
Wouldn't that be cool. She could have guest woodworkers and such, learn new skills and build progressively more complicated things as her own skill sets develop. Wouldn't you think Tommy and Norm would come out of retirement to help kickstart her channel? TOH you paying attention?
Tommy is a great teacher...very patient ... And of course he knows his stuff. Great job.
absolutely darling on all levels.
What amazing youngsters! Beautiful speech and language development combined with advanced social skills. Their parents must be so proud of them. Kudos to their parents for raising such impressive young people.🙂
I'm not crying, you're crying!
Great job Camilla! Tommy is the best!
Awesome episode, woodworking is for everyone. Great job to Camilla and the This Old House team ❤
Tom that was totally Awesome of you
Very cool. The patience, attention to detail and just slowing down to do the job right the first time are skills that will take her a long way down the road.
This is an awesome video , I love her passion for work working. Keep up the great work
Children are the Best!! ❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻Love This Old House!
Well done. Just made my day...plus a whole bunch more. Ty.
Workbenches are where the magic begins.
Maybe the best show ever💞
Thank you Mr. Silva!!👍👍
even simple stuff like the "imaginary line" on the driver and the screw...seems simple but at her age I would've stripping the head of every fastener lol. Tom would be the best teacher for this stuff, but I forget that at his age he's probably trained more people (apprentices or otherwise) than I've met.
What a fantastic episode. Loved watching it!
this is one of the best video i seen for a long time on youtube!! great jobs all of you
Thank you so much for this episode. ❤️
Fantastic, get the kids working. It was great that they chose someone with a true interest in woodworking. A well deserving kid!
This was fun to watch. Having a good work bench is so essential to making your ideas come to life! Camilla did a great job on this one. Learning basic construction and ending up with the most useful tool in her shop...the bench! Nice work, Camilla!
Now be careful of the dreaded clutter that sneaks onto the bench when you're not looking 😅...utilize your tool wall!
Can't wait to see what you build next!
Camilla is loving my dream! Doing a project with Tommy.
She will be spoiled using Festools. I had the chance to use them on a cabinet project and I still dream about the experience and the tracksaw!
I hope this experience and the new work table further inspires creativity and passion of woodworking and construction for this amazing young lady. Wonderful skills to have.
So cool.
I give this episode 1,000 "thumbs up"!
Great job all around!
Outstanding
God bless her!!!
That was amazing Tommy
Just awesome ❤
Great episode!
❤ Love this episode.
you my friend are my heros
Dig it. 🏰👍
it's not a board , its a boaaadd 😄
❤
How does Camilla have 20 seasons already??
does she have her own youtube channel?
a Japanese pull saw would make hand sawing much easier, you can see the struggle with a push saw.
You need a workbench to build a workbench! Where did the first workbench even come from? 🤔
How can other craftsman and educators help interested students? I am personally recovering from a 6th knee surgery, 20 years teaching Tech Ed and 22 years residential construction. Few and far between
I wish towns, schools and local construction folks would get together and open up community wood working shops where people could learn from mentors, have access to the tools and equipment they otherwise can't afford and develop wood working skills as they build things for their own use and maybe even to sell.

Nice to see skills passed down to the youngest generation.
“Let me give you a hand.” -Tommy 😂
Oh aren't you so funny and clever too. You are today's winner of 👎👎👎 Maybe you should save yourself further embarrassment and delete your inappropriate comment?
We have ourselves another bully privk
That birdhouse looks kinda crappy
i doubt if he made her carry that downstairs.
@@Navy1977 yes it was, tommy said lets get this down the stairs and into the truck, then said grab that side, and she did.
@@Navy1977 it appears that way but it was a cut scene, i doubt if she did, but if so that would be awesome. Wish she had her own tube channel so we could all send her some love, likes, n support 😀
15:44 I would have died if the brother came in and was also missing his arm
In retrospect, do you think your comment is appropriate for Camilla to read?
@@Navy1977 She's a tough cookie, she can take it.
@@brianfong5711 It's highly inappropriate bullying of a child by an adult. If you don't inherently recognize that, then I don't know what else to say.
@@Navy1977 Just to clarify, I would have died inside, NOT died of laughter
Missed opportunity to start the video with her using a table saw with a fake hand and staging an accident lol
You really think that's an appropriate comment for her to read?
@@Navy1977 Yes, if you don't, you're too much of a snowflake to be on the internet. Go back to playing Bingo
@poptya You are a sick minded freak!!!
This video feels a little exploitative. I'm the father of 2 daughters and I'm a little confused here. Is this Camilla's workshop or Camilla's and her brother's? It seems like all the work on the birdhouse is being done by her brother. Is this because she's a girl or is there another reason? It seems a little like you're using this young lady for views. I like TOH but this is taking things a little too far. For what it's worth, you would have been better off showcasing only Camilla. She clearly enjoys doing projects.
Bravo Camilla!
Wonderful...Great job Guys & Girl
Got me wiping tears from my eyes, over here 🥹 Camilla is one determined young person and little brother Jasper is just as eager to pitch in. What made this so special was Tommy showing so much patience and more of his grandad side showing. What a really cool episode!
How did she loose part of her arm?
@user-tn2os8ts7h Hey troll, that’s irrelevant and none of your business. Goof.
That young lady is a very smart. She is a very beautiful young lady.
Awesome job best episode of toh ever, yes or yes 👍 For disabled farmers the USDA AgrAbility toolbox has cool adaptive tool ideas ⚒️ 🗜️
