At least one improvement I can see with the laser wisp is that Sonic keeps his momentum going after using it in this game. It seems to make the level flow better.
That's only used in the special stages, cutscenes and during the rank animations tho. The one that is seen during normal gameplay is literally the same as the one in Lost World, just with slightly longer quills and much lower res textures
Modern Tails: Hey, Sonic. I thought this amusement park was already destroyed when we first arrived. Modern Sonic: Yep. It still reminds me of when we first met Yacker here.
This is my favorite level to speedrun mainly do to the break jump glitch, the laser being used at the rails at the end, and the ability to go through the rails.
Every time I play this level, I have to listen to the song *We* *Have* *Explosive* by *The* *Future* *Sound* *Of* *London*. Have you ever heard of them?
Well, DIMPS is certainly doing a great job with Lost World, why?. REALLY COOL GRAPHICS FULLY 3D LEVELS AMAZING DESIGN (As good as the WII U version IMO)
Because of it's inclusion of Generations. It was the best looking stage, but not one of the more memorable stages. I remember nearly every other stage way better than Planet Wisp.
How it went with the console version was that for the Genesis era Classic got more or less the original track and Modern got an orchestrated version, and in the rest Modern got redone versions of the original while Classic got an electronic remix. It kind of varies how it handles in the 3DS version. Emerald Coast's tracks are the level's two different themes, Tropical Resort's are more based on the Wisp themes, and neither Radical Highway sounds like the original at all.
It's a device you hook into your system (360, Wii, DS, PSP, Etc.) that captures footage directly from the system in order to get High quality video. In other words, he's not using an emulator (I don't even think a 3DS one exists...yet) he's playing the genuine game on a genuine 3DS.
It's almost like they took those two 3D sections in Colors and shifted the view. Colors' 2D is known for puzzle platforming and some Wisp-based exploration, not too much about speed, which is all this stage seems to be about.
Not quite as devoid of obstacles as you'd think. Try getting through Act 1 without dying at least once. Far more difficult than the Wii and DS versions, and that's a good thing.
I agree. Meteors?Nice, but painful cause remember the laser beams from Final Fortress(how i had so raging time at those things in Sonic Heroes,oh crap).
He said MORE remixed. In the console version, Classic's music is more divergent from the original tracks than Modern's, and vice versa in the 3DS version.
Juan ah, late reply but they used the voice samples from the DS version of colors so it sounds a tad odd. Still pondering why the DS version had a different announcer...
God I absolutely HATED that damn meteor section as a little kid, just when I was close to the end when avoid one meteor the game delays my button press a split second and I die from the next meteor.
Agreed, this game was cool but, compared to Lost World... Again, I think the design it's just as good as the Wii U design, or at least it looks like they had time to do it =I (DIMPS only had 8-10 months to make this game).
"Would the owner of a white hover-car shaped like an egg please report to the front desk. Your car has been broken int- waitaminute, *WHAT THE %$#@!* "
Naw man, space rollercoasters are a much better use of resources. Seriously. space, rollercoasters. There could be a twinkle park reference in those stages too.
Not the way I look at it. Planet Wisp's problem in Generations was that it was slow and lasted too long. Part of the problem was that they use 2 of the 3 slowest wisps. It also wasn't one of the more iconic stages. If we go by best wisp choice, 2nd most iconic, and 3rd best track in the game, Sweet Mountain SHOULD have been the choice. Instead, we got Scrap Brain: The Sequel.
Sonic Rush was amazing, SR Adventure was amazing too, not to mention the top-quality Advance series. I don't know what the flying fuck you're talking about mister.
Tropical Resort as a last level makes no sense, especially when the level layout is so friendly and devoid of obstacles. Asteroid Coaster or Starlight Carnival would've been a more appropriate choice. Well anyway, this is a dimps game that's for sure...
@Ozzy The Crocodile I strongly disagree, THIS one fits Modern Sonic better. Tropical Resort (Act 1) should've been a mix of the Wii version's Tropical Resort (Act 1) and the Gameland version of it.
I hate Aquarium Park so much.I had nightmares at this level except for the boss. Sweet Mountain was easy and fun to me,but my favorite is Asteroid Coaster, even if there are some hard parts as hell.
Tails: Weren't we just here? How is this going to be any different?
Sonic: Hold my chili-dog, and watch this!
Yes!
Lmao not even a year later.
At least one improvement I can see with the laser wisp is that Sonic keeps his momentum going after using it in this game. It seems to make the level flow better.
Anyone noticed that the level design is the same of both counterparts of Sonic Colors
Act 1: DS Sonic Colors
Act 2: Wii Sonic Colors
Never noticed that
That's actually incredibly clever.
Classic is Act 1 from DS, Modern is Acts 1, 2, and 3, all combined into one
Admit it, you all died the first time when you reached the rail grind section with the instant kill meteors.
Wait a minute those were insta kill?
Tristan Wong 王皜軒 Always has been instant kill meteors.

Am I the only one who likes the 3ds version?
No
Dissected Grape Studios no
Yes. You're one and only, mr. Anderson.
Владислав lol
Dissected Grape Studios I like it. I think of it as sonic rush 4 (if sonic colors in the ds can be called sonic rush 3 why not this?)
Sonic's model in generations (3ds) looks better than his model on Lost World (3ds). Weird.....
His olympics model blows them both out the park
_Diondre that is true
That's only used in the special stages, cutscenes and during the rank animations tho.
The one that is seen during normal gameplay is literally the same as the one in Lost World, just with slightly longer quills and much lower res textures
Why are people obsessing over small details of the Sonic models? Who cares? It's still Sonic either way!
@@LegionOfWorldWarriors Tell that to Sonic's '06 model (it's not bad, I think it just looks off).
This is a pretty impressive game on a 3DS.
not even close
Sonic Lost World is more impressive as it has 3d sections.
Dudes, this was a 2011 game, it WAS impressive.
Mindbreakerz i like the desgin of Lost world But THIS GAME IS JUST TRASH!
@@dennise5150 shut up it is!!!!!
I only replay this stage for the music. Such a damned good remix

The 3D grinding section is everything!
I don't know what you mean, both versions of Tropical Resort have amazing level design.
Cool! Finally a 3DS playthrough with good capture devices. Will you upload the rest of the game in near future?
Yes
Like this level's music remix. :)
And another level that looks like it is good to play though as well.
LASER

Melpontro ?
Samuc 06 Old youtube doesn't have a reply system. So he just make another comment
If there's one thing this version had over the console releases, it's the much better representation of Colours.
Because of it's inclusion of Generations. It was the best looking stage, but not one of the more memorable stages. I remember nearly every other stage way better than Planet Wisp.
The one problem I have with sonic new gams is the boosting. Not because its to fast, but it ruins the music withs it's distortion effect.
There are item monitors in Modern Sonic gameplay? SIGN ME IN!
This is probably one of the only levels on the SG 3DS version that looks interesting to play.
I love how this man plays like I do
If I miss something, I am determined to go back and fix it
this was the first game i played on my 3ds
David Lucas i play sonic rush and i have completed the whole entire game all chaos and sol emeralds all zones and extra zone completed

HOW DID YOU DO!?

Starlight Carnival was mostly just running on a neon platform floating through space...
Btw which Colors stage would you like to play if a new Generations game was released

1:01 that bit always catches people
It's in Sonic All Stars Racing: Transformed as a race track!
Aren’t you talking about Starlight Carnival?
God that boost sound effect is... mmmmm...
At least they tried?
Melpontro Oh no, I mean to say it’s downright pleasurable to listen to. That sound gets me feeling like no other
someone really should port these 3ds stages to the pc :D
1:08 DS Cyan Laser Wisp announcer.
Way more energy than lost world
That pop-in at the end doe......
Notice: the stars are the same texture copy/pasted over and over.
I agree.
Meteors?Nice, but painful cause remember the laser beams from Final Fortress(how i had so raging time at those things in Sonic Heroes,oh crap).
It pretty much the same as the Ds ver and now in HD!
the Act 1 is more accurate to the DS ver
Who ever wrote the music must've been a big fan of Trigun, at least for the opening.
He said MORE remixed. In the console version, Classic's music is more divergent from the original tracks than Modern's, and vice versa in the 3DS version.
I agree, Starlight Carnival looked good, but it was just to automated to be enjoyable for me, Sweet Mountain is my favourite.
Aquarium Park makes water levels seem enjoyable.
Best act in the game. My oppinion. DEAL WITH IT!
2:25 Dat draw distance.
this is WAY better than Sonic Colors' version
Generations version of tropical is more hype than the original.
TERMINAL VELOCITY! NUFF SAY.
Modern Planet Wisp showed us that too much automation sucks, but too little automation sucks too, the thing doesn't even have a single damn loop...
Sonic has the bests songs
I'll be pleased once dimps gets their grimy hands off sonic handheld games. It's been years now and their level design hasn't improved one bit.
The hell did they do to the old wisp announcer? It used to sound so natural, but now, it sounds extremely forced.
BaconStar its the same audio recording :/
hiimfer doesn't sound like it xP
Compression
Just be glad they didn't use the wisp announcer voice clips from the E3 demo of Colors lol
Asteroid Coaster top tier Sonic Colors stage.
the eggman oreo's, admit, they are really cool

That's sooooo AWSOME!!
Mad that they didn't add Eggman's PA announcements
This was my most favourite level on my 3DS
The console version could’ve used this level from Sonic Colors, but instead they used Planet Wisp
@@michaelmoss9198 Planet wisp was favored for majority in the music part. If they had to choose from colors planet wisp represents Colors as a whole.

space, rollercoasters.

3ds modern sonic plays like HANDHELD modern sonic

Yup. Sonic Rush
toasty bunz dunno why they make it 2d but lost world is 3d
Black The Hedgehog Gaming Again, Sonic Rush. That's the first games introduce the Boost mechanic.

terminal velocity is where the real shit is
It's clearly visible that this game was planned to be on PSP for the graphics.
@DragonSpirit9000 sorry, i wasn't sure if Sonic Generations was planned for Vita instead of PSP.
It was actually getting released for the psp but the dvd containing the entire game got fucked up and it never came out
No 06' or Unleashed level? Talk about an EVEN SHORTER version of Sonic Generations!
Terminal Velocity kicks all ass.
I'm Very tolerant on Sonic Music, and LOVE that opening guitar, but when that synthesizer (I think) kicks the main melody in...... OHNO
oh c'mon, aquarium park is where it's at

2:15 only 3D segment in the whole game! XD
Special Stages say hi
I feel like they should've added the tricks for modern sonic.
And Sweet Mountain wipes the floor of all 3 of them.
noname76761 bulshit... Either asteroid coaster, Starlight carnival, or Terminal velocity..
And this level design is why we don't let dimps make our sonic games XD
You can hella speed this up with some skips. Jumping OVER loops, abusing Laser... You can get sub-2:00 times!
0:40
If you Air-Boosted instead of falling down, you would've skipped the LAZOR part.
Does anyone else think that Dimps could have made this an actual fully 3d game. Instead the rush style?
I thank this game to able to play wisps
The only thing cool about Sweet Mountain is the huge robotic burger.
Sonic Colors = ost Comon
Sonic colors ultimate= ost Comon
Sonic Generations 3ds classic = Ost Comon
Sonic Generations 3ds Modern = Faster Ost
Asteroid Coaster beats even that.
Neither Generations game shows off how good Colours is.
The ds can run a fully 3d sonic colors version with lot of trick
Melpontro can I use your vid for a comparison
2nd hardest 2d sonic level ever
Tropical Resort as a last level makes no sense, especially when the level layout is so friendly and devoid of obstacles.

i once got under a minute fifty on this stage
It's weird I feel like the soundtrack for tropical resort modern fits classic better and vise versa.
@Ozzy The Crocodile
I strongly disagree, THIS one fits Modern Sonic better. Tropical Resort (Act 1) should've been a mix of the Wii version's Tropical Resort (Act 1) and the Gameland version of it.
The boosting seems a bit broken on this game also the modern Sonic parts are all 2d.
Aquarium Park = best level in Colors and should have been in Generations
They already have a water level. Do you hate sonic rush
And Sweet Mountain beats Starlight.....
I hate Aquarium Park so much.I had nightmares at this level except for the boss.

I don't know. I don't like paying alot more for insulin... I'd rather see the Aquarium Park.... They have sushi.
