What was the fan height?
@@ZyferWarriorPrime listed in description but its 7mm... Its a 30x30x7 like the ones i linked to.
@@Madlittlepixel ahh ok you didn't mention it in the video. Probably the one time I didn't look at the description it is there.
RetroFlag, This is awesome. I think the market will really look forward to some Sega, NeoGeo, Playstation, or NEC cases. Other consoles could use some love with the same high quality aesthetic and features we enjoy in your newest cases!
I was an early buyer of the first NESPi case. Have the SUPERPi JP/PAL on order already. NeoGeo/Megadrive would be killer next!
We need a NES top loader too!
In the UK? Order here: amzn.to/2BPnR1F
just got 1 off ebay 23 quid. I aint even into raspberry pi but never had a screwdriver that nice before
OMG! Thank you so much. I've been struggling with typing that install script in for days. Putty was the trick. Done in an instant. Thank you!
Are the GEEKPI controllers they use now the same as this one?
Extend the CardReader with a Cable and have it under the Eject Flap.
That would of been cool lol
Now for fun, take a SNES classic and set it next to the Retroflag case. Damn near identical. The retroflag embedded logo is where the Nintendo logo is embedded. The fonts on rear of case look to match too. The reason it’s so perfect, is they probably used a classic to get their mold 😂
Did you do the Putty thing on your computer or did you do it on the raspberry pi? I feel like you didn't explain that part very well because i know nothing about programming and just want to be able to fully use the power and reset buttons. If you did it via the raspberry pi then how did you do that? If it's through the computer then how will it transfer to the raspberry pi?
Ive covered putty a lot on this channel. But you can see I was on a Windows 10 desktop. I can do a quick tutorial later on how to do it.
When you pressed the reset buttons I got two mid roll ads, I think something's wrong.
Good morning. I just have a humble question: If I was to mount one of these into a arcade cabinet, and I already have an on-off button in the cabinet, would you have a suggestion on how would I wire the on/off switch to the gpio? I appreciate any suggestions you may have!
Good lord!
I just fell in love with this Raspi case! It's just like the SNES Classic Mini but with actual USB ports and ARM boards inside.
Do you think it's possible to mod the cartridge slot the way a NFC could fit in there?
I just ordered one of these as they look so polished, but I agree, please no more nintendo cases haha. A nice sega megadrive or saturn case would be amazing - plus they would rock with the newly announced retro-bit official sega controllers coming soon. :)
You know what would be awsome would be to have a Sega Neptune Case. How cool would that be since it never got released, you could have a little Neptune Console with all the Genesis and 32x games on it.
Yeah yeah yeah. How do you plug in the fan? Complete the build!
make sure power button is set on off or screws won't go in flush or even
Looks amazing! I’m ordering one.
I would Love a Sega case and controller.
How long is the controller cord ? Just wondering if USB extension is needed to reach across a room.
Thank you very much!!!
Straight ahead I bought it now as I really liked your video!!!!
Massive thank you for your advice and work!!!
I'm not a techie, but the setup looked so simple that even I think I could do it. But I do have one question and that's the cost of it all. How much would a standard retropie, an official RetroPie case from RetroFlag and a separate fan would roughly cost altogether?
You are probably looking at around $80 total. Links in my description can give you a better idea on pricing.
is there a video showing how in set up a retro pi and installing one of them themes
ETA Prime has helpful videos for setting up retropie.
Noob question : will the power and reset buttons script work with a recalbox system installed ?
With the fan how does this compare to a flirc for cooling on an over locked 3b+? I love the look of it but I want good cooling for over clocking
does that case fit the CanaKit Raspberry Pi 3 ?
Looks awesome, but must resist. If they came out with a TG-16 or SMS case, I’d buy in a second. Still happy with my $6 (at the time) Super Kintaro case.
Is it possibel to use more than one fan an the connector of the cases pcb?
How much space is there on the USB side cover? I wonder if you could fit a mini flash drive on it and keep it covered.
It's more than a centimeter. If it's small enough it should fit.
Do you know if they'll make an option to get it without the controller? (I already have usb snes controllers)
Looks pretty awesome. Can't beat the deal for the case and controller!
Hey Madlittlepixel
What about an Atari 2600 case Am waiting for the day someone makes that case. Great review Have purchased this case and its great The controller to is unbelievable great to. Do you know if the sell them separate? Again great
Thanks
Gary
Brother, does it come with the Raspberry Pi?
Does the Geekpi tual fan cooler fit with the pin connections?
For what i'm seeing, the button connectors use the same as the cooling system would use.
Can anybody confirm that?
Does anybody have a idea or an solution?
Thanks a lot!
I wonder if there is room for the Kintaro Super Ursus heat sink in there....
Who else would like to see a Sega Neptune Case? You could load the Genesis and 32X libraries on it and have a Little Sega Neptune Classic. That would be so neat.
Does the dual fan heatsink fit in this case?
How do you even get putty to work ? Every time I put my ip address in it times out before I can put password in
Make sure you are entering the IP address of your pi and not your computer.
try just putting in retropie as a hostname instead(well aslong as you only have one on the network)
Will this also work with Recalbox somehow?
Hi MLP. Maybe someone on your channel can figure it out.
I am having issues accessing .attract folder. In both HyperPie images.
Can't seem to ssh in with Winscp
Error lisiting directory'/opt/retropie/config/all/attractmode'
i can see the hidden files and folders but can't open them.
If i use putty I can access it. Any Ideas?
I can download the entire folder if I wan't, but can't change romlists or modify anything
Dude awesome video. Thank you!!!!!
I just got both cases today. My only complaint, if anything, would be screwing the case together. I feel like I have screwed the screws tight (and then some more and then some more) and the case doesn't full close tight. I am afraid of over-screwing them. Anyone else experiencing this?
Make sure you have the power button aligned and not pinching anything while screwing it together. I had the same issue at first but it was because i didnt line it up properly and clear. It still takes a bit to screw together but mine holds tight and no loose gaps.
my screw is pretty much stripped due to how much the plastic fought. by chance, do you know the size of the screw so i can order some more?
Do you have info about the EU release?
We need a PS1 case, a N64 case please and maybe a Dreamcast case for the Pi
Fan size should be those Reroflag Nespi Ultimate Dual Cooling Fan Kit
30mm Fan much better, as you say pretty Standard
There is a Noctua 40mm fan I've been dying to see case manufacturers make room for!
@@Koss42 I modified my NESPi case to fit a 40mm Noctua but I also had to add more ventilation holes on the back because the air flow was very loud through those tiny slits on the top.
atleast with the nespi i can fit one of the dual fan that goes on the pi itself. it doesn't look like one would fit in this.
Super cool! Better than snes mini in my opinion
I would but a Sega Master System Case if they ever made one.
Do you think the Geeekpi are clones or legit?
I would love to see an Atari 2600 style case
Sup guys. Just thought I'd let you all know that RetroFlag has released a new version of their SuperPi cases. This new version now has a Micro SD storage case in the shape of an actual cartridge that plugs into the slot that used to be the Micro SD storage compartment. It looks amazing. Spread the word to anyone who is looking to buy a SuperPi case.
if they made megadrives and playstations id buy all of them
What image and theme is this?
Neo Geo Arcade image I put together, Neo Geo theme from Dwayne Hurst. I havent put this image out there.... yet
There’s no way a Super Nintendo or super famicon could beat the iconic NES console design. I’m talking about in terms of retro gaming you can’t get more iconic retro than the NES. I loved Super Nintendo/Super fc
I bet the Genesis would come in a far second.
@@@kubejunkieThank you for your reply.
You find a dog barking at an empty tree.
My first console was a Telestar Arcade. Followed by the Atari 2600.
I hope this is better than the NesPi+ Case, they draw to much power, and run hotter in that NesPi+ case, if you wanted access to USB: 0, then NO.!
I wasnt the biggest fan of the NESPi or + case. But this one... Ive had it going all day today and no issues. Have had usb storage running through it 2 controllers and a keyboard... No issues. I think this is the one... Unless they made something identical but a different style... Id much rather have a legit Neo Geo case, MegaDrive case or TG16 Case than more Nintendo cases!
Excellent Excellent.! as i rub my boney hands together, Yeah the Usb Hdd was a big thing for me, Ok then 2 x Super Famicom aka SNES in Australia (always knew that way) is about to be order, Cheers Mr Mad......
nice but as soon as you put that top on it will overheat
I live in the desert lol... I recorded this in 90 degree weather... Had this running for close to 10 hours and had a temp log running... Zero issues with heat for me~
We want a sega genesis case!
They nice
I hear this is crap over price
Most of the capcom games don’t run and many games are duplicated
No I'm afraid it is not possible to place any decent sized heat sink on the processor, neither can the fan be placed atop of the processor.. Therefor it is a piece-o-crap. Why sacrifice such necessities of function for a redundant compartment, for your sd cards? Stupid people.
Another snes clone. But why? If it's not a nes why make it look like nes, just go by the nes or snes classic. Why not make the case look 1 of a kind if it's a custom 1 of kind. Be sweet if the case was shaped like a mini arcade machine or something similar.
I feel ya on that... But for those into Retropie having options is sweet. The Pi using retropie goes well beyond the capabilities of a nes/snes classic which is why some go that route instead. Id rather these cases look like something different that isnt already out there... Like a neo geo mini case or similar~
how long is the cable on that controller ???
