I'm impressed how clean you got it with a dremmel. You sir, need a mill.
Professional quality video! With videos like this you'll go far!
he used the ding noise
thank you for not adding any lame cheesy youtube music to this
Unfortunately this video isn't without any lame and Cheesy RUclips comments...
@@StarLink85like ur comment yea ur right
Siii Bro eso siempre me incomoda
What you hear in most videos like this: I like to eat eat eat apples and bananas! I like to eat er eat apples and bananas!
its called asmr
2:22 Lol Thought He Was Gonna Drop It In

@Daniel Whitcombe hiya 👋
@@RestoreTechnique hi
Same
@@undefined06855 Hi 🙂
Can i buy it
I saw "Li-Po" battery and immediately thought you some how had a lithium-polonium battery lol
it doesn't store energy it creates energy lol
Awesome work. Inspiring!
Also, I grimaced when you lifted those pads. I've done that more than once. Such an awful feeling when you're worried that you just screwed up your entire project with that one little mistake!
Thankyou! Yep, I thought i was back to ordering another board. I'm much more careful if I NEED to drag my iron across pads now.
Can it rewind ⏪ roms?
Nice build seeing that controller open took me back.i use to scrap junk controllers to fix others.had no clue what I was doing I was just a kid .smh
Did any of them work?
@@Soulfire702 I was about to say that
This made me fall in love with custom consoles
Can't wait for part two Josh!
@Ezra Agbeko Q
I always wanted to learn more about eletronic circuits, and I think videos like that can help me and other people to go so much far
Cool, I hope so 😀
It is just incredible how far and fast the technology improved!
holy hell, the patience and knowledge needed for this.
So relaxing... now off to pt. 2!
Watching you dremel and de-solder is like ASMR to me. Clean work
2:24 If he accidentally dropped it in
“Heck No! The craft is ruined!”
The better your videos get, the more your subscribers want. Excited for Part 2, I know it's on it's way.
So you basically made a GBA with 2 extra face buttons. Nice!
Very cool! Looking forward to part 2!
FBI: sees title
Also FBI: reports it to Nintendo
Nintendo: NINTENDO OPEN UP
No one will listen thinking they were gonna get a free game
Wow, great work so far! I hate desoldering! You have a very steady hand to solder to some of those skinny pads that are so close together, too.
Hopefully your video doesn’t get taken down by Nintendo
@Carlos Chulo yep sometimes
Really tidy build so far! Also what a cliffhanger😀👌
Been binge watching your videos since I came across your channel last week. Awesome content and I watch until the end. Hope to see you with more Subs soon, keep it up 👍
😃💙 That's awesome, thanks so much!
I actually learnt quite alot from this. This was really helpful for my future.
My God, that was amazing! Congratulations!
Oh man i've been trying to do this for ages! Just can't find a decent screen for the pi. That kit is not available to me. But this is perfect!
I've never seen the inside of a SNES controller's housing before - I'm shocked they had specific markings for each colour of the buttons. Like, even the Yank ones are accounted for!
Yeah I was surprised too, it's so cool
Super cool project! Great video
i love your soldering technique. using heat syncs and plastic to protect the board. most people solder haphazardly and make a mess.
yea i do on my own stuff
got a problem?
this feels like those videos of the weird japanese fella who makes knifes but for electronics and i'm all here for it
😀👍
This is art, fantastic
This is like a asmr video plus him making a portable snes
Hey man what a great idea! I really want to do it also myself! I am gonna try it!
Thanks! Good luck 👍
Great build!
awesome project but i have a questio. if you had a hot air station, why on eart would you use a soldering iron to remove the components?
I was concerned about heat damaging the tiny board with all the components close together. I've heard of people damaging their pi zero from just soldering the GPIO pins for too long.
I've since seen other people use hot air for desoldering on the pi zero, without any heat masking. So I think I was too cautious, and will use hot air next time.
did anyone else catch themselves holding their breath at 10:00 before remembering they were watching a video, or was that just me
😆
There is something so uncanny yet satisfying about there not being background music!
It's like electrical surgeory
That music.... sounds like a mixed version of the main theme from "Escape from LA" very dope and nostalgic 👌🏻.. also great videos, the RUclips gods directed me to your channel and subscribed after watching the nasty white ps4 fix.
Subscribed. Beautiful work. Thanks.
Im planing to do SNES Portable but you make one continue making this good work.
make an nes portable
I dont know how to make i only know to do with wood
And I thought my cell phone/ps4 controller was a compact setup for SNES. This is awesome!!
2:29 me brushing my teeth in a nutshell:
R.I.P SNES Controller 11/21/1990-12/12/2020, you will be missed...
ngl, I really like this concept, this is pretty cool!
So relaxing..thankyou
😃👍
Saw this on Unilad Tech over on Facebook. Great video.
Thanks 😀
Genius!
Nice amount of gunk under that D-pad aha yikes.
Very satisfying video sir. What an awesome build idea ❤❤

Snes PAD: IT's about fucking time you cleaned me
Human: sorry bro don't worry I'll do more than clean you hehe
Me: you took the controller appart nooooooooooooooooooo blasphemy!
I love the button color assembly cheatsheet on the inside, didn’t expect that 😂
Yeah, and it's for both the Asia and American variants. Lavender/Purple for America, and RGBY for Asia.
I just found your channel and love it. Please be careful. I don't want the Nintendo ninjas to come after you.
psst dont talk about the nintendo ninjas or they will come for you

Really cool!
I will try and build this, hope it works
Amazing!
I was so captivated that I forgot that I didn't know why this was in my feed in the first place .
now he needs to make a portable mega drive
Up
But it's already maked sega genesis portable by atagames and pxp3
Have you heard of a sega nomad.?
I know nothing about modding systems so I keep thinking that you're breaking things
You dumb , hes not breaking things ,he cuts out what he doesent need,
@@devranali2219 I literally said that I know nothing about modding systems. How does that make me dumb?
This is pretty satisfying

Incredible 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hello sur,i live the quality of this video and your skill it’s amazing and I have a question,do you sell this ?
Thankyou! No sorry not for sale
Brilliant! 🙏 Imo you should have much more subscribers.
Thankyou! 😄
If you aren’t already, someday you’ll be the coolest dad in the world.
Haha thanks man 😀
@@RestoreTechnique 😃 seriously though, one of the coolest mods I’ve ever seen.
This is super cool I’m subbing
AWESOME!
Thanks 😄
How can people not give million likes to this
It would have been funny to see a giant ass cartrage on the controller
Thanks for keeping the vid quiet where no music is necessary and also thanks for the good choice of music where you thought it was necessary.
Yes
everyone gangsta until the raspberry pi comes.
Amazing
That's one way to spend time in lockdown though lol
Neat video and project! Would be nice if it said pt 1 in the title, feels a bit misleading to omit.
Ahh ok, thanks for the feedback. I've got "Pt1" in the thumbnail, but I agree it is a bit misleading, I'll change it.
Now he needs make a portable Mega Drive :))
Nice bro, I've always had the dream to get a raspberry pi and make a handheld Xbox or something
Cheers dude
Cool!
Thanks cool boy
First i saw a nes cartridge be turned into a console, and now a snes controller? Technology gets more smaller over the days.
I press the like button because you’re doing great
😃
Awesome
The dremmel precision 🙏🙏🙏
😄
He held up the circuit board thingy and I thought OH hes gonna throw it in the water
😜
Relly nice and very Professional
Thankyou! 😃
@@RestoreTechniqueIt's really gerat I try to make it
nice work!
Thanks!
Yayyy!
One question, do you think this is a good first mod for beginners to start modding consoles/controllers?
In terms of the components and electronics knowledge required, it's pretty suitable. Mostly just soldering skills and some research. But as far as component positioning, internal case design and modification, it's fairly advanced and tricky.
what were some of those tools you used to remove the controller plastic(e.g. the spinning disk)?
I'm getting ASMR vibes from this video...
If you put the screen in the exact same position the start and select buttons were in, then how would you be able to press them if they were in the place of the screen?
Hi Restore Technique,
I'm thinking of making this portable, I'm just wondering where you got your controller from as that is my favorite design of the SNES controller, but its the Super Nintendo logo with the Super Famicom font and buttons. Where did you get it from as i would like to buy one?
GumTree. It's an Australian buy/sell website, like eBay.
@@RestoreTechnique Oh, thank you!! I have found it too!!
This is so good can I get one of those
This is borderline ASMR
Just borderline? 😞
I wonder if theses can be on sale or something
You scared me at 2:26 lol
Haha, yes! 🤭
@@RestoreTechnique Are you an Electrical or Computer Engineer? Or is this just a hobby?

Ah yes the modded snes controller you where talking about technique keep up the work
Why does this sound like asmr for some reason
I can watch the second part after this, because I'm late.
you’re a legend.
Thanks heaps bud!
Damn, the wait for the next part is going to feel worst than not being able to get an RTX 3080 card.
😂 It will be out by Christmas 👍
