Hi Glen. I have been looking for a Walker Bay sailing dinghy for a while, but all I can find around me is the Walker Bay row boat without the sail kit. Can you please share more information how you built the mast, sail, dagger board, etc.

3rd iteration of dagger board & rudder. I found diagram of walker bay sail kit. It comes with L W and height. Dagger board is approximately 30 inches- ish. 1/2 inch mahogany board thined down w/ a planer to fit into slot & lots of hand sanding to get it close to a hydro foil shape as best as possible. Mast is left over windsurfer carbon fiber mast I bought a long time ago on Craigslist. Lots of patience. You can also go to a machine shop to get larger diameter aluminum tubing w/ thicker walls. The hardware stores don't carry unique hardware required for marine use. use 2mil or 4mil clear plastic painters drop cloth for the sail. 9' x 12' can make 2 sails with duct tape. The mast height is around 12'. I experimented with near 14' mast height through adding a 24" extension of PVC pipe and it works great in getting more power during low wind of 5kts or even less. You can creep along super slowly in that @ 2-3kts of wind.
