There is one of qualified care takers. Just look up "childcare" and it is actually one of the first results. The government does inspections for daycares and lists what they find wrong and score them. But there is zero inspections required for in home daycares.
I refused to take my son to a in home daycare for that reason. Especially since the ones that volunteered to be inspected that were in the government ranking website had horrible scores. One had 12 kids watched by a single adult!

The 911 operator didn’t even ask how old the baby was, which was a 2m old infant. CPR for infants changed 30 years ago in the 90’s. It’s not like an adult, young adult or older child. Infants ribs & lungs are SO FRAGILE! Chest compressions are very QUICK & but shallow AND breaths are over both mouth & nose. The operator told her to “hold her nose” nor told her to do small shallow life saving breaths. Full on breaths from our lungs to theirs can blow out their lungs. Their tiny fragile lungs can’t take a full adult breath. And you can do this CPR on infants while laying them across one of ur arms. Please research, ask a pediatrician or paramedic. Be informed for your babies sake. * I worked for paramedics for a decade.

THIS IS WHY CPS CASES SHOULD BE PUBLIC RECORD! The mother would have never let that woman babysit her child if she knew the babysitter had 4 of her kids taken away. You don’t have to release the kids name but I should be able to google the woman’s name and see that she’s had 4 children removed from her custody.

IDK I always make sure any children in my care are breathing when they are sleeping. Parents do too at pickup.

If the mother knew that the babysitters children were taken away I totally agree, but did she know? Maybe she was only told that she babysits often. Maybe the mother was so distracted by the fact she seemed to be rushed out the door and not allowed in and her child was already in the booster seat this time to think to check her child was breathing or just thought her child was asleep and did not want to waken the child. I do not want to blame the mother in this case because I imagine it is tragic enough for her to have lost her baby and she likely is putting enough blame on herself thinking.. what if....

I pulled my daughter from school due to her having issues with another student. It was a long process of meeting with teachers and liaison officers and yada yada. Finally I had enough, didn't trust the school caring for my kid so I pulled her. Started collecting her homework and schoolwork and turning it in each week and began looking for another school. Due to no school choice it wasn't easy. Long story short we found a great school and got her enrolled and I contacted the dept of education. Less than a week later they sent child protective services to our house. Come to find out the other student's aunt was superintendent. They filed a complaint out of spite. I had to prove we had food and a bed and they took my daughter and asked her all types of inappropriate questions about me and her "relationship". She was 9. I was mortified. I got a lawyer and we got everything resolved but for a few weeks I was scared they could take her and I couldn't stop them. There is, it’s called a background check. The parents who allowed someone to watch their kids with child abuse convictions who’d lost custody of her own kids have failed as parents. It costs less than $50 on many websites to look up records on ppl. If you can’t afford to run that check, you can’t afford to have kids. Many places you can contact the county clerk’s office for access to public records for free or just the cost of printing the paper.

For those who don’t have an hour but wanna know what happened:
Marisa was a babysitter for her friend and one day while watching an infant named benson, she became frustrated and threw him forcefully into a pack-n-play. The child hit his head on the corner of the plastic frame and passed away due to the injuries minutes later. Marissa tried to hide his death by putting him in a carrier and going to McDonald’s with her boyfriend. She lied to the boyfriend about the baby’s health so that he would go along with the plan. She then handed the baby off at pickup like everything was normal, leaving the mother to realize he had passed away about half an hour later. Marissa was sentenced to 37 years in jail with another 3 from a secondary child a**use allocation from a few months prior.
