Just keep in mind that ALL carbs turn into sugar !!
Hello, I have had type two diabetes for twenty years. It’s the total number of carbs per meal and snacks. It’s usually 15-20 carbs per snack twice a day and 40-75 carbs per meal. That’s the key. Some foods like oatmeal can cause your blood sugar to spike, so you have to check your blood sugar to see how they affect you.
Also check out the glycemic index for foods. Lots of good info around what the impact of different foods have on your blood sugar.
Benefits of Monk Fruit Sugar
It reduces calories. Because monk fruit sugar is metabolized differently than regular sugar, you can reduce your caloric intake by using it.
It doesn't affect blood sugar. ...
It's anti-inflammatory. ...
It can help fight cancer. ...
It doesn't cause cavities. ...
You only need a little.
I use monk fruit
Do you bake with it also?
Good news
I make breakfast burritos for my husband with low carb tortillas i make a bunch and freeze them .
It’s so awesome that you are doing this with him. Diabetes is a hard battle, especially when everyone in your home is still eating the old way. If you haven’t tried the Dave’s Killer Bread, it’s good. It doesn’t spike my blood sugar like other breads do. And at my grocery it’s cheaper than Ezekiel bread. The low carb tortillas are really good too. Prayers on this new journey!❤
I love your commitment to help him be healthy, but carbs turn into sugar. Diabetics should avoid things like oatmeal etc. Less carbs is better!!!! Don’t just look at the sugar-look at the carbs!!!!!
It’s not only sugar it’s also total carbs cause all carbs turn into sugar unfortunately 😢 it’s a huge learning curve with this food and diabetes that’s for sure but you’ll get it figured out!! I always google things
Yes- stay away from Aspartame and Saccharin! When I was young, that's all they had, but now you have a lot of natural sweeteners that are not made from chemicals. John's blessed to have you taking care of him Renea!
Right. Stevia is fantastic. Zevia sodanif you can get it. It's pricey, at least here in Canada, but it's good
@@catherinerandall1966 I never heard of the Zevia; I'll have to check into that!Thank you!
It's important you look at the carbs as well. Carbs turn to sugar. High Protein low carbs.
they told me and my husband don't worry about the sugar its the carb you have to worry about.
Exactly!!!
They make a sugar substitute that is really good for you. Monkfruit. And stevia is good too. It's the gluten in the bread and wraps bring up the calories and the sugar. They also make sugar free cake mix and icing (unless you want to make your own) same for pasta. The make a lot of pasta with lentils and chickpeas. They also make bread that is still expensive but not 7.00 expensive called Sara Lee lower calorie bread 40 calorie IA slice. They do have so many different things for you both.
I'm newly diagnosed type 2, and I really like the monk fruit sweetener. I recently tried a pillsbury zero sugar moist supreme cake mix and zero sugar frosting, it was good...just a yellow cake mix and milk chocolate frosting. Yum!
You really have to try Cauliflower crust for pizza. When made properly it is absolutely DELISH!!!
As a supportive wife you will help get/keep him on track💞
Yes and Amen.
Hi Renea ❤ I was looking for a recipe for you. Ezekiel bread and found a u- tuber by the name of Grains and Grit. She's a Christian homesteaders like you. Well 7 days ago she posted how to make Ezekiel bread!! She also has videos on making grains for bread making. She uses a bread machine but I know you could make it by hand. I hope you check her out. Have a blessed day my friend. Tell Mr. Wayna his clean shaven face looks great!!! 😅
I use Splenda, I had to stop Metformin, gave me bad diarrhea and bad so Mr. . Wayna be careful.. But I dont go overboard with all that diet food, you still need your protein, I have diabetes at 79 I am careful but not crazy...Peanut butter and mayo ykky. Wave back to Mr. WAyna
Diabetics shouldn’t have no bread bread is full of carbohydrates carbohydrates breaks down into sugar diabetes type two it’s not about having candy and sweets it’s about carbs that breakdown and sugar and also candy yes my husband has been type two for 25 years they should not have any juice and very very littleFruit if any of it should just be blueberries blackberries and a few strawberries. Lots of vegetables meat eggs and some cheese.
I am diabetic type 2 and I agree, in fact when I do cheat, my body lets me know, believe me. I feel better when I eat right, but when I do eat bread, i make sure its wheat or whole grain.
It's not that u can't have bread. Yes it breaks down to sugar but u can watch the amt of carbs per slice and get the lowest carbs. Not everyone can stop day one of not eating breads or sweets. I'm type 2 diabetic and retired RN. I count my carbs and no I don't eat much bread but I can't give up completely. I'm 61 years old and growing up we had bread and dessert with every meal. I can't stop cold turkey, some can and some can't. I had patients at a nursing home who wanted sweets and nursing home wouldn't fix them anything. They didn't have many years left so on way to work on Saturday night I stopped by fast food place and got him hot fudge Sunday...lol we hid it from everyone
Renee please take all advice in stride I am also type 2 all our bodies are different checking a lot when first diagnosed is key I can eat some foods that make my sugar go sky high and others may not you both will figure it out ❤❤🙏🙏🙏
@@Missycookingonabudget agree 100%. Everybody bodies is different and I don't think u should deprive ur self of something u love. I love chocolate and I know it's bad for me and I need protein when my sugar drops. I know when it's dropping even if I'm asleep. I woke up and crave sweets. I get my chocolate sweets and eat 1 carb of it, get my sugar up and I'm happy...lol. After working in a nursing home and having so many diabetics who were deprived of their fav things. I discussed with family if they care I got them a treat once a week and they loved the idea. Patients were so much happier. Did better and loved seeing me on treat night.
@@Cooking_Through_Time yes 💯 it’s really all individual and knowing your body once diagnosed ❤️
My mom would make mayonnaise and sliced tomatoes sandwiches. Good healthy haul, they also have diabetic candy my mom would buy it for my grandma.❤
We both love tomato sandwiches. I like to add thin sliced cucumbers to mine.
Every person is different. It’s trial and error. Bananas spike mine too.
Diabetics cannot have any bread are oatmeal. They are full of carbs that turn to sugar in the blood stream.A diabetic cannot have sugar but they also have to limit the carbs to almost nothing. And it sucks.
I reversed my T2D by eating very low carbs, no sugar, no grains, no salt and healthy veggies and fruit as well as protein. I’ve lost 160 pounds over 2 ½ years; it can be done if a person is motivated and determined to maintain good health. Good luck!
We are determined to reverse his. We just need the learn what will work for him. So glad for you and what a wonderful blessing.
Check out the carbohydrates in sugar free. They can get quite high and turn to sugar.
Good Morning Michigan! Got laser treatment on my eye yesterday (what an ordeal, the recovery). The Eye Doctor (MD also) said you can really prolong your lifes' length by controlling your blood sugar.
Hope you recover fast with no troubles.
Yeah I take meta-Forman been taking it for a long time now they end up having to double mine. I have to do it twice a day I’m A tea drinker, and I don’t like it without sugar so you can use monk fruit to replace the sugar and it doesn’t taste bad when you’re looking at products ingredients if it says no sugar, check out the carbs carbs turn into sugar you have to look at both
I’ll bet you will be able to make any foods you found at the store that he likes that’s pricey. As you get more familiar with the good ingredients. I have ALL faith in you!!
Count carbs (below 20 daily) and eat protein not processed meats.
You are blessed where you live...so many options. My protein bread here in BC, Canada is 6.98 a small loaf. I went from stress induced highest blood sugar they had ever seen, to normal range. I have learned through trial and error. I bake still, using almond flour and my family are blown away with what i make. My diet is extremely low carb. I also fast 18-20 hours so I have just one blood sugar rise. My dr was stunned. The endocrinologist wanted me on ozempic, insulin and metformin. No way! I said No! Apple cider vinegar with water is so good in getting the blood sugar regulated. Getting cold or hot will shoot your numbers up drastically so bear that in mind this summer. No dr ever told me, but I saw that when I froze cleaning out my gutters! There really is no going back to the old way of eating. Pizza, burgers etc are killers. The flour we use has changed drastically since the fifties. It is pure sugar, even more so than white table sugar! Survival HT channel has a fantastic explanation. Wish you all the best on this new journey.
Could you please tell me how much apple cider vinegar to how much water?
Good morning Renee. Im so happy to see you're taking care of Mr. Wayne. I'm type 2 and as you know there are so many foods now that you can buy that are dedicated to sugar free. When my mom was diagnosed 20 or so years ago, there were not many choices to purchase. I get criticized occasionally for some of the foods I cook and video. But, I don’t cook and eat like this all the time. There is also an amazing sugar free cake mix. I think its Pillsbury that puts it out. All I've seen is chocolate and vanilla but it satisfies the sweettooth.
Awesome health news! Compare the pros & cons on meds (B12 absorption & anemia).
Look into resistant starch..that happens when you refrigerate or even freeze foods like potatoes pasta or rice over night. A chemical change happens that converts starches into something the body doesn't recognize as sugar. BUT use your glucose meter to make sure it works in you.
Yes my friend I read an article about resistant starch. I am going to try this with potatoes and see if it spikes his blood sugar, if not then it will be wonderful for him as he absolutely loves potatoes.
Something is WRONG with your cat.🙁
No she thinks she needs to eat whenever we are in the kitchen. She is screaming at us to feed her and she has a bowl full of food now. She is a goofy cat but I just love her.
Black rice is good for people with diabetes.
Make his lemonade yourself and add your own choice of sweetener.😊
There is an Ezekiel Bread Recipe on line ... just search Ezekiel Bread Recipe and a number of them come up.
Hello I have watched your videos for a long while and have even tried many of your recipes and have loved them. But I am emailing you cause I have been a diabetic for over twenty years. Until the last year I finally listen to my new doctor and by following her advice I lowered my carbs and am now went to non insulin diabetic. Also I have lost over 100 pounds. I have went from an A1C level of 10.9 to 7.2 which is great and I was told as long I continue to follow her advice I can remain insulin free.
I watched the few videos about his new diabetic life and hate to see you spend extra money on food. I am sure you have had a lot of advice and mine is just another but wanted to let you know.
Good luck Ginny Crabtree
Hey my friend! Been fighting type 2 diabetes for 25 years. I feel your frustration and John’s pain. Portion control and low carb lots of lean protein have helped me. I did have gastric bypass surgery which put me in remission until a few years ago. Genetically I am predisposed to. So now I have been on a weekly shot of Ozempic. It had lowered my A1C from 7.2 down to 5.4. Before my surgery I was on 4 shots of insulin, almost 300 lbs. Now I am 160 lbs. My eyes are damaged so I have to go to the eye doctor a lot.
I found monk fruit to be the closest sweetener to sugar. The texture is similar and it doesn’t spike your BS.
This is a hard thing to relearn lifelong ways but you will do it! So happy he is making insulin and can go on metformin! Best wishes prayers and love ❤
Oh my goodness thank you Jayne. He was told that this is reversable, and I am so hoping we can achieve that. He is having alot of trouble with his eyes and his Dr. said that when his sugar gets under control then his eyes will get better. His A1c wat greater than 14 and his sugar was 802 when they discovered this. We are going to try monk fruit. Yes this is life changing that is for sure.
You have each other. You couldn't possibly lead a boring life.!!
Sucralose is splenda
Gooood Morning Sweet Couple☕️☺️ PraYers going up for Mr. Wayna's sugars to stabilize & stay that way...Glad to see you're feeling better too~
Ooohhhh Ezekiel bread is soooo good toasted!! I absolutely love it!!
Just replace sugar in any recipe with honey or real maple syrup. You can have natural sugar not processed sugar. Watch the carbs more. Carbs are turned into sugar. You can eat berries, but watch fruit like watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes thou.that
Maple syrup has a lower glycemic index (GI) than honey, with a GI of 54 compared to honey's 58. Sugar has a glycemic index of 65. BUT Maltodextrin which is used frequently in sugar free products has a glycemic index (GI) of 95-136, which is higher than table sugar's GI of 65. A higher GI means that food or additives are digested more quickly, enter the bloodstream, and raise blood sugar levels faster.
You will find it very hard to find any diabetic food on sale ever
Aldi's is a great place for prices on cheese,
do they have the baby bell there?
Hey Renee! I am not diabetic but my husband is type 2. Just read this week that parboiled rice is better than regular rice. It has a lower glycemic rate. You can use pure maple syrup as a sweetener. Also fiber helps with your carb count. Love your channel! God bless to you both!
As a diabetic I know the struggle❤
Brown rice has arsenic on it, I stay totally away from that. Try using barley in cabbage soup and I use that rice in a plastic jug . It has like 13 different kinds of rice, I use it all my soups. That’s the only way I can eat that rice. I can’t think of the name, it’s I. A plastic jar I love it in soups. Healthy.
@dianneeparish3989 Could you be talking about the company Lundberg. They make many kinds of rice.
Yes, in fact, I read an article about brown rice and inorganic arsenic. Both brown and white rice contain it but brown rice is higher in concentration of inorganic arsenic.. You would have to eat a semi load at once to get poisoned, however, they are not sure of the long term affects of eating it. They say it can cause lung cancer and cardiovascular disease. Very interesting. I do say we will stay away from brown rice.
There are several different zero sugar or no sugar drinks true lemonade, Florida's natural zero sugar, minute maid zero sugar all no aspartame in them .I'm going thru the same thing trying to cut out sugars .love your channel you inspire me.
Morning Renae nice haul. Will Mr. Wayna eat the mini bell Peppers red,yellow,.Org., cut spread cream cheese and sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning very tasty snack.Put a paper towel in bag of bread wither on counter or to freeze. Paper towel absorbs the moisture ir gives it back. But leave it in the bag till you have eatin all the bread. Learned this from manager at a day old bread store years ago. Works on buns too. Can't use any sub sugars. Have to take benadril or look out.y Find sp[spinach on sale or marked sown cut stems off and dehyddrate. Just rehydrate in warm water and put in your recipes or egg bites. Really comes in handy in winter when so expensive.
Aww, I'm sad for him about the grapes. I know he loves them. I'm also sure you all will get this under control. ❤
My husband has been diabetic for 32 years now. You can do this!
Make sure that John checks his blood sugar closely after eating anything with oats in it, such as oatmeal, for most people it raises glucose levels drastically and then gives a big drop again in a few hours. Grapes are notorious for that too. If he wants to eat grapes have him consume just 1 handful after eating a high protein, high fiber and good fat meal. Using his glucose meter to determine what foods do to his system is key.
I can eat basmati rice without any problems. It’s low glycemic index so it’s diabetic friendly.
Something you could make for him is some homemade freezer jam with the fruit you get from flash food. Especially the strawberries. Just buy the Sure Jell in the pink package and use the no sugar added recipe. Then use some stevia or monk fruit sweetener to sweeten it. I made it for my Mother and she loved it. I didn’t like actually canning it, I wasn’t sure if it was safe or not so I always just froze it.
FYI, also SPRITE ZERO IS AWESOME..
COKE ZERO HAS STEVVA EXTRACT..Both are great!
Peanut butter and mayo is the best..ur the man john...glad ur feeling better also..keep up the great work..nice haul..have a wonderful day and keep smiling cause u both r beautiful ❤️
My husband is dibetic. I have learned growing up in a family that has dibetic people in it, that everyone is different. Fruits, veggies & meat works for my husband & keeps his blood regular. Carbs raises his sugar for him. His mom couldn't eat fruit it raised hers. So don't just read labels test before & after meals and you will find what meals work for you. Libar testers were a saving grace. Now hes pre- dibetic its easy to now.
If you google low carb “breads”, there are some that take just tablespoons of flour and use whipped cream for the rise. I used to make them in muffin tins, and I was even able to fry the batter flat for “pancakes”😊
If you’re using “real” bread, make your sandwiches open-face to reduce the bread carbs. I used to wrap meat and cheese in romaine leaves to make a no bread sandwich.
I’m happy to see all the good stuff you got for Mr Wayna you doing a good job helping him out with his sugar intake you guys are just amazing people from Philadelphia
what a caring wife, I am a cronic diebetic and fruits jump my sugar levels like you wouldnt belive, I have to becareful, and "I love watermellon, uggg
My hubby loves watermelon. You can have 1/2 cup but who the heck can only eat 1/2 cup of it. That is like eating 2 potato chips. Lol. Stuff like that we will need to avoid. He does eat lots of berries.
@@LittleVillageHomestead i hear you, love watermeelon
Check out RUclipsr “Indigo Nili”. She makes terrific egg white bread - almost 0 carbs.
That's high carbs for bread 😪 I've been a type 2 diabetics since 1996.It's a struggle for sure.
Hey Renee!!! Check out Monk Fruit all natural sweetener!!!!! I love it and it doesn't taste bad the only thing is it's EXPENSIVE!!!!
Oh my. I dont know anyone else besides me who loves mayo & p'nut butter sandwiches. Mr Wayno - Im with you, these are great sandwiches!!! Enjoy. Isnt it horrible they put aspercream in good food & ruin it??? God bless you both from grandma Katie in Oregon
Renea, I'm going to send you a message via Facebook. I was diagnosed type 2 last year, 2 weeks before Christmas. I love that pitcher/vase you found...it will be gorgeous with your lilacs in it!
Your doing a great job for your husbsnd. But i would say eat what he Eats.
We do eat the same foods.
I didn't know. I apologize if I was being rude as that was not my intention.
Well Renee you and that wonderful husband of yours you will get a handle on this I know you will it's hard but I know you will get it I am praying for you all love you guys you take care and I will see you in your next video Intel Mr John he will be okay with you helping him you will get it love you guys
My daughter likes PB & Mayo sandwiches too.
We both are diabetic.
Hello Renee I was also looking for a recipe on u tube for Ezekiel bread and I found Rose homestead u tube. I'm looking into making it too, just thought I'd mention it as you did. God bless you both.❤️
Please do your research on Metformin. There’s been some alarming studies done on it and the effects.
I need to catch up on your videos pertaining to his diabetes diagnosis. I do watch you sometimes but not real often. Anyways I was diagnosed 5 years ago. I lost 40 pounds within about a month without even trying and was sick everyday. Unquenchable thirst, and having to use the bathroom every half hour cause of it. I woke up one day and couldn't hardly see, my eyes were blurry, I made an eye doctor appointment and he told me your eyes can just go blurry for no reason, he never asked about my blood sugar or anything. So I wore glasses for a month and one night coming home from work my eyes went blurry with the glasses on. I took them off and could see normal again. My mom and relatives kept urging me to go to a Dr to see if I was diabetic cause almost everyone of my mom's sibling's were. Yep. Blood sugar over 600 and a1c 15.5. I was prescribed 4 metformin a day and tradjenta. It took weeks before my numbers started coming down and I started feeling well again. My a1c has been 6.2 and below for the past 5 years. I do have cheat meals, but I stick to being pretty low carb. You will just have to see what different things do to your blood sugar. I personally can't have oatmeal at all. It makes me jump into the 200s within half hour. It will be a learning experience trying to find out what you can and can't eat. Sorry so long, but I'm always interested in telling my story and seeing others deal with this also
Black beans are great, but they do spike me. I take a tiny amount. A study on 100 plus year old people all had two foods In common. Walnuts and black beans lol. Since I started eating walnuts daily...it's a life changer. My gut is absolutely loving it
Good Morning ☀️ ❤
When taking metformin you need to have magnesium supplements with it. Its very important for diabetics.
I’m type 2 gonna be 30 in couple weeks just on metformin currently, just came across this channel ❤
There are videos for Ezekiel bread from other homesteading. Especially those who mill their own grains. Plus on fruits. Easier way for myself to remember is anything ending with berries. You can have. Others you have to limit yourself on amounts. Hope this help
I thought I was alone with peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches! I can’t stand jelly.
Renea, I'm so impressed with how you have approached this. I can tell you're doing a whole lot of research. I'm glad you are, because along with following Mr. Wayna's doctors' advice, doing your own research is what will help you the most. Everyone means well, but everybody's situations are different, and what helps others may not help John at all. But it looks like you're well on your way to figuring it all out and getting him back to good health. Just remember, portion sizes matter, count those carbs, and check blood sugar levels as directed by the doctor, and things will fall into place for you. I'm interested to see if you notice any changes for yourself as well. In college, several friends were diabetic, and all of us ate exactly the same things. It wasn't very long before even those of us who weren't at that time diabetic were able to feel the changes in our own blood sugar levels. Several of us were later diagnosed, and what we learned all those years ago served us well.
Looking forward to the new recipes. Have a great holiday weekend!
Why are you buying Cool Whip? Real whipped cream is natural and doesn't need much sugar and has no chemicals in it. When Cool Whip goes bad, it gets little spots that are all different colors. I am just concerned as you are always talking about cooking and baking from scratch so you know what is in your food and I would think you would not touch Cool Whip.
You can make your own Strawberry Lemonade, waterbath can it and have it on your shelf to make as you need it. Ball (the canning company) has the recipe on its website or just google the recipe. You can make it without sugar and sweeten it when you make it.
I’m telling you Apple cider vinegar once a day will keep the doctor away….about a half or full tablespoon of apple cider vinegar,a little lemon in a full glass of water… you need to buy the apple cider vinegar with the mother and preferably organic and Brand name Braggs is best.
You need to count the carbs not the sugar. Oats are high carbs.
I cannot take oatmeal. Rice, brown or white and potatoes all spike me drastically
There are good resources online for making Ezekiel bread. Just really need to sprout your grains and legumes. ❤
I am also diabetic. 1 of the best foods to eat should contain fibre. Also test your sugar levels. There are quite a few sugar substitutes that are worse than sugar. Check online, n find more than 1 source. Berries best for diabetes. Check each piece of food online for carbs. All the carbs add up fast. Good luck n God bless you both. Be careful when it says sugar free, cause they add sugar in some form.
You need to keep an eye on John. I’ve noticed for a long time he’s always in the frig eating something. He should only eat 3 meals a day and a controlled snack 3 times a day. I know it’s ruff but his health will determinate much faster if he doesn’t control all his eating constantly. God blessings 💕🙏🙏
How is ur blood sugar?
Mine is fine and my A1c is 5.
The Amish store in my daughter's town sells Ezekiel bread that they make so I am sure you can make your own. I googled and found several recipes.
20 grapes for diabetics. 1 small banana is safe for diabetics.
Very high protein diet is good- nor processed meats though. Have his plate filled with the protein & small portions of anything else. Good luck! He's lucky to have you ❤
🥰 awwww I love lilacs and Lilly of the valley. My favorites. Will be praying for you Mister
Grains & Grit Felicity has a Ezekiel bread recipe. She has a lot of info on most grains.
Renee, instead of buying sugar-free, you should be buying. No sugar added. It is healthier because John can put as much of the monk fruit in whatever he's eating as he want. It does not spike blood sugar. All natural real grown fruit. I think no sugar added is cheaper than sugar free. I think he will like adding monkfruit as needed very much. I have been diabetic since 1990. All artificial sweeteners are bad. Monkfruit is good. TASTES GOOD TOO!
Protein is essential for us all but especially diabetics working to control blood sugar levels. Carbs really do turn to sugar. This haul should last him months if he is seeking good control.
Take plastic bags to food bank if throwing away. They can always use them
I buy sunbutter, its like peanut butter but its made with sunflower seed and you cant tell the difference. Its very good. I am a diabetic also.
Renae-Once you find out what John likes as far as the groceries you’ve bought, check out Azure Standard. They have lots of diabetic options and their products are much healthier, as well as cheaper when bought in bulk. I like that most of their items are organic as well as non-gmo and as I said they have lots of diabetic options. They also have the rice and the whole grain pastas like you showed. I can’t use stevia because I’m allergic to ragweed, and Stevia is from the same family as ragweed. Monkfruit is a very good option for a diabetic. Fresh, whole foods are better than frozen, and frozen is better than canned (commercially), and canned is better than processed to infinity, as you know. And as you are learning, everything in moderation. What works for one person might not work for another, but there are “guidelines” to start with. It can be very challenging to change a diet so drastically. I’m sure John’s drs. as well as his body, will be your best guides. There are lots of places that do classes as well to help with the transition and learning curve that is needed for such a drastic change.
I love cooking brown rice in veggy broth. Then i put chopped red onion and chopped cherry tomatoes on top. Yummy
What about regular low sugar or no sugar oatmeal with your freeze dried fruit. You could even powder it.
Peanut Butter/Butter, every once in a great while I'll have a half PB/Mayo sandwich.
You tube channel, Mary’s Nest, has info on sprouting grains and grinding grains. She has a lot of amazing other stuff on her channel.
I’m glad your husband is doing better. Thank you for sharing your life. I have learned so much!!!
@lindascott6637 Yes Mary's Nest is great. I like it a lot and she's a very pleasant person like Renea. ❤
We are diabetic also, we use Monk Fruit to sweeten our drinks with and on our oatmeal. It’s expensive but worth it, and we don’t use it all the time.
I found the beasan (chick pea )flour is what I use for cookies and sweet breads with maple syrup or honey or coconut sugar
