- In this video we'll be covering the Life and Story of Barry Burton from Resident Evil. Which we Explain his role prior to Mission in the Arklay Mountains and Spencer Mansion from Resident Evil 1. We also explain his role as a front man for the True Traitor in RE1, which we discover it was Albert Wesker all along.
We also cover his life after his career with the RPD's STARS ended during the Raccoon City incident. We also cover his connection with Robert Kendo and his eventual creation of the Samurai Edge.
We Then Explain his strained Relationship with his eldest Daughter Moira and how Barry blamed Moira for an accident that happened Years prior to Resident Evil Revelations 2. Which in that game covers the relationship dynamic between Barry and Moira and how in the end would be resolved.

How about RE9 where Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Rose Winters, Rebecca Chambers, Barry, Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ashley (now with Military training), Sherry Berkin and any other annoying AI companion who isn't dead to taking on Ada Wong because I think she is the person who receives the information given out by Lucas Baker at the end of the RE7 Not a Hero DLC

Barry Burton is my favourite RE protagonist. This guy was neglected for a long time. But when Revelations 2 came out I was hyped and enjoyed every minute of Barry's mission. He may not be the youngest anymore but he showed that he's still a force to be reckoned with. The only mistake he made was that he didn't shoot Wesker in the head when had the chance.
I loved that you mentioned that even though he may not be young anymore he still has that experience and grit.
@@HeYDeVuH, he`s still strong enough to open heavy doors and hold them in place. Claire and Moira are hardly able to do this when working together. And he can still take a beating by someone with super human strength. And as far as I know he´s an instructor in the BSAA which means he uses his experience to trainm the next generation of heros.
The only mistake I meant was not shooting Albert Wesker in the Head in RE1. Without a head not even Progenitor- or any other Virus can bring him back.

Barry's been my favorite Resident Evil character since RE1. I like to see Chris Redfield and Barry Burton duo together in the next game or so. Time for Chris and Barry to reunite.
My favorite part of Barry’s play through is the opening cutscene. Barry went to that island strapped to the TEETH! All like “I’m tired of the mf biohazards, on this mf planet!” He was not fucking around.

@@HeYDeVuH True, he was easily the best thing about RE Revelations 2, though Claire and Moira were great too with their one liners. It's an underrated game in my opinion.
I also got a Lee/Clementine, Joel/Ellie vibe between Barry/Natalia and would have loved seeing a crossover where those characters bump into each other and have a brief exchange on their similar experiences.

Growing up I felt robbed by resident evil. After part 3 there was this whole “we’re going to go and take down umbrella!” I always expected this huge game with all the survivors teaming up to take down umbrella. But it never happened. I know In either dark side or umbrella chronicles they kind of did something but it seems weird to me even now that a full fledge game came of that.
Or there wasn't much of Rebecca and Barry and alot more Chris and Leon

Umbrella Chronicles DID have something close...but it was just Chris & Jill and an anti-Umbrella military team. While simultaneously Wesker was there to get the UMF-013 which had all of Umbrellas research data.
The closest we got to this scenario is RE 6 but that would be a blasphemy to the whole franchise. (Tho I'm one of the rare specie that liked RE6 for what it is)

It is fitting because we know he wanted to make amends for what he did in Resident Evil 1
Barry always was a special character to me. I was only 6yo when RE1 came out. At the time the game was very difficult and very scary. But my man Barry was there multiple times to help you and was always such a relief when you would encounter him. I remember I would always start the game over because I knew that after the lab the mansion had flipping hunters in there.
Barry really grew on me back in REV2 so I hope we get to see him and Moira more. Also, that supposed leaks from VILlage where in Alextalia murdered his family and turned them (plus Claire) into the Dimetrescu sisters was just mind blowing AF 😅😂

Barry Burton is still one of best characters in the Resident Evil series, he had to deal with a lot of problems that were out of his control, starting with the Spencer Mansion incident in the Arklay Mountains outside Raccoon City, the RPD S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team was sent in to investigate various murders on July 22 1998, but the RPD lost contact with them on July 23 just a day later, S.T.A.R.S. Alpha was sent in to try to find and rescue bravo team, but before Alpha team left Wesker blackmailed Barry Burton into helping him get rid S.T.A.R.S. and collect combat data for Umbrella, Jill Valentine did find Barry suspicious in the Spencer Mansion until she found Enrico S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team leader, he found out that S.T.A.R.S. was set up by Umbrella and there was traitor on there team, he was going to reveal who it was but was shot and killed by them, it really pointed in Barry's direction but Jill couldn't prove it, until they both ran into Lisa Trevor and had to fight her, Barry didn't have time to explain not even after Lisa got what she wanted from her mother's grave her mother's skull, both Barry and Jill continued into the Umbrella lab untill the final room with the Tyrant in it, Barry then pointed his gun at Jill and Wesker thanked Barry for it, then Wesker reveals he was behind all of this and just used Barry for his own interests, this was all just a bluff to scare Barry into serving Albert Wesker, Umbrella was never really going to harm Barry's family they didn't know that Wesker was going to betray them, Wesker released the tyrant and was supposedly killed by it, but managed to set off the self destruction sequence of the Spencer Mansion, Jill rescued Chris Redfield from a prison cell and all three of them managed to escape the mansion before it exploded, after the Spencer Mansion incident all the surviving S.T.A.R.S. members tried to prove that this was all Umbrella's doing, but the RPD police chief Brian Irons didn't believe them at all because he was secretly in Umbrella's pocket all this time, Barry moved his family to Canada to avoid umbrella and keep them safe, he even tells his family that he has to go back to help his friends and his former S.T.A.R.S members, he went back to Raccoon City in time to save Jill and Carlos from being nuked by the U.S. government, we don't hear from Barry Burton for quite a bit until Resident Evil Revelations 2, when his daughter Moira was kidnapped by Alex Wesker while working for Terra Save with Claire Redfield, both Moira and Claire had to call out for help beacuse they were both infected with the t-Phobos Virus, a t-Virus variant that's based on fear made by Alex Wesker, it took over 6 months for Barry to get this rescue message from Claire who was able to escape the island, Barry returned to the old Russian island to hopefully find Moira, he didn't find her when he got there but he found a little girl named Natalia, she had a mysterious power that allowed her to see things that normal people couldn't, she used this power to help Barry find Moira beacuse they met briefly months ago, both Barry and Natalia did manage to find Moira and ended up facing Alex Wesker in her final from, Claire did manage to come back and give sniper assistance to Barry, he was able to finish off Alex Wesker the last child of Project W by Spencer, everyone was able to escape the island and have the BSAA raid the island and wipeout whatever B.O.W.s were left, everyone made it back home and Barry decided to adopt Natalia and give her a new family, however it seems that Alex may have transfered her consciousness into Natalia's body, we don't get a solid answer on this so it's all speculation, Barry Burton did prove he truly cares about protecting his family and all of his friends he's had, thank you for your excellent video on covering Barry Burton HeY DeVuh, proving that he is an awesome Resident Evil character ✌️

Barry's lie in RE1 when he kept saying he was going back to check the dining room was funny. And Wesker blackmailing Barry would have worked out better if he'd actually had an Umbrella team at the Burton house ready to kill Kathy, Moira and Polly if Barry didn't do as he said instead of it being an empty threat.

That's a great question, It'd be a very difficult situation for Barry especially after Adopting her.
Barry lowkey is honestly the most tragic character of the main cast.

I can do that
In Alex's pursuit of immortality (from the files of Revelations 2), she concluded that it would be biologically impossible. However, it would be possible by sending a digitalized "soul" of her into a subject. To help maintain this immortality, she would need to choose a vessel that could withstand the virus while reaping the positive benefits. This is where 2 experiments were created: the first being the creation of the T-Phobos virus, which was highly lethal (less than a 2% chance of survival) while only activating through a heavy emotional trauma (fear). The second experiment was to find a vessel that could withstand the virus. Terra Save was a natural place to look due to many of the people overcoming many hardships, which was why the list was composed in episode 3.
Ultimately, they chose a young girl named Natalia. She was one of the very few survivors from Terragregia (From Revelations 1). The traumatic experience robbed her of any capability to show fear. The only problem, aside from waiting 6 months for the transfer to be complete, was her young age, which would be fixed with time.
So, getting into the main part (sorry for the previous wall), what happened was that just before she pulled the trigger to continue the transfer, she showed fear in the last second, keeping Alex alive. She then used mechanical parts to keep her body alive.
The digital Transfer results in making a clone called Dark Natalia (a little bit difficult because Little Miss makes it seem like Dark Natalia is a physical person, but the story itself shows her to be moreso inside her head

I always wonder where Moira is during RE2/3 because it's known she's in raccoon city during the outbreak and she's an important character but we never see her anywhere.
Nothing against leon, and bad jokes aside I have always loved Barry and would of loved to see more of him. Always hope as its always possible for them to do more games before racoon city goes bang. Gave me a lifelong love for magnum revolvers. First gun was a 357 and keep sliding up the spectrum, just love that 44.
Barry was great. Also that cliffhanger at the of RE Revelations 2 does indicate that this narrative with Natalia and Barry could still continue on

My biggest disappointment and upset of resident evil 3 remake is that they don’t bring Barry burton in game despite being his appearance in ending of game being canon

I can tell you one thing
Even tho ( correct me if I'm wrong) even tho he's not really a soldier, if it's one thing I admire him for is the sacrifice he will made to save his friends , that scene in re1 where he betrayed Jill and Chris for helping wesker with the experiments when wesker have Barry family hostage, is one heart warming scenes of all
And if you play the original re1 the classic version of the game ( only on ps1) you see there are three endings .
I don't know if you notice anything different in the second fight with yawn where Jill find a space at the bottom and she jump , Barry hear Jill asking for help and he tell Jill hold on I'll go for a rope .
If you wait for Barry you will get the good ending if not you will get bad ending .
But other than that all Barry ever think about is his daughter moira Burton because he don't want to see her in this situation he is with the virus outbreak .

I would like to see more of Barry. Revelations was 8 years ago and we have had NOTHING regarding Barry for all that time. I would like to see more of Barry, maybe in a game set before Revelations. He's also the only one to "keep it real" as I like to put it. Leon sold out to the government to become just a goon with a gun and Chris became a manic depressive, boulder hating jarhead with all the likeability of an overflowing toilet. I'm old school and so I am a bit bitter about how the series has moved but Barry is the only one who hasn't had his character flipped. He's not some highly trained government goon or some manic depressive, self hating piece of wood. Barry has been the family man and avid gun nut we know him as. I guess we can be grateful that he hasn't had such a massive character flip.

With this video and the Marvin video were absolutely awesome but I’m having trouble figuring out how they fit in the explaining evil playlist. Neither one of these guys were evil. I mean okay Marvin turned into a zombie but that wasn’t his fault. And right up until he turned he tried to help people. As far as Barry well yes Barry had a brief point where he was turned against his fellow team members but that wasn’t his decision either and he did the right thing in the end. Excellent videos both of these but I think they might belong in a different playlist.

I think Capcom was testing the waters in Rev 2. They wanted to make an unlikable protagonist and see how people would react. And people really really liked it because despite his flaws Barry was still a very root-for-able main character. And now with Chris being apart of Blue Umbrella, and kinda sorta getting Ethan killed and having to look Mia and Rose in the eyes knowing that fact, he may be headed down a dark path. And if so, fucking awesome. I honestly think characters like Leon and Chris have always been held back by needing to be at the height of morality. Chris more than Leon. And because of this, a lot of people do not give a shit about Chris because a big strong alpha male self inserty mister america character is often not very compelling. At least to me.
Oh and also I need Barry being an old man in retirement in the next game. Let these characters retire !!!

Body cams weren't really a thing until the 2000s. Everyone would have to have a Hi8 camcorder mounted on their shoulder like the predator's cannon. But then Capcom apparently forgot RE1-3 take place in 1998 too so I fully expect to see that.
