Truck is GMC 5 -Star General, year 1986 model and has 8V92T Silver 2-stroke V8 Detroit Diesel engine in it and 13sp Eaton Fuller transmission.

+Alec Glass My dad drove one that had a 8v92TT with a 15 speed Eaton with a tall gear he said he could only get to 13th gear because we don't have enough road but in 13th it was doing over a 100 miles an hour.

gmc general was the best truck ever built
One of the only times I would prefer a bracket race to a heads up race. Car vs. a truck, almost every truck will lose. Set it up in brackets tho...then it is the driver...
Its was really not a race (even though title says "vs."), just open day for everyone to see what their equipment is capable of, no matter if its bike, car, truck, plane or couch :D And of course you want to utilize both tracks. If someone would want heads up race with evenly matched setup, it was arranged.

The 8V92 started to replace the 12V71 in a lot of applications in those days. The V12 had an appetite for fuel!
Ikr my 76 Pete has a 12v71 twin turbos makes over 650hp plans are to put a 16v71 in over this next winter hopefully gonna try to get 900 hp out of it
