Absolutely no disrespect to the other contestants, but it was pretty clear to me that Frankie was a step above from the start. So technically clean and precise - and above all else, musical. Great idea for a show, hope for more in the future!
Julez Michaud first episode You knew who was taking it home and everyone of the judges did 2. They needed better competition. That man has a Big polished bag of tricks!!
Frankie killed it. You can see the fun and confidence in his eyes while looking at Alex. Bands are gonna be calling his ass. I want to see those damn 17 minutes.
Anthony Flanagan you are smoking crack! What bands do you think are watching this shit? No one with money gives a fuck. lol the 80's are gone and you can't sell shred guitar anymore. I hate that more than anyone but it's true! The music industry is done
I dont know about the bands thing, but he really kicked some asses there..and you can almost feel the fun growing up in those two as the duel goes forward...they really have some good time in that stage and thats what matters
Everyone here is so talented, yet so fucking humble!!!! This is why I love metal! We are a fucking family! Bring it in brothers! PS I loved this show! What a brilliant idea! Not just as a show, but to get people playing!
Thrashers of metal, speeders of metal, grinders of metal, math-ers of metal, death-ers of metal, prog-ers of metal....just to get started.....that would kick so much ass!
Frankie was consistently the best all along, no doubt about it. On a different note, I would have loved to see an all around jam session at the end with those guys and Alex Skolnick (and maybe Sam on bass, ha)!
I'm going to write my comment in BangerTV Reviews fashion: The Good: This whole series was a blast to watch. The finale was particularly epic and truly had some jaw dropping moments. The three panel judges with our favorites from Banger was great, but having Alex from Testament as a judge really added some clout and weight to the competition as a whole. I enjoyed the variety of segments and the various types of guitar skills that each segment showcased. Blayne was a great host as always. I would watch 1000 more of this show and look forward to hopefully more to come! The Bad: Limiting this competition to one day of shooting did make it seem rushed. I'm sure Alex was only available for that day, and having the contestants travel to the studio for prolonged time would be problematic I'm sure, and was most likely the reasoning for this, but a few wardrobe changes would trick the audience just fine :). I would have liked more exposition from all of the judges from each segment and wouldn't have minded an overall longer length in each episode. A little more glimpse behind the curtain would have been great to see, specifically knowing how much time did the contestants have to prepare, playing some clips from the contestants' bands, and expanding on the winner's bio and the prize. Was a guitar strap the only prize? If so, I think that next time you should get some sponsors who can provide a good prize for this competition whether it be cash, studio time or gear. I think the sound quality could have been a little better. I would suggest filming the next one in a music hall or venue with a live audience. That would amp up the energy all around, provide a superior sound set up, and charge the contestants to play with more finesse and gravitas. Having this at various venues could really prompt being able to do this in different countries and locations, and could ultimately lead to having a winner from each season/country squaring off in the Ultimate Shredders of Metal where all the champions square off for one epic show! Some of the post segments could have been better planned out and informative, specifically Blayne's corner where it was the same joke each episode. The Verdict: While I wrote more negative than good, I really loved this series, and my critiques of the series were meant to be merely suggestions for how to make this epic series really get turned up to 11. I appreciate and love that you all are doing this to start with, and I hope that it grows and blossoms into more contests. My dream judge for this would have to be Dave Mustaine for future seasons. Well done and keep up the awesome work everyone! 4 skulls out of 5!
They play together well. Im a bluegrass flatpicker, so i dont claim to know much about the shred; but both their playing left me wanting to hear more. Respect from me!
Better than all talent shows I had seen, with all intelligent humor, musicality, creativity, fair judges and honesty, challenging parts. Well done Frankie, you deserved to win.
I honestly didn't expect a prize, I was shocked when he said strap and was like "that's so cool a custom strap". But now that I think about it, what incentive would one have to be on the show in the future? Or will it be purely for sport and competition, maybe even exposure. And how would Frankie feel when the season 2 winner gets a Diezel half stack and he's over in the corner stroking his strap.
I love that the two finalists were having more fun with this than actually being competitive. Can we please get a upload of the full clip of them playing??
Respect to all of the contestants, had to have been a nerve-racking experience being up there on their own. Congrats to Frankie on a well deserved victory and to BangerTV. I didn't think I'd have any interest in this series at all but it was quite entertaining to watch. Good job by all, time for a round beers!
A friend told me about this series.. I'm hooked!! All great players.. just note that "shredding" isn't just speed picking and lagato runs.. 2 key things? Suduce and embrace.. that formula will give anyone the feels!! Love this!! Can't wait to watch more!!
This episode was so fucking great. I was on Team Zubair, but kudos to Frankie! There’s a good reason it came down to these two finalists. Excited to see where this show goes next 🎸
It was pretty clear they would both be the finalists, but Frankie showed obsession over cleanliness. Alex definitely had a few spills, and as a lot of people have mentioned, his tone overall wasn't on the same level as Frankies. I want to see both of them start youtube channels and upload jams, they're both happily contagious.
Houndovhell Well put! I don’t disagree with anything you said. While they were both highly skilled, I have no issue admitting that Frankie’s playing was cleaner. I personally preferred Zubair because I loved his passion and how evident it was in his playing. They both have a very different approach to guitar, so it was really cool watching them play off each other and work so well together in this episode. It may have technically been competitive, but it ended up sounding more collaborative than anything. As I was informed in the comments of another episode, Zubair is in a death metal band called Nephelium. I haven’t had much of a chance to listen but it’s on my list. I’d be curious if Frankie is in any bands currently.
The judges and the participants are like the nicest guys in metal. Especially the finalists - I think it takes great character to retain your humility when you're SO DAMN GOOD.
It was pretty clear that Frankie was going to win this. I think he also has more theory under his belt which makes him more comfortable experimenting and still follow the cord progressions.
Too much flanger and effects on Alex tone for my preference, it was hard to hear his notes, but Frankie had crystal clear tone and had better palm muting . Congrats to all shredders this was so much fun to watch I may try to enter next season
Well played! I loved Alex's energy, but Frankie had so many melodies in his back pocket that made me sit on the edge of my seat. BangerTV, you've made something really special here. Better than anything I've seen in a long time.
Frankie was still better, but Alex really did a lot better here than he did in the other competitions. His tone still sounds like ass though, and it really hurts the clarity of his solos. I think it would have been a closer contest if they had the same tone. Alex's ice pick tone makes everything he does sound sloppier than it probably actually is.
It's different style. Vernon Reid has a similar sound. I think that with that type of sound you have to focus more on the musical ideas than speed, and unfortunately for Alex , Frankie also had more ideas to express.
Im a Testament fan and watching Skolnick being such a great guy made me a fan even more. It never was a contest. Frankie C was the obvious best shredder since episode one. I also did like Sim Diamond a lot. Wanted to see him in the final shred war.
Thanks for representing the metal community! Not many outlets like this for metalheads. Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed watching this competition. Would love to see more things like this!
MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN HEARD!At last a talent show with pure skill and metal! This should be on Sat and cable instead of these shitshows that take place now days.
Bring us season 2! This was such an awesome little series to watch. The contestants were also very varied and (I think) ultimately we knew who was going to win but it was so interesting seeing everyone's take on everything. Thank you!
Don't give two fucks about what that blonde shit says. If you want to try and solo a bass like a guitar, then get a guitar. A solid grove with a little flare, will go much further. Then a bassist trying to play like a guitarist. But I understand a lot of bassist get that inferiority complex. Thus and therefore they try to play like a guitarist.
Both Frankie and Alex are great shredders, the duel was extraordinary, I had massive fun and pleasure watching them play one after another, congrats Frankie!
Andy DBvet I think it’s a lot better because the hosts are really big metal heads. The guys in that metal show aren’t very into extreme metal aside from Don.
Alex's tone is straight garbage and he's really sloppy as well. If he played with Frankie's tone I guarantee you'd hear just how much he's masking with his 10 reverbs and 8 delays.
I had a similar feeling. Maybe not "straight garbage" but I certainly think that the amount of and type of distortion Alex was using could certainly cover up quite a lot of mistakes. It was unclear in some of those blistering runs if each and every note was "true". Maybe in the future Banger would consider having both players in a head to head competition use the same tone, preferably a sound where each note, while still distorted, could retain it's clarity. Other than this, great series.
Perfect final episode! This was a great watch and I'm so glad I found your channel. Will definitely be plowing through your archive and catching up, as well as your two finalists! Thanks guys.
Frankie won? "shocking". No one saw that coming... lol. All that for a guitar strap and for a second I thought he was talking home that Marshall head. At least he got internet exposure and that will hopefully open opportunities for him. At least get that strap signed by Alex Skolnick! Sign his new strap, man!
this was awesome and i agree they should do a band together.. the fun and sportsmanship involved here when it counts was great to see... the music was what it was all about at this point... i dont think the competition even mattered at that time... the looks of respect towards each other was something to see.. i wish them both well and a jam session at the end with the judges and the finalists would be a welcome addition also. keep these coming and thanks!!!
If you want this show to be good, select better guitarists from next time BangerTV. If they are atleast not up to the level of Frankie then it would be a dead show since everyone would know who is the winner from the very beginning.

BANGERTV - All Metal How about they form a band together? You can tell Alex is a great rhythm guitarist and Frankie can play lead.
Cant wait for the next episode..the bald guy deserved the champ strap
Thank you!
I would like to be a contestant but have no idea how to become one. Would appreciate some info in that regard.
Season 2!!
Moonwhisper8 MW8 yes season 2 please metal gods demand it so
Yes they do! 2 please
Somebody at Jackson should send that guy a free guitar to go with his strap. He repped the brand better than anybody else has recently.
We agree!
fucking agree ! |v|
What jackson model is he using?
Couldnt have said it better mate! Makes me wanna go buy a Jackson
Pro Series DK2 Okoume
I think these BANGERTV talent shows would continue.
And mainstream talent shows would die.
Filip Vašíček
Everything would emerge into metal glory!
fuckyeah
Yes!
🤘😈
Fuck ya !!
That man has a Big polished bag of tricks!!
great tone too bro
Season 2 plsss
Those solos..... We are all winners!!!!!! Thanx Sam and panel judges.....This was one hell of a Showdown...... Thanx Again!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frankie killed it. You can see the fun and confidence in his eyes while looking at Alex. Bands are gonna be calling his ass. I want to see those damn 17 minutes.
Anthony Flanagan I think this series will provide great exposure for all of the contestants. I hope they all find a spot with a rad band!
Frankie is Vesperia's guitarst. Lol. He is a class apart indeed.
Anthony Flanagan i
Anthony Flanagan you are smoking crack! What bands do you think are watching this shit? No one with money gives a fuck. lol the 80's are gone and you can't sell shred guitar anymore. I hate that more than anyone but it's true! The music industry is done

The paper shredder is the true ultimate shredder
Dream Shredder
That shredder gets all the chicks
I knew Frankie would win from the start.. Alex was good.. but i think he had too much distortion...
Yeah. Too much FX and thin tone.
Mid scooped and too much chorus.. What a pity
Alex's tone was caked with effects
i thing he's just a dirty picking ... he must work harder
No he scooped his mids and the end result is a tone which does not cut through the mix , lead guitar should be a bright treble filled sound
Everyone here is so talented, yet so fucking humble!!!! This is why I love metal!
We are a fucking family! Bring it in brothers!
PS I loved this show! What a brilliant idea! Not just as a show, but to get people playing!
Amazing finale. Holy shit.
pretty wholesome how they were looking at each other and smiling and being pumped
noice cattle decap picture
that was a really cool show. that finale man, what a hoot.
more of this please!
not just shredding!
Doomers of Metal would be cool.
Stephen Becker frankly was ok
im so glad Alex mentioned Racer X, these 2 killed it
Couldnt agree more Bro! they should have Paul Gilbert as a guest judge
Oscar Imam Paul Gilbert would be killer, im sure they will have a different guess judge for next show.
This is easily the best metal channel after Headbangers Ball (back in the day). Keep the good work, folks.
Thanks alot man!
Keep bringing the underground (and international) bands and take my money...yeahhh
bravo dudes fun show
Give us those 17 minutes, Banger!!
agree! I would really like to see that.
Same
yes
Fuck yes.
Here here!
Facemelting solos by these 2 amazing musicians!! I would love for these 2 guys to work together.
They should just start a band together. Both rad shredders.
Jesse Reyna I'd listen to that band! They have great chemistry. Alex has to work on his sound though...
Jesse Reyna they totally should and get Sam Dunn as their bass player 😁awesome job guys!!🎸🤘🏼🤘🏼
palm tr33 Agreed!
That was my thought exactly
I was thinking the same thing they play pretty well together.

this was an amazing series. such humble people with incredible talent.
Blayne Smith fits into this genre of comedy. The man has awesome punchlines! Keep it up, Blayne! You be a legend in the future!
I smiled throughout the entire video! It was THAT Awesome! \m/ ^^
It was euphoric...
They play together well. Im a bluegrass flatpicker, so i dont claim to know much about the shred; but both their playing left me wanting to hear more. Respect from me!
This has been an amazing series! It’s made the last few days exciting, checking every day when the next video is up.
Better than all talent shows I had seen, with all intelligent humor, musicality, creativity, fair judges and honesty, challenging parts. Well done Frankie, you deserved to win.
It be great to have a guitar company sponsor the show and give away guitar to the winner
Jim Dewd ikr “you get a strap!”
Yeah the should have given them some nice equipment. Feels so empty now 😂
Perri Damnit yeah I’m like that’s it? Lol hopefully this first season will entice some nice sponsors for the next time.
Id climb the highest of mountains for a pat on the back from daddy Blayne.

Frankie won. Nice. He deserves it man. Him and Sim were my favorites. Also, he kinda looks like Rob Caggiano.
way to fucinnspoil it
MJNation Thanks!!! I couldn't place him, he could be Rob's freaking brother!
I liked Sim cause he was one of my Quebecois brethren and he had a SICK flying V
Lol. Just needs the sock hat!
Hey MJNation I've noticed you from YouYouYou channel. What's up man. Nice to see you on another awesome channel. Man that was amazing.
I love that the two finalists were having more fun with this than actually being competitive. Can we please get a upload of the full clip of them playing??
I loved Frankie's tone. Spot on. Great job to all the contestants 👍
Congrats to both you guys,,EPIC episode of shred! TY so much BangerTV for bringing this to the masses!! More please!!!
Season 2 pls🤘
9:30 I thought the Marshall was the prize 😂😂 but it's the strap 😂😂
Looked like they were having a blast. Great episode.

wow, that was epic, we need a season 2!
What can I say!! We need this. Metal needs to live.
This is the way.
METAL RULES!!!!!!!
P.S The host was cool
Judges hit the Note every time
Kick Ass
Im looking forward to seeing this stuff again ❤
More!!!!! Episodes!!!!! Please!!!!! this is the best thing I ever seen

What these shredders and BangerTV are doing for metal is flawless. Horns up from Brazil 🤘🏻
AWESOME
The judges and the participants are like the nicest guys in metal. Especially the finalists - I think it takes great character to retain your humility when you're SO DAMN GOOD.
It was pretty clear that Frankie was going to win this. I think he also has more theory under his belt which makes him more comfortable experimenting and still follow the cord progressions.
What a great idea, Banger! I enjoyed each episode, and had a ton of fun watching Alex and Frankie shred this last time! Can't wait for more!
Too much flanger and effects on Alex tone for my preference, it was hard to hear his notes, but Frankie had crystal clear tone and had better palm muting . Congrats to all shredders this was so much fun to watch I may try to enter next season

BangerTV, you've made something really special here. Better than anything I've seen in a long time.
Wait...all the winner gets is a boring strap from Steve's for $8.99?
Pamela Thrasher nah they also get an esp and the Marshall stack
@@jacethornton4383 That wasn't clear from the show though. Getting just the belt is probably not enough, Frankie deserves a better reward.
Right.. at least a guitar
Seriously I thought that's all they got was a fuckin strap.
Great watch! Release the full edit of the duel!!!!
Proof that 24/7 distortion isn't a winner...
As soon as someone plays phrygian dominant they've got me.i love that mysterious, desert sound.its a mode made for metal.
They're both awesome guitarists but at 4:10 my jaw fell off and spent 13 seconds on the floor!!!
Such articulation and feel!
Great series.
Give both these players an award!
Frankie was still better, but Alex really did a lot better here than he did in the other competitions. His tone still sounds like ass though, and it really hurts the clarity of his solos. I think that with that type of sound you have to focus more on the musical ideas than speed, and unfortunately for Alex , Frankie also had more ideas to express.
A victory well deserved. Congratulations Frankie!
Frankie won, no surprise there.
Finale was hands down the best and as it should be. Those two playing off of each was absolutely incredible. No real loser between those two.
Im a Testament fan and watching Skolnick being such a great guy made me a fan even more. It never was a contest. Frankie C was the obvious best shredder since episode one. I also did like Sim Diamond a lot. Wanted to see him in the final shred war.
omg, wow! that was awesome, what a GREAT finale! amazing how the chemistry started to mix over time while the shredding was ongoing, really cool, thx!
This was a great finale
Thanks for representing the metal community! Not many outlets like this for metalheads. Keep up the good work. I really enjoyed watching this competition. Would love to see more things like this!
I absolutely despise reality television with a passion......but I would watch this show religiously if it was an ongoing thing. This was very cool.
Well done clearly the winner, good clean tone, putting the notes together nicely, and with fire! Congrats!

Bring us season 2! This was such an awesome little series to watch. The contestants were also very varied and (I think) ultimately we knew who was going to win but it was so interesting seeing everyone's take on everything. Thank you!
Shredders of Metal: Bass Edition
Boooooring
Yea, that would be real entertaining....
It’s called shredders of metal. You don’t shred a bass you stupid fuck.
@@pipeale5179 Billy Sheehan says otherwise
Don't give two fucks about what that blonde shit says. If you want to try and solo a bass like a guitar, then get a guitar. A solid grove with a little flare, will go much further. This show should definitely continue. It is one of the best guitar talent hunt. Great Job.
Since the first series, everyone looked so lame near Frankie c. And I think almost everyone knew he'd win
Man, I love seeing this. These guys pulled it all out and looked like they had a great time doing it. More, more, more!!!!
Season 2. get zakk wylde as judge..trust me

Killer series!! I just found this last nite and watched all of them.. Definitely picked the right guy to be champion but it was all entertaining!!
can we have Frank defend his title next season
Those two are just so fun to watch how much fun they're having! Both had sick performances!
That's right. Sounds are 180 in this battle
Frankie had really distinctive sound where as Alex was really processed and sound didnt cut.
that's what I'm thinking too, i don't hear the tappings most of the time when he's doing, frankie is the man, good clean tone and fantastic playing
Zake Wild it almost felt that winner was chosen prior when a note was played by tone alone. You have good profile name 💪🤣
Perfect final episode! This was a great watch and I'm so glad I found your channel. Will definitely be plowing through your archive and catching up, as well as your two finalists! Thanks guys.
Welcome Justin! \m/
4:15 ..that moment when Alex realize he has been defeated..
Frankie was by FAR the cleanest player the whole competition. Precision, technique, execution...all on point. Mind blowing guitar player
Thank god the best player won. That tone from the second guy man, camo on is it line 6 spider on the insane channel with max gain and no mids?
Even a Spider sounds better than that shitty tone.
Yeah. No mids. I didn't like them either when I had only been playing a year or two.
Such a great concept for a series!!! ......keep it up BANGERTV !!!
Frankie won? "shocking". No one saw that coming... lol. All that for a guitar strap and for a second I thought he was talking home that Marshall head. I found myself waiting for these videos to drop every day! This was a killer series; please do more like it! 🤘
Hope he won more than a strap. The guy deserves it.
at least get it signed by Alex Skolnick
They probably threw in a few picks and a pack of strings.
i thought he was going to get the marshall full stack instead of the douche bag strap. jokes on frankie i guess.
mchris04 Yeah, I was like, "That amp is a good prize. Wait, seriously? A guitar strap?"
Perfect tone. Flawless playing.
This is all they get is a guitar strap?
Hahahah.. Ferocious competition yet lame prize
its nice to see both guys having some fun. honor among shredders
Alex had the worst tone I've ever heard
go to 2:45.. not even is mass amount of verb /chorus could hide that crap tapping
I agree
sounded like that old zoom pedal. 505 I think
@@Earl00001 nah man he stacked 4 metal zones into a chorus
lol sounds about right
Awesome show, guys!!! Looking forward for a bigger season next time!!! Congratulations to everyone involved and the players!!!
