    I did bake these cookies and I love this recipe. A few things to note, I used regular flour and salted butter. I did not have to chill them and with my oven they took about 12 minutes to get slightly brown. They did not spread out even though they were not chilled. They turned out perfect. Thanks for the recipe.

    Hi Miss Donna I made your peanut butter cookies again today for my big brother for father's day and they came out wonderful and tasty. He doesn't know they will be a surprise for tomorrow.
    I made your cookie recipe as is but instead of rolling the dough in sugar I added an extra tablespoon or so into the batter for my brother's taste and my cookies took 13 to 14 minutes to bake and another 6 minutes on the tray after I took them out of the oven then after 5 minutes I carefully moved them to a cooling rack.
    I finally got a oven thermometer since my oven runs hot. I turned the dial between 275 and 300 and waited for 15 minutes and when I checked the oven thermometer inside it said exactly 350. So that's how I knew long ago my oven runs hot.
    And I love that you always mention ovens may vary because not all oven bake the same. Now I can feel confident about baking other desserts or things like biscuits since I have an oven thermometer now. So thank you for all your recipes you share with us.
    Have a blessed day ❤

      @@CookingWithDonna Yes Miss Donna I hope he likes them too. I got 30 cookies out of the entire batch of cookie dough. I forgot to ask once the cookies have baked and set up, can you put them in the freezer afterwards?
      I noticed that when my brother gets cakes and pies as a gift, he tends to cut the desserts in slices saran wrap them then in aluminum foil and in the freezer they go. When he wants a piece of cake or pie he takes a slice out ahead of time and let it that out. I'm just wondering, can the same be also done for cookies or other desserts like a peach cobbler?

    Hi Ms Donna I will be making your cookies for Sunday dessert after dinner for my brother's birthday i have all the ingredients and I will be using all purpose flour and I have all the ingredients
    How do you store the cookies so they don't break apart when you pick them up? I have some food storage containers that I would like to put them in to give to my relative but I'm scared the cookie will break apart. What do you suggest?

    • @CookingWithDonna

      You can definitely wrap each with saran wrap that’s what I do after they cool completely stacking two to three on top of one another or stand them up in a row I hope this helps❤️

    Watched a lots of peanut butter cookie recipes and I choose your recipe! I like soft cookies with a little bit of chew so I think this one is a winner!! I will be making the dough this afternoon so we can have cookies for dessert tonight. My hubby is gonna love you for this! We are one of those kind of people that enjoy a cookie that is slightly underbaked… Not raw or gooey but not crispy either. What kind of peanut butter do you use? All I have is Peter Pan creamy so that’s what I will be using. I also would like to know your opinion on the “Air Bake” cookie sheets. We like them because they stop the cookie bottoms from getting overdone; but I was just wondering, since you appear to be a master baker, is there a specific time for this cookie sheet vs a regular cookie sheet? Also do you need to have a cooling rack w/ the really small grids? I only have the ones w/ the bigger (.75” - 1”) grids. Afraid cookies will fall thru😬 I will check back later w/ my results.

      Hello Kristine ..Cookies for dessert are the best and I truly hope you enjoy! I use skippy but use what ever you like..for air bake I never used them I’m sorry so not sure on that. if your not sure about them falling through you can cool them on paper towels hope this helps and I hope you enjoy❤️

    I put them in after rolling them into balls and they stayed in the ball shape.

    • @CookingWithDonna
      @CookingWithDonna  Год назад +1

      Hello Jonathan I’m sorry your cookies didn’t spread, two reasons this will happen is did you maybe pack your flour cup getting more flour than needed? did you maybe chill your cookie dough longer if that happens your dough will be to cold at baking and they won’t spread...as long as your cookie dough rolls into a soft ball easily but not sticky it’s ready and I did not smash them I bake them into balls I sure hope this helps❤️
