JJ had quantity on her side, which was expected when going the distance w her. However Zhang had quality of strikes on her side, the quality can be shown by JJ’s transformation lmao. JJ looked elite, n Zhang was challenged but held superbly. I find it impressive w Zhang winning in decision against JJ, considering JJ usually wins when it comes to decision. could’ve gone either way, i’m just thoroughly impressed by both ladies. Classic fight 100%

People go to watch fights to see a fight, If I spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on this fight and no one fought. I'd be pissed at both fighters not just the challenger for not fighting aggressive/loose so he could get countered. After this fight, all that tough talk from the press conferences was just talk with no action smh

I gave the first, second and fifth round to Romero. Go back and watch, Romero landed double left hands multiple times in those rounds while Adesanya landed a few leg kicks.
You need to do more than few punches to dethrone the champion. He was standing in the first round for 2 minutes doing absolutely nothing

No on cares what you scored, 1. Check the stats round by round, hits are hits, the fact that you score leg kicks less than overhands that dont do damage whereas the leg kicks chewed his leg up is your own problem 2. Even if the stats were in favour for romero (which they werent) you cant dethrone a champ with 5 shots that did no damage

Theres a strikes cap for every PPV event. So yeah, they only had about 40 or so strikes left for guys to use in the main event.

The simple face Adesanya feared Romero so much he refused to engage with his hands and get within striking range tells you who the better fighter is. The final bell with Yoel screaming in his face you could see him petrified.

They count volume which is not bad but zhang was throwing nothing but significant strikes on an almost similar volume

Izzy called out Romero for this fight and said he will make a statement to add to his legacy. Izzy was clearly the hesitant one to strike first, despite being the supposed superior striker. Yoel literally chased Izzy at least 3 times. Izzy ran after every exchange. Romero never ran the entire fight, not once. Yoel had ring dominance. Izzy had leg kicks but honestly not much more. It takes two to tango and Yoel landed more significant punches to the face. I feel like Izzy deserved to keep the belt, Romero did not do enough. However I think Romero actually beat Izzy's gameplan but you can't take the belt like that. Izzy was too cautious of Yoel's power after the very first punch and this is the only reason I think Romero won unofficially.

Surprisingly no one brought up the fact that Joanna threw a late punch and also hit Zhang with a headbutt. Regardless of how people felt about the result, these two fouls went unmentioned.
