@@sergiofloresivan you are correct, it's the 2nd round that was closer. Many got excited by the wild swings of Reyes in Rd 2, however, upon close reviewing, we can see that most of those shots were dogged by Jones, and Jones then had Reyes shuggling backward for the ending 3 mins of that round,
At first I also thought that Reyes almost clearly won Round 2. However, I've just reviewed the fight closely, and from what I see, Rd 2 was actually the most significant round to pay attention to. (Reyes did better in Rd 3 than he did in 2) In Round 2, Reyes definitely put the "scare" on Jon Jones, making a lot of vicious swings at Jones especially against the cage. However, watch closely, and you'll see that Jon slipped mostly all of them, and Reyes began to tire 2 mins into that round (3:50 onward), where Jones then controlled the pace, having Reyes shuffling backward for the rest of that round, and also for most of the remainder of the fight. I believe because we don't expect to see Jones in such a scary position against a contender, Rd 2 appeared to look "more impressive" of Reyes than it really was. Champion dominated the championship rounds too though. And round 2 and 3 could have gone either way. I would have felt comfortable with a draw or the decision that happened. Credit to Reyes though, he did great.
I would say when the champion is turning his back and actually running away so he doesn't get punched in the face is pretty much taking it to the champion.

@@AndrewDavis5 - I would definitely have to say that I was a bit surprised with Jones. He's one of the most active (LHW) fighters, when it comes to constantly moving punching, kicking and etc. This is the reason he's been dominating for years. But this fight, there were times that he was just not doing enough. Which at times during the fight gave Reyes the motivation to be more active. Normally Jones is doing so much more to the other fighter to disrupt their game plan and slow down there striking significantly. Josh Rice 5th round was obviously the most dominate round. Reyes was a no-factor in that round. Atleast in the 1st round Jon landed some shots and showed good defense
The way Reyes handled the post fight in the octagon and at the presser is a testament to his sportsmanship and his previous athletic experience and I think he earned whole new fan base in doing that alone...
These 2 guys are the best in the business. Absolute joy to listen to and just great insight into how the UFC works with propping up fights and doing rematches. You don’t get this in boxing
Reyes actually said it himself in the post presser that it wasn't like he was getting blasted in the last two rounds. Even though he lost those rounds but he held his own and stuffed Jones' takedowns. A draw would have been a fair result.
If Reyes had come out in the 5th and at least showed some aggression, he would have won. Running away thinking he was up on the scorecards in the final round of a championship fight lost it for him.
That makes no sense, if the fight was scored right , it would be 3-1 Reyes meaning jones needs to get a stoppage or dominate throughly to get a draw. If this was a race does the guy who runs the last 20 faster by 2 secs beat the guy who ran the first 30 meters faster by 3 secs ? Cause when you do the one is still ahead by a second.
He didn’t press because he didn’t have gas anymore. He won. Idc what anyone says. Those Giles strikes were KILLER. Huge power difference. But Krause didn’t fall or quit. He just got better at avoiding the strikes, mixed dirty boxing & some muay thai with his grappling sequences. ONE solid Giles combo would’ve knocked Krause out and he avoided getting hit by any complete combo. Not happy with decision at all.

Rewatch the fight. Reyes missed almost everything he threw in the 2nd round. I could also see someone giving jon the 3rd possibly as well. But I had it 2, 4 and 5 for John. Great fight but after rewatching the fight I feel strong about 48-47 Jones.

Sergio Flores not even close. Look at it again and even look at the numbers.
(Reyes did better in Rd 3 than he did in 2)
In Round 2, Reyes definitely put the "scare" on Jon Jones, making a lot of vicious swings at Jones especially against the cage.
However in actuality, Reyes barely landed anything in that decisive Rd #2.
For the least he (Reyes) "Definitely" did not "put a beating" on Jones in Rnd #2, and I can see the argument for that round to be awarded to either side.
@@hectormorones8733 the numbers are usually unofficial, and the flurries Reyes through for the most part look like Jon evaded most. but yeah that was a round that i thought could decide the winner.

That's what Greg Jackson told him before Rd 5. Well, he didn't knock him out and he still won.

Worst. Judges. Ever.
Comic book guy?
If Reyes had come out in the 5th and at least showed some aggression, he would have won. Running away thinking he was up on the scorecards in the final round of a championship fight lost it for him.
By that time he was gassed amd Jon was piling the pressure. Thats how you distinguish a real champ!
If there is a rematch he needs to work on his cardio big time to keep the aggression throughout the championship rounds. to be fair he had never been there before.
