I feel for Yoel here because Izzy stated he was challenging Romero because he wanted to be the first person to stop him in a fight. Izzy sustained this narrative in ALLL the build up, Yoel, me and the fans were expecting a real fight and yet again we get the slow pace counter show we've come to expect from Izzy every time now. Costa took risks against Izzy but Romero was too smart so it did not end the same way.

@@samordna7808 the most important thing for Romero is gaining a corner that is honest with him and that his corner have multiple strategies in order to beat his opponents. We all know that Yoel has the skillset to beat Adesanya but his corner need to direct him when a gameplan isn't working... and Yoels team have failed him for MANY years with both their lies when hes losing (but tell him he's winning) and also not telling him that he needs to change how he's fighting when it's not going well for him. I'm a big fan of Yoel and his skillset... but i absolutely hate his corner as they have held him back for years.

At his age, his wrestling gasses him. He can't afford to be gassed by the 3rd round. If it was a 2 round fight he would Khabib on everyone, but it is hard to say he could even keep the last guys he fought down for long. The energy expenditure isn't worth it for 5 rounds.

Since Yoel didn’t press forward, Izzy didn’t see a point in attacking because he understood that it was too much of a risk to allow Yoel the chance to explode on him. He complaining Izzy ran and ran, yet he stood in the middle of the ring for over 2 minutes waiting for counters. The blame is on himself too. Izzy got caught twice by counters coming in in the first round, so he changed his strategy and fought on the outside messing up Yoel's legs with low kicks. Izzy did what he got to do, but Yoel didnt because he was missing punches. When he tried to cut Izzy from moving , Yoel got clipped a few times and his messed up leg eventually slowed him down. Conclusion: It wasn't the dog-fight the audience wanted to see, but it was a tactical fight fought by Izzy. Cudos to him and stop the hating.
