Thanks for the video! Mine fell and shattered into pieces. None of the pieces actually broke so I was determined to repair it. The hard part was figuring out how to get tension back into the spool, but your video helped me infer what the right direction the spring strip was held into the middle tab. Took me a few tries to realize the strip had to be turned and extra time for the correct tension, but it’s back to like-new now. Thanks again, fellow tinkerer!
Thanks Ultimate DIY, your video helped me and I successfully repaired my retractable key chain of the same type. Like you I could not throw away something that still can work but I was stumped when I could not find a way to open the clam shell. With the help of my son, I cracked it open the way u advised by hammering with a butter knife. Keep producing such videos, take care. Peter from Singapore!
Thank you so much! A coworker gave me her extra one bc the one issued to us always falls off when I'm conducting field work. I don't like to waste things but this doodad is awesome!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! i have this Harry Potter I.D badge i got from Japan and they no longer sell it, i was very sad it broke...BUT THEN I FOUND YOUR VIDEO AND IT IS NOW FIXED AND FUNCTIONING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE SENT FROM HEAVEN! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
I tried doing this but there is a strong adhesive so I can't open it, and I can't cut it without the badge slipping out from under, almost cutting my fingers. Any advice would be appreciated 💯
No chance. The little guys like you and me are crushed by channels with millions of subscribers. You might think I have a big channel, but it's really small actually.
