Biggest drawback for me is that the loop where the retractor clips on is way to large. So the card holder falls off the retractor way too often. Since I work as a paramedic, my card holder has fallen into many things you don’t want your cards to fall in. Fixed it with almighty duct tape, doesn’t look particularly nice though. Edit 11 days later: Small update; contacted Orbitkey customer service. They send some photos of how it should be attached just to check if that’s right. I was told it’s a know problem for some people. After sending some photos they send a new Card Holder which arrived the following day. The inner loop is larger on this particular one which presses the G-hook into the outer loop. So with this new one haven’t had this problem again. Also the retractor is much stronger on my new card holder. This replacement makes me feel like the first one somehow skipped quality control.
I had the same issue. OrbitKey sent me the non-pro holder in exchange and they are working to fix the issue. I‘ll probably get a new pro again, once this has been resolved.
Great video Sir 😊 You always display everything in the best way possible! Here is my take on company ID cards: I'm the youngest guy in my work by a huge margin so I'm like the little kid around (I'm 25, the next in line is 45 years old I think). When we first got our IDs, our secretary asked us to send her a picture of us to put on the ID. Someone asked if that would be okay if she sends an older photo of herself, the secretary said "sure". So I asked the same, and "of course!" she said. So I sent her a picture of me from the age of 3 and she printed it! Every now and then someone notices it and it still brings out some smiles around the laboratory 🤓
Jon, Really Good and Honest Review of the Orbit Key Card Holder. I have the Pro Version because the company I work for requires a badge for entry but doesn't provide a card holder that will last more than a week. Since I work in a very Large Corporation that requires a Security Clearance, unfortunately an ID Badge is required. I have learned the hard way, from many decades of working there, that there is a very well established "Snitch Culture", so the Orbit Key Badge Holder's functionality of being able to turn your badge around to hide it, does indeed save you a whole lot of hassle, because it it alot harder for a "Snitch" to identify you, especially in these days of Mandatory Mask wearing, you really can hide your identity rather easily, so for me to also be able to easily flip my badge around to hide it from prying eyes, along with the over-engineered quality is what sold me on the "Orbit Key Card Holder Pro". I agree with you wholeheartedly about the quality of this Badge and Card Holder, it is VERY well made and will easily stand up to years, or even decades of use. I just found your channel today, and it is fast becoming one of my favorite EDC and Gadget Channels. Thanks Much.
RFID protection on the back slot for the Pro Model is vital for me, since my workplace has separate access cards for the building and for some of the office equipment. They'd interfere with each other in the basic model, couldn't both be carried together in that one. I use the Pro model and it works great.
Nice review :) how did the white one color aged so far ?? I’m looking to get the white / stone colored one , but I’m worried about the color aging , usually white items tend to get yellowish ! After sometime specially after being used outdoors .. thank you again for your thorough review
@@JonGadget No need to apologize it was more something funny I noticed not a dig at you or the products you're able to get to review. The content is awesome well researched and I'll be subscribing for more. Sorry that came across wrong.
I picked this up through kickstarter and I love the quality but am not in love with the functionality. I rather have a clip to clip it into the belt loop on my pants vs having the style it has now. It feels more secure but I understand why they went this route. The quality is amazing though.

“If somebody’s trying to strangle you” omg I lost it 😂 solid review mate
thank you 😁
The breakaway is actually a real requirement for such ID lanyards when you work in mental healthcare facilities under the NHS.
Came back to watch your review on these again. Am starting a new job that requires ID and scan card so am considering getting this! Thanks Jon!

Sounds like a nice place to work Eyal 😁
Hey Jon, thanks again for another great review! Glad you enjoyed the ID Card Holder!
Thanks Dominic - good to get your feedback as always
I wouldn't risk putting my bank card in there without RFID, love the videos.
Actually the Pro version has RFID protection for the two cards on the back. Forgot to mention that! Thanks for kind comment 🙏

Great feedback. I forgot to mention the RFID benefit of Pro.
Seen this when they first made it to Kickstarter, was always interested in them

This is so confusing at the start the cream one is the Pro and the black is the standard then it flips lol. Still a great video, thanks.
Hi Mathew sorry about that - I had one of each to show what was available but all demo is based on black pro and cream standard

My house access card did not work at all with the id holder. Regardless in which slot. I’ve wasted my money on this. Wonder if I can sell this back

it's great if you need access to buildings, lifts, transport etc.
You r wearing smartwool. Amazing..
Its for me so I can flex to my basic peasent coworkers who use a cheap plastic badge holder 😂
Hi Jon can you do a review on sling bags plz
Wow, I'm glad I watched, if only to know there's no way I'm supporting a company that feels the entitlement of charging $70+ for an ID-holder.
£65! Seriously? Some people have way too much spare cash ....
Have you bought it? Its pricy but very handy. I like it but im doubting
