Love you’re videos. You guys are the real deal. I grew up on top of the hill by the Catholic Church there. Would walk down and fish the piers with my brother. Have memories of fishermen lining the pier and break walls both sides of Black River,in late fall jigging Lakers. Check out Maritime museum if you get a chance. SH was a commercial fishing port years ago. Your videos are the best, keep up the great fishing!!!! You all have it dialed in!!!!
For summer salmon/steelhead we use shrimp or alewives under a bobber set up. We have a vid “how to pier fish summer run steelhead” if u wanna check out the exact rig. Tight lines🤙
Live in the area and gotta say my friend, great videos! I know of 6 Sturgeon caught around that same general spot last year. Different time of year but the way your pole looked... Damn!
Hey dose this happen on all peirs...your just your spots...I don't see flat walls Ludington Has rocks and concrete...I started my trout slam...lake trout was my final fish..then I survived meningitis in January then back to back rear end car accidents gave me brain injuries..so lake trout got forgotten.. 6 yrs ago. Maybe some advice how and where... I don't care how big or have to cast from shore ..any ideas
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 also I gotta ask what time of year you’re jigging those heavy spoons with success like that. Can you do that all winter? And I know drums are slamming the ned rig at the moment, how long in the year is that effective for you?
SBS Outdoor Action I appreciate it! Spent some time up in northern Michigan and that place is incredible. Looking forward to some more of your content!
Nice catches man! I've never been good at being at the right spot at the right time. What's the window on jigging for Lake trout on that pier? Tight lines.
SBS Outdoor Action no I was fishing for lingcod and rock fish and hooked into a 30+ pound lingcod and he drove my line into the rocks and broke me off.
You from arkansas? Woo pig
Yes I am buddy. WOOO PIG 🐗
That was cool!! That fish that broke off definitely could have been a huge flathead!! 😍
What time of year was this, that lakers are in so close?
Is this a good area for perch in early summer?

Was just wondering if these lakers would still be around in the rivers right now? Great vid by the way!
Thanks man! And they come back around in late April and may but you gotta cast for em instead of jiggin since they aren’t spawning on the rocks
Looks like St Josephs..Is season open in Michigan for laker's?
Open all year round but better at certain times
What month is this? Fall I take it?
Great vid love your channel!!! What pier where you on?

Michigan city definitely gets lake trout. Thanks for watching!
How deep is it along there? That's some awesome action,
15-30ft depending on rocks. Thanks for watching!

Thanks man! I wish I atleast saw what I had on. Preciate ya watching 🤙
Can u jig for them all winter or only during certain times?
Might catch a couple if ya can bear the weather. Usually fall is the best time
What’s the water temp when they’re biting like this? Did you guys just get lucky or do you know something? Lol
Ain’t sure what the water temp was exactly, but we knew based off the time a year they’d be there
Great vid!!!
Andrea Toliver Thanks!
Man o Man, nice catch
Thanks!
Nice fishing video I’d like to get some Lakers like that maybe later in the fall if they’re still legal
Awesome video friend
Thank ya!
Hey bud, what time of year are you finding lakers off the pier? Wanting to get my daughter on one
You can catch em most of the year whenever the water is cold fall winter spring
@@sbsoutdooraction3055
Hell yeah, thx for the info. Lakers run cold, figured the piers to be a good winter spot. Tight lines fellas.

Keith Sage Nothin like smoked lakers. One of the most underrated fish to eat
That was a flathead for sure bud...nice lake hogs though!
Catching Giants Thanks buddy! I Reckon’d so. Felt too big to be a laker but they’ve been known to get 40+lbs around there

It’s actually my buddies custom rod. Not sure where’s its from tbh

I live in Detroit and wanted to try to catch steelhead.
Vasyl Loik these are lake trout. Steelhead are gone until the skams come in this summer
Steelhead are currently at berrien spring fish ladder, should be in trail creek and Mishawaka by next week
think that big thing you lost was a big ass carpet or something, it’s weight was pullin light if that was a fish it was dead
I lost 4 trout in a row, I feel your pain.
Definitely happens!
