Exactly as you said, the Soldier model 1961 was based on the Pioneer introduced in 1957. But the first Pioneers had a different awl (similar to the previous Soldier, with a cutout in the scale), but they changed it when the Alox Soldier arrived - I guess based on the request of the army.
@@danielramirez-el6zp Nice!! Your gonna love it! I have to tell you….I took my family to Disney World…I’m in Orlando right now….I brought the Supertinker. It has been used so much! I have two little kids (19months and a 7 year old). I can’t tell you how handy this tool is! The blade and scissors have been indispensable. I have even had occasion to use the awl and Phillips driver. And believe it or not……I even used the parcel hook for the first time for its intended purpose. If I didn’t have this SAK with me on this vacation, many tasks would have been difficult. I’m gonna make a video on it when I get back!
I would really like to get a 93mm Alox, but there does not seem to be a current model with scissors AND a nail file... maybe there's a discontinued model that I can look for... any SAK that I carry has to have (besides a blade) scissors and a nail file... I use those tools as much as the blade... I would rather have a metal file than a saw, because the metal file can also be used on finger nails... toe nails too !
There is no decent EDC SAK without scissors (in my opinion). We might move in totally different environments in our day-to-day lives but we all need scissors once in a while (but then we need it badly). So if Alox then I say Pioneer X for EDC.
Great video! Super Tinker is on my list! Glad to see your channel is growing!
