Damn... I was maybe thinking of getting a DCT but i've heard it occasionally has different issues. I can always get a manual, but I like the idea of not having to use a clutch in traffic. I would of also loved if the positioning of the foot pegs were a bit more foward.
Ouch... that doesn't sound like any fun. I don't have any experience with the CTX700 or NC700X/750X DCT's. Have you tried the DCT reset procedure to see if that clears the behavior after re-learning? You can search Google for "honda ctx700 dct reset" to find detailed information. This video covers the procedure on a NC700X DCT: ruclips.net/video/FTF9h5Eb2cQ/видео.html Good luck with it, and let us know how it turns out. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
mine sometimes does it if I switch off then soon after back on and try to manoeuvre slowly the revs seem to stay high and mainly when hot and the fan is still on when restarting, I wait a bit longer now if I can. I have checked my Datatool tracking system and according to them I never went over 93 mph so the spedo on the bike is well out above 70 mph which I have checked it at previously as twice it has shown 111mph.
Reset the computer.(I will find is in my notes and upload it in a separate comment) This might fix your problem with your DCT. I had an issue with my DCT and it fixed mine.
Ciao. Bel video. Si dice che la moto sia instabile oltre i 130 km/h. Tu hai notato il problema ? Dicono si risolvi con Metzeler Cruisetec e stringendo la sospensione posteriore. Cosa dici ?
Saluti dagli Stati Uniti!
Saluti! 😉👍 --QM
Great question! They share a lot of engine components, but the ECU's and engine tune are different. The AT has 6 ride modes, where the Rebel only has 3 (+1 custom). I haven't heard back from the shop since earlier today. They advised that Honda has been advised about the issue and should be contacting them soon. The shop tried resetting the DCT maps, but now the bike won't even go into gear! 😲 --QM
I finally figured out how to fix the issue, i took the shift motor off and took it apart cleaned it thoroughly with contact cleaner and a toothbrush assembled and installed it back on and now i have 10k miles with no issues no stuck in 2nd gear anymore !!!!
Howdy, John! That's a good question. Overall, I'm still very impressed with the DCT's technology and ease of use. It's fantastic for laid-back cruising, touring, and commuting because you never need to think twice about gear selection, rowing through gears on inclines, stalling the engine at stoplights, or feathering the clutch in traffic at low speeds. The DCT does have its quirks in low-speed maneuvers and when slowing down to make turns. I've adjusted my riding habits to compensate for those circumstances so it's second nature for me now. There are occasions when I would definitely prefer to have a manual clutch to modulate the engagement for better performance or smoother transitions... but those occasions are the exception rather than the rule. My Rebel DCT's current issues seem to be related to a throttle position sensor or maybe a throttle plate sticking open slightly. The shop wasn't able to "reproduce" my issue and didn't notice the issue. I got the bike back on Friday (two days ago), and I made a couple of vlogs discussing the issues. I'll try to edit and post that today or tomorrow to get caught up. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Yes, I am running the Coffman's Shorty (traditional) exhaust on my Rebel. You can see that install and review video here if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/4Y48--_1rms/видео.html . These are slip-on exhausts that don't radically change the airflow characteristics (e.g., run too lean), so that's not likely the cause for my Rebel's misbehavior. The problem only seems to happen at high ambient temperatures, so I suspect a faulty temperature sensor or throttle position sensor. I'll monitor the issue and report back to the community if I have more news. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I'm not aware of any similar issues on Honda's other DCT motorcycles. The idle hang hasn't resurfaced since last summer, so I think it's a heat related issue. I'll be watching for it again this summer, and I'll be sure to let everyone know if it happens again. The other oddity with the Rebel 1100 is related to the cruise control misbehaving. The rear brake switch can flutter rapidly, so the computer disables the cruise control COMPLETELY until the bike is restarted (full power off and on). The fix was to adjust the rear brake switch to engage "deeper" in the pedal travel. I haven't had any more problems with it since the adjustment. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
I have a Ford escape with a manual transmission that after it has warmed up when I come to a stop the idle will come up to around 2500 rpm then will drop back to idle after 5-10 seconds. No one has been able to figure it out.
I've got a 23" 1100 DCT, so far with the heat this summer I haven't noticed anything really odd yet. This is my 1st motorcycle, and I have to say it's been a fast bike to learn to ride, my only issue so far is with the DCT oil cap bolts, which are super weak, I ended up snapping 1 of the bolts, and then replaced them with titanium M6x18's. Just a heads up to anyone else with the DCT, when you do your own oil changes *They're Super easy* is that you tighten the bolts to 5-6 NM, Not Foot Pounds, they will snap if you try to reach the 9ft of torque the manual asks lol.
Agreed! I always wince when tightening case screws and spark plugs the same way. I'm slowly tightening with the torque wrench... just waiting for that sickening spin-through. D'OH! 🤣👍 --QM
The way you do a "give away" is sell some limited edition QuasiMotard stickers, and include a free entry into the give away with the stickers. The small pack of stickers costing $20 + shipping 😉. It is how Mr regular gives away cars on the regular car reviews channel. They charge $50 + shipping for a mug that happens to have a free entry for their giveaway car attached. They also sell a digital download of a picture the car, again for $50 with one entry. If you are gonna do this I would suggest not saying the word raffle on the channel again until after it is done. Regular car reviews is a big channel at this point so taking a good look at how they do it without getting in trouble is probably a good bet.

DCT should never have been used for motorcycles, it is an unfixable very low speed failure in cars and is no longer used for that reason and because conventional autos have been developed to be superior. In my country Honda DCT's are not selling.

I actually did have a dirty spot on my iPad screen in that spot you circled red 😂😂😂 What a coincidence !!!😂😂😂
I haven't even brought mine in for the radiator cap recall. So for no issues though
Only a few had the faulty caps not seating correctly but Honda decided to change them all out so you may have a good cap anyway.

I think there is a DCT software reset video on youtube. Not sure if there is one for the rebel.
Have yet to see the yellow 🟡 CB 300 .. agree , ...it would pop in that color..!!
