For anyone wondering about suspension. Burly Brand has stiletto shocks for the Rebel. They increase the height by about 2-3 inches and are 10 times more comfortable. As for the passenger seat and pegs, they’re optional in some countries and come standard in others. But a seat and pegs is available. There are also many windscreens now available and seats as well

For some reason, the Japanese manufactures tend to be very slow with change. There’s alot of room for improvement in the different style markets (cruisers and Adventure Bikes for example) but it seems like they only change something every like 7-10 years.
The Honda Shadow phantom is a good looking cruiser but gah damn is it underpowered for its weight. And it’s basically technology-less. For almost $9K, I think you’d basically only buy it for looks.

Honda can sometimes disappoint. They play it too safe these days whether it's model offerings or power output. They always seem to design a really awesome engine and then dial the power back to the point that it feels like it's nerfed. At Honda's peak, they were putting out some really cool and exciting bikes. They're like a really really good vanilla ice cream. Awesome but it's still vanilla.

Honestly, I believe that "cruiser" is a mindset more than a type of motorcycle. The thing is that traditional "cruiser" motorcycles kinda force you to adapt that mindset whether you want to or not, and I can imagine that the Rebel 1100 isn't like that because you aren't forced into the cruising riding style if you don't want to. I think the Rebel 1100 is for people who know what it feels like to ride spirited/fast, but also want a bike that is comfortable cruising along even at a lower pace than what the speed limit suggests. It's a bike for people who want that duality - NOT for people who wonder if they could be won over by the traditional cruiser riding style in favor of what they are coming from.

What you think about a little bit of off-road on this motorcycle? not in the kind of big stones and all that stuff, no, I mean with off-road something like a dirt road, probably a few stones but nothing critical

    • @Real_MisterSir
      @Real_MisterSir 2 года назад +1

@@MirdenLayra It's not really built for it out of the gate, so what I'd be most cautious about is the suspension and how prolonged bumpiness will travel to your spine (or rattle something loose (tho I wouldn't expect it).
Positives is that it has a long wheelbase and will be easier to manage if the rear tyre starts slipping out. If you have a pair of knobby tires on it, I'm sure it would fare decent for a street bike. Only real concern is that suspension setup and the fact that you can't really stand on the footpegs while riding if a patch gets particularly rough.
TLDR; smooth gravel/dirt roads is probably just fine with a pair of grippy tires :)
      Cheers,

The reason of my question was because I been searchin for so many years (3-4) a motorcycle that could have all the purposes... A motorcycle that you could go on a far away travel, that could be perfect on the city, and that could be good (not like a dirt bike or something, nothing critical) on off-road ways...
The one that I think it's more near to that objective for me, probably is the super tenere of yamaha, but for city? idk... I'm not sure... A Harley Davidson? Idk...

You can get the headlight faring for these that look very similar to the Harley styling, if that's your thing. Me personally i love the "murdered out" in all black looks. But, yes i could see a few chromed out pieces making it look even better, just a few pieces though. I test rode it and OMG it's a dream ride if you ask me. I really think Honda did a great job with the Rebel 1100. I'm more into the 60's and 70's style standard style bikes like the Honda CB's but would like a twin in about this size range. The only thing I see from the Japanese brands is the Kawasaki W800 and all the others are more naked sport bikes dressed like a retro and/or have 3 or 4 cylinders. I would love to see Honda build a standard like that around this engine, blacked out would be fine, like the CB1100 of a few years back.

Not sure how well the handling is with a passenger. Overall, this is a fairly small bike (not in cc's but in frame and suspension) so if you love your passenger and expect them to ride with you a lot, I would do them a favor and consider a different bike to be completely honest. Currently, I'm the proud owner of a BMW F750 GS, but my height has led me to contemplate the possibility of transitioning to a Rebel 1100. I must say, I'm genuinely enamored with the advanced electronics and the unparalleled comfort that my BMW offers.
I'm well aware that these two bikes cater to entirely different riding experiences, and I can't help but wonder if the switch might feel like a substantial downgrade. Most of my riding consists of daily commutes and the occasional 1-2 hour rides, but I do have a penchant for embarking on 2-3 day trips. Can the Rebel 1100 accommodate such adventures?

Sir, this bike is awesome.... and the things you mentioned are all parts that can be changed to suit any rider's specific needs!! I have a 2024 1100T model in manual and being 6 foot tall makes it a bit cramped but if I want to....I can easily mod it and change it to have forward controls, different handlebars and seat.

It looks great what are you talking about? 😕
A lot of what you said go's for your opinion and I understand! I also like the fact you stated "to me"; but when saying a lot of guys might not like it? I represent myself here and "I do like it" in fact a little more than Hurley.
I can see potential in the rebel including future kit and overhaul.
Good price, fast enough and simple good looks. It's a good starting bike or just a fun thing near your car without causing you feeling your wallet is empty. 🙂👍

Ummm, yea .... It's a "Naked Cruiser", like the Yamaha Bolt, Virago 250 and 650 and Stryker, Kawasaki Vulcan S, Vulcan 900, The HD Iron 883 and 1200, and the Suzuki C and M series.
Myself, I like the way they challenged the Kawasaki's "Rugged Look of the 650 S" and incorporated it into the design of the Rebel. That said,.... Make it a belt drive, Reduce the size of the cantaloupe cannon muffler, ( or split it to both sides of the bike....)....and reverse the tread's Sipes direction on the front tire so that it can be ridden on the road at speed without hydroplaning. and Yup .... fix the seat issue. Then Honda will have, as you put it, "Knocked the leather off the ball".
    Stay safe.

So... what you think about honda motorcycles? especially on this one, is trusthworthy? Talking about the the durability and reliability of the engine I mean...
What you think about that? is more trusthworthy a Harley Davidson? (all talking about the engine and and the fact that it doesn't fuck fast)
Great video, thanks for sharing the information with us, keep up the good work and ride safe!

My buddy asked me to help him buy a new bike . We looked at the Honda 1100 rebel. Not a bad bike but for only 1500$ more He bought a 1200cc Triumph Speed twin . Which had 100hp 85?lbs torque and just a much better bike all around not to mention modern Triumphs are bullet proof, =VERY dependable and its a GREAT looking bike . I am 57 and own a BMW S1000RR = Grandpas Sportbike/sport tourer lol.

for your comparison between Diavel and Rebel 1100, since you are not on a open highway trying to reach the top speed, the horse power doesn't matter. If you are comparing torque to weight ratio, rabel win hand down. 72 pound/feet at 4750 on a bike less than 500 pound , the acceleration will be pretty impressive. i have a monster 821, it only produce 63lb/ft at 7750,

I dont see how you tall guys ride the newer rebels. Im only 5'8 and it feels like my knees are in my chin. Great bikes, i just dont like the seating position. Could use some forwards.

I shared some of these annoyances until I learned how to use the DCT. I find I now ride using mostly the sport mode and shifting manually; or using the drive mode and using the downshifting switch if needed. Know that it's a learning transmission, so the best thing you can do is shift manually so it can learn your shifting characteristics, so it does take time with a brand new bike. I'd like to know what windshield that is. Nice!

You know it would be great if you guys could do a vid of all of the bike winners. The bike they won and where they're from and how the bike made it from point A to point B. I think that would make for some appealing content.

Everyrhing you said is true. Back in Japan, they probably thought: let's put the africa engine, with different engine mapping, in a cruiser chassis. It is crazy for 87hp
