How to setup a bioactive terrarium for Cuban Knight Anole -Updates on the Dude's rescues

- In this video the Dude sets up an Exo Terra 36 x 18 x 36 bioactive terrarium. Live Trees and other larger plants will be established in this vivarium. The Dude discusses maintenance and requirements of using larger plants in terraria as well as briefly discussing the Cuban Knight Anole husbandry and care. Purchased as CB babies that were pretty much on the brink of death a few months ago. With a steady deworming, hydrating and varied diets these guys are thriving!

Where did you pic up that Exo Terra, I spent the last hour looking for one and every place that carriers their products is out of stock or do not carry it. Looking to upgrade my Paludarium to this size.

We had a shipment of plants come into work. I live in Northern Maine. It was last week during a snow storm.. A brown Anole was found. I brought the critter home and am trying to make him/her happy. Very small about 2" from head to vent. All set ups are for big green or others. We were able to get crickets. But would like some ideas. Any help. We have a 10 gallon tank.

Any suggestions for bonsai trees in an aquarium?
Cameron Drummond ficus trees , you can do anything to them and they will live. You can make them look like a mature trees just get one at a garden center as a house plant.
Your starter pack on the website comes with terrafauna. Why did you go with the firma in this vid? Would it be a bad idea to stack fauna in the same way you did the firma(8-10 inches without drainage)?
Hi Paul. This build utilized the Firm due to the tree and needing to accommodate it's root bal. The kit come with Fauna due to their humidity requirements. I don't recommend using the Fauna this way as it functions better with a drainage layer to prevent waterlogged substrate. Can you please help? Long story short. Found an anole. Need to know what kind it is. It's brown with little chevron markings down the back all down the tail too. It's eyes look like a crocodile's in that the pupils go up & down oh and it has little spikeys going down its tail. I'd include a picture, but don't know how. I just want to make a reasonable habitat for it until I can take it back to the correct state & let it go

Hi. I average twice a week with small waters and daily misting, but it does depend on your geographical location and household environment.

Can the isopods get out of control and just keep on breeding?
They can breed excessively yes, to prevent that from happening you can simply pull out as needed. Sometimes, they will tend to 'curb' themselves in the vivarium depending on the volume of nutrients available.
Could u keep those guys in a screen cage??
You could, but it would be really hard to keep their needed humidity value.

Curious though! Do you have to water the plants? Serious question too..
That depends on the plants individual needs, you may need to spray them a bit more or less than you would the enclosure, but monitoring the humidity is the best way to do this. hope this helps!

Hi Juan. I get them from my distributor directly. I tend to use Exo Terra and Tetra Fauna enclosures. Both of which can be found at local pet stores and online.
