Hey man, I am so freaking surprised now. I have been trying to remove the lens filter for over an year now. And just now the rubber band method worked for me. Thanks for the tip.
interesting. I was wondering if this was a common problem. My CPL never turns onto my lens tight enough because of the polarizing ring, so I never know which ring I am turning until I take it off. Rubber glove seems much cheaper than a filter wrench thing I seen in another video. Haven't had it get to this problem yet, I'm at the beginner problem with dust on my mirror.
I had a seriously stuck filter. Nothing worked including the strategies presented here. What finally worked was that I removed the filter glass using a lens spanner wrench. This eased the pressure on the filter threads a bit. Then, because the glass was removed, I could get an inside angle on the filter with a mouse pad. I was able to twist it off. After inspection of the filter, I came to the conclusion that it was not very well made. I threw it away. It wasn't perfectly round and made out of flimsy material.
dropped my lens and the filter was cracked and dented. Tried everything for about an hr then i used the rubber glove and it came off so easily. I was shook
haha, thanks! Quite a few ways to do it, but the rubber glove works wonders! If it's bad, don't take any tools to it, get it to a pro, trust me, I've been impatient twice 😂
I've had so many bad experiences in the past, screwed up a few really expensive lenses through frustration and impatience, I thought this would be helpful to some people! Thanks Piotr!
Hi, I enjoyed your review on the 7artisans 35mm f1.4 for Sony FF, you said you wanted to do a video on how to use the focus peaking on Sony 7 to get tack sharp images, I am subscribing with your bell switched on. So please do it thks.
Thank You! I really appreciate that, and you just reminded me that I need to do that focus film!! Thank You for that. I don't use focus peaking, it drives me loopy and I find it to be inaccurate most of the time. I'll drop a film on this tutorial soon 🔥
Forgot the best option! Screw another filter on the stuck filter and unscrew both at once works every time then upgrade to a matte box Hope this helps someone before they panic or miss their shoot 😉
This is the method pros use. On film sets you don't have screw on filters, same goes with landscape fanatics, they use systems like Cokin, so really, we, the RUclipsrs who need variable nd filters and the jazz, well, we're the pros 😂
Rubber cleaning glove now added to camera bag inventory. Awesome tip, worked flawlessly!
It's such a great tool to have! It also takes next to zero space in the camera bag! I'm glad it came in handy!
thanks the rubber worked to perfection you're a straight up GENIUS
I'm glad I could help!

TAP METHOD worked! THANKS ... for UV filter stuck on Leica Summicron 90
Awesome, glad one method helped!! It's so frustrating and pretty scary. All the best!
Thank you! Getting a new VND & CPL tomorrow and couldn't get my cheap UV filter off. Flicking/tapping around the edge did the trick!!
No way! I couldn't tap mine off, only the rubber gloves worked. Have fun!
@@PhillipSkraba haha yeah, I was surprised after you said tapping didn't work for you.
Duuude... the rubber gloves technique definitely worked. Thanks so much!

I have an ND variable filter stuck, and it’s so frustrating because the variable part moves when I try to take off the filter
Rubber glove, grip that sucker like crazy across the whole filter and do your best.
Forgot the best option!

Yeah, did that once, ended up with two stuck filters 😂

@@dunnyify It's the gloves, they made me.
@@PhillipSkraba haha heck yeah
I tried the glove, i tried the rubber band and i dont live near any camera shops 😭😭😭
Oh gosh, I hope you managed to get it off. The rubber glove usually works 99% of the time for me.
Lol this me after I shoot outside, every time🤣
Trust me, been there, done that. Now I'm so careful to screw them on so lightly 🔥
I thought I had a real problem, just tried it with a leather glove and it came straight off.
It's pretty stressful when it happens, gloves do a great job!
Nothing is working with me
No way!! Not even the rubber glove???
I wonder what method the PRO is using.

I just broke the fucking filter lens! With a freaking wrench
It worked
Awesome! The rubber glove is a winner each time, hide that wrench away!
cleaning rubber gloves ... do the trick all the time
Every single time!
