ive had this lens for a few years now and the previous owner said they've tried every single way to remove the filter so i never really bothered to try. fast forward to 2 minutes ago i tried the mousepad technique from here and it worked. effortless! finally. can't wait to try it out and see if there's less haze with the filter off.
That's awesome! Glad you were able to get it off!
Genius!! It took both the rubber band and the double filter to be able to remove my stuck filter, but IT WORKED!! Thank you!
Wohoo! Glad you were able to get it off!
Thank you so much!! I was struggling to remove a filter stuck on my lens. I tried by many times and many ways to remove it but nothing worked. Almost send it to a professional that would have cost me money when I saw your video in a last attempt and the rubber band solved my problem. Put it on my bag from now! Thanks again 🙏🙏
Glad it helped!
I did the same. It’s now gear, lol
The mouse pad technique is a life saver haha thanks!
Happy to help! Glad it worked.
Great video! Another method is to use any kind of an electric cable - they are usually rubberised and work in the same way as the plastic band
Any way that'll give you some grip. Just as long as it's unplugged of course ;)
A combined method with rubber band and second filter on top worked as a miracle! Thanks a lot
No problem, glad we could help!
Spent two days trying to get my filter off a step up ring, the stacked filter worked best, thanks!
Great! Glad you were able to get it off. Thanks for watching!
Rubber band works perfectly. You are life saver. As prevention, i do not fix it tightly anymore. Thanks a lot!
Glad we could help. Thanks for watching!
Kudos to Digital Goja! My UV filter seemed permanently affixed. The latex glove (plenty of those around with COVID) worked like a charm. Thank you!
Awesome! Glad you were able to get it off!
not even finish the video and yet got already the idea how to remove it. excellent!
Great to hear!
The mousepad did the trick, and I did not even had to put a lot of efforth on it. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the tips.
It will save time and prevent issues in the future.
No problem Alexandre! Thanks for watching.
Wow, rubber band option saved me big time... thanks for a very useful video!!
Glad you were able to get it off Juan!
The 4 trick (additional filter) worked for me to get off a stuck CP filter. Thanks!
Excellent!
Was scared of stacking up at first but it worked !
Thanks
Glad it helped!
The rubber gloves method worked wonders on my adapter/filter mess, thanks a lot!
Great to hear!
You saved me by showing in 2:26 that there are two different parts in a polarizing filter. I was able to grap the portion, that is attached directly to the lens, with my fingernails. I was then able to turn it counterclockwise which released my K&F Concept filter from my Sony Alpha 6400. 🥵 Thanks for your rescue tips! 👍
Glad we were able to help Benny!
Thanks for the instruction video! The mouse pad did the trick. Had an ND filter and a polarizer filter stuck together. Is there any good method from keeping from getting stuck together? I was very conscious to not over tighten them, but I guess they got tighter as I rotated the CP filter.
Thanks for watching Dennis. Glad we could help! Main way to avoid getting them stuck like you said is to not over tighten them. Keep a loose grip when rotating the filter. Over time they do tend to tighten from continuous use, so removing the filter between uses could prevent jamming in the future.
Thank you so much, I had 2 ring adapters stuck and I couldn't separate them. The kitchen glove did the trick. Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu :)))))
Awesome! Glad you were able to get them off :)
Thank you Digital Goja.
Thanks for watching Jim!
I just used 2 Rubberband (thin) while watching this video to remove lens filter on my P900. Thanks a Ton...I surely saved considerable good money by not going to service shop.
Glad to hear it worked! Thanks for watching!
The Rubbermaid worked for me
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Thanks. I had a dent on one. But I tried using another filter, and it worked.
Awesome! Glad you were able to get it off :)
Thank you for the instruction; your rubber band trick worked. God bless
Glad it helped!
worked! thank you :D
Glad it helped!
Thank You!! I tried everything else first, but what did the trick was removing the inner ring that holds the glass filter in place. I had to still use the rubber band to remove the remaining metal ring. It was really stuck, but came out. The filter is history, but the lens is intact. YAY!
Glad you were able to get it off!
Thank you I used Rubber around polarising filter works perfectly.
Awesome! Glad we could help :)
Mouse pad FTW!! Thank you guys.
Awesome! Glad you were able to get it off :)
Excellent thanks I used a thin rubber band in combo with a 'jamjar' lid wrench, I did put a tiny amount of Wahl oil on first which did the job fine. Video much appreciated :0))
Great thinking, glad you were able to get it off. Thanks for watching!
I modified the last technique to remove the glass from the filter ring. The UV filter I had was a Tiffen and it did not have notches but tiny round indentations which I was able to enlarge with an ice pick and then I could remove the ring that held the glass in place. The filter ring was screwed in improperly and so it is still imbedded in the lens but at least I now have a lens surface I can clean.
Very good knowlage for open stuck fillter this is the best way to open jam filter without any dammage 👍keep us guide 🙏
Thanks for watching Amit!
Thank you very much. I had a tiffen mist filter stuck on my panny 20 60 and could not for the life of me get it off. After watching I took the camera kit cleaning cloth and tried it and viola! I live in the middle of nowhere and the closest repair store is 230 km from me and posting things take forever. Thank you I now have my lens back
Glad it helped!
great tip worked for me thnak you!!
You're welcome!
Using mousepad works like magic. Thanks alot!
Glad it helped!
Thank You so very much.

The rubber band worked! Thank you Sir.
Excellent!
The kitchen gloves did it, thank you!
Excellent!
the glove did it for me. (Separating my protective filter from my polarizing filter). Thanks!
Good stuff!
rubber band worked! thanks
🚂 Thanks • Good stuff 😎
Thanks for watching trainroomgary! Hope the tips come in handy if one of your filters ever get stuck.
Rubber gloves worked for me... Thank you for sharing your experience....
Glad you were able to get the filter off Prasenjit and thanks for watching!
Thank you, gloves worked for me
Glad it helped!
Despite taking care to put the filter on correctly, I managed to cross thread it and it was jammed on good. On my new camera! I didn't have a filter wrench, but I tried the latex gloves and a silicone coaster (in lieu of a mouse pad). I tried the tiny screwdriver and it appears my filter doesn't have a removable retaining ring. All I managed to do was crack the glass. I ended up having to use a flat headed screw driver to force the filter off. I saved the lens, though. I ordered a new filter (fortunately, the least expensive camera accessory) and a set of filter wrenches. I'll be even more careful with filters and other accessories in the future.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that, but good thing you were able to save the lens.
Thank you
You're welcome
tnx helpful video
Happy to help
rubberband did it. thank you!
No problem! Glad were able to get it off!
godbless, glove + rubberband saved the day
thanks
the glove worked! thank you! used a garden glove lol
Great! Glad you were able to get it off :)
Thx. Works in mouse pad :)
Awesome, glad it worked. Thanks for watching!
The biggest problem I have is breaking filters due to lens hood fitting. The lens hood fit the lens fine, but not when a filter is fitted. The lugs are then too long and touch the filter glass. Which means it only needs a small knock and you've broken you filter. It gets jammed, and I have had the broken filter glass scratch my lens. Poor design. Watch out for this guys. I'm looking for a push on cap now. 🤔 Or I'm going to modify my Canon cap 😳
damn thanks dude i spend half a day trying to get step up ring out from my filter but i got in 5 second with that mousepad trick
Glad you were able to get it off!
Thank u sir for u i could able to remove my nd filter from my kit lens.. Thank u so much sir

@@DigitalGojaUSA Aha! Thanks guys.
Good
Thanks
Great Ideas !! But what about a CPL stuck to a UV that are Off the cam ? 😢
The trick is to try and get the best grip possible without damaging the filters. Try using 2 rubber gloves, or a glove and a mousepad, or two mousepads. Whatever allows you to get the best grip on both. Hope you're able to get them unstuck, good luck!
using the mousepad really did solve the problem
That's great! Glad you were able to get it off.
Had to try really hard twisting it counterclockwise but Rubber gloves worked!
Excellent!
The mouse pad worked perfectly
Glad it worked!
I was able to get my lens filter off witha combination of setting the lens filter down on a ice pack wrapped in plastic wrap and the bottom of a mouse pad. hope this helps someone!
Whatever works! Just as long as you don't damage the lens. Glad you were able to get it off :)
IF YOU ARE REALLY STUCK PLEASE READ. I had the MOTHER of all stuck on filters. I was so close to smashing it. I watched so many videos on how to remove. In the end, I got a cleaning glove, placed it on the floor on top of a rug, placed the lens face down on it and push down HARD and twisted. The extra weight I was able to get from this had it off in seconds. My hands hurt so much from the other methods.
Thanks for sharing!
I wish they would make CPLs with a hard stop. Especially those ultra slim ones. So frustrating
I had two filters stuck together, one of them expensive. Yay mouse pad!
Woohoo! Glad it worked :)
Will try. Got filter stuck on Sony camcorder 53
Good luck! Let us know what ends up working for you Trojan0304.
I have the opposite problem! Mine will screw onto my camera but it won’t stick. The smallest touch will knock the filter off the lens
That's weird. How's the thread of the filter or lens you're using? Maybe the thread is worn out.
I usually use a cutting torch to remove anything.
But what if your cutting torch gets stuck?
I used a hack saw to get a filter off a used lens I picked up. I had two filter stuck together. Put them in the freezer over night. Next morning they easily came apart.
Interesting way to get a filter off. Using a hack saw can help remove a filter, but can it also do some damage to the filter and possibly the lens if you're not careful. Using a hack saw should only be used as a last resort. We recommend trying one of our methods or calling a professional first. Glad you were able to get it off though! Putting the filter in a freezer is an interesting method.
@@DigitalGojaUSA It was a second hand lens that came in a bundle of lens. I wouldn't have done it with a money lens.
Mouse pad worked like a charm.
Great!
the mouse pad worked after i used a hair dryer to heat it up!
My brother over tighten it when he tried to open it hr broke thr lens now the filter cant even come it BECAUSE he was trying to remove the filter without knowing he was actually tightening it more
Oh no! Sorry to hear that.
Video starts on 2:00
Is that younger Adam Sandler's brother?
As a preventive measure, I have had success with swabbing a very tiny amount of WD40 or petroleum jelly around the periphery of the threads. Just enough as a thin film, not to drench it. They don't jam up anymore. And yeah, brute forcing is still not recommended. That's only to remove them if jammed.
This is one reason to like the Bayonet style filters. Never have to worry about it.
I ended up just smashing my filters glass but still couldn’t get the ring off 🤬
Oh no, that sounds horrible! I hope the lens is ok.
I used two wooden sushi sticks with a rubber band.
That's a creative way to get it off!
Still Stuck XD
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Don't give up, i'm sure you'll get it off. If another technique helps you get it off we'd love to hear what it was and we might include it in a future video.
you looks like carry minati
Rubber gloves did it
Glad it worked!
