yeah i have watched alot of youtube builds and this is actually the first that i have enjoyed. You guys kept it real the others are just putting hella expensive stuffs or if they say its a budjet build they gonna put chity stuffs Thumb UP guys
i cant understand half the things linustechtips even says half the time honestly. maybe its me but even for someone like me who has i would medium computer knowledge i cant keep up with him at all as much as i try
I get asked quite often by friends and family regarding building PC gaming rigs. I had specced up something quite similar to this recently, but this is a perfect video to show them how easy it can be to build one also. Nicely done.
I swear ur outtro is so good i mean the whole video was good but just hearing the "if you feel the complete opposite and hate everything about life" gets me every time
The more I study the current generation of parts the more I come to appreciate what other people have selected for the same case. This is a pretty smart selection of parts balancing price and performance.
Literally the best pc building guide, you mentioned all the mistakes and how to correct them that I did on my last pc and also you're doing it in a small form factor pc which is cool.
I'm building my second pc today, but I consider it my first because the one I built before was an absolute mess and didn't even have a seperate graphics card XD
Your channel is really growing fast, man. It's cool because I was one of the people that watched a bit from when it wasn't big at all. Nice to see you grow, really.
Yeah when the Bios is updated, the CPU's own microcode is then updated to disable the baseclock OC. as far as i'm aware theres absolutely no undoing this, and even if you can its dangerous biz messing with something like that. haha:)
hey, just started watching your videos three days ago since i started upgrading bits and pieces of my computer ( out of necessity) and i just wanted to say you are amazing. a video like this is really pushing me towards building my own computer soon and this specifct build looks perfect for me. after only a week of looking up things on my own i pretty much understood everything you explained in the video and you left just enough out where i could learn some things on my own while building it. keep up the great work. Thanks again.
Pro tip, connect front io cables before other cables since they're the most tedious so the more open space the better. Also don't place pc on top of a speaker, which kind of looks like what happened at the end, though I could be wrong from the video you still don't want to do that.
Yep, had to unplug the 24 pin to properly secure the small leads. I placed the PC on top of the speaker for comparison's sake. Not the permanent resting place.
SS is rapidly becoming my favorite tech channel. I watch every single one as soon as I see it posted. Looks like 100k other people agree, since this channel is EXPLODING!
Very detailed assembly, good for beginners! Nice to see how everything fits in such a slim space. Btw, is it a bad idea to put your PC/Console on a subwoofer? Vibrations, magnets etc? Even without a mechanical HDD? (just curious, unless it was just for demo and install, if so then nvm)
Salazar Studio ah ok, thanks for the reassurance n quick reply. Enjoying these itx builds! I just did an $800 hackintosh for my wife but was a bigger case
i found this channel about 1 and half yr ago and i love this channel, seriously this guy needs more subs. i think some of his viewers just watch some of his videos but not subscribing but hey it's their loss. i hope there's a updated video on this build with cryorig cooler for benchmark and temperatures
You deserve so many more subscribers! Your videos are excellent and informative. It really shows how much effort you put into them! Keep em coming dude.
I feel like overclocking an i5 6400 non-k is not worth it. I *think* you would have to downgrade your bios and turbo boost will be disable. Additionally, the extra power from overclocking doesn't make much of a difference in gaming in terms of fps. Not to mention the risk that is involved, the more expensive z170 motherboard, a aftermarket cooler(although some people still buy an aftermarket even if it's a non-k), and you would also have to mess around with you dram. *What do you think Greg?* =)
I actually have a i5 6600 non-k( got it on sale) and a z170 motherboard, I was planning to overclock it too. Can you tell me if the extra processing power really makes a difference? I've been getting a mixed opinion on the fourms. Thanks!
I disagree on some picks. I would prefer an I5 6500 which in my opinion is the sweet spot for gaming (clockwise), and pick a less expensive mobo. Z170 chipset in ITX form factor is a bit overkill and pointless if you consider you won't overclock and you won't use more than two ram modules also sli/crossfire isn't possible in this form factor. If you just need the raid option you can easily go for an h170 chipset and if you want to keep things simpler you can just get an h110 and save a considerable amount of money for a better vga. Also RX 480 or 470 makes more sense to me but this may be just personal preference.
Yeah I missed the part you said that at the start, on this case I would also pick the 6400 just to save money. But if anyone wouldn't overclock the 6500 with a cheaper chipset would be a more valid choice.
sure it's compact but you would definitely not be able to put that much power into enclosure as small as x-box. I never claimed this system was not compact.
xbox one dimensions r (L×W×H) 33.3cm × 27.4cm × 7.9cm and the fractal node 202 dimensions are (L×W×H) 33cm × 37.7cm × 8.2cm. so the fractal node is 10cm bigger in width
yup..but when the cpu heat up..it will transfer the heat to all component at the mobo.. good stuff. better get some low profile cryorig or something that are less fan noise and better air flow..
Great video! Nice to see someone explain all the steps one-by-one. I knew all the basic stuff cause I built 2 PC's before (one is Mini-ITX) but small form factor rigs can be tricky to build in and watching someone else do it is a huge help. Awesome stuff!! :)
S Saini Yeah my USB 3.0 header cable is right next to my 24pin and messed up the look of the custom 24pin cables. So I'm hopeful that case manufacturers at least make them flat or something soon.
Seeing 2 people and two hands assemble a PC reminds me of a two core CPU equipped with hyperthreading :D Jesus, I am such a nerd enjoying the sight of that xDD Great video, seeing you guys having fun makes me happy ^o^
Hey! I also collect nearly the same build for myself...wasn't sure about case! Thank you so much for video! I will take this one case! But I plan to overclock the processor...can you propose more powerful cooler please? Any? I planed to buy this one > www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N4OBH92/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER But it won't fit...right?
yeah i have watched alot of youtube builds and this is actually the first that i have enjoyed. You guys kept it real the others are just putting hella expensive stuffs or if they say its a budjet build they gonna put chity stuffs Thumb UP guys
I'm really impressed with the growth of your channel. I'm sure the quality & frequency of videos is a big reason, but could you possibly make video listing what things you have done to be such a rapidly growing channel?
I have found after many a PC build and cramped fingers, that if you fit the front panel wires before even mounting the board in the chassis, it makes the build that much easier. you can also sometimes route that FP cable UNDER the motherboard for a cleaner install.
Nice looking system. I'm thinking of building something very similar for a colleague at work within the next few months when he's raised the cash for it. Your video really helped. With what to look for with the PC alone within a similar budget of £800 (after VAT, and other price hiking blaugh in the UK).
Great ! Built mine a few weeks ago with Node 202 , MSI B250I GAMING PRO AC , Intel Kaby Lake Core i5-7400 - 3.0GHz , BALLISTIX PC Sport LT - DDR4 - 8GB - 2400 MHz , Samsung 250Go SSD 2.5 850 EVO , Enermax REVOLUTION SFX - 550W - 80PLUS GOLD , GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti OC 4Go GDDR5 , Noctua NH-L9i Ventirad HTPC and Rapoo Mouse + keyboard 9060...works just fine and it's very quiet...
YOOOO!!! You said nothing about grounding yourself out before starting! Better safe than sorry! Also, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that hates messing with those cable leads.
I built a PC in July using this Fractal Design Node 202. I won't recommend anyone, expert and amateur alike, to build in this case. It's a difficult case to disassemble and is still too large and heavy to be considered portable. Better choice would have been the Fractal Design Core 500, Sharkoon QB One, or (if your graphics card is less than 280 mm/ 10.5 inches long) the Silverstone Sugo SG13BQ. I used the SG13BQ for an MSI GTX 970 (279 mm long) and just barely fit with some squeezing. Card works perfectly and I'm typing this on the PC that used to be in the Node 202. It's only 2.43 kg compared to the Node 202's 3.5 kg. It's a lot easier to fit the Sugo in a carry-on luggage bag than the Node as well, due to it's shorter dimensions.
I really enjoyed watching your hand and finger(s) tapping or patting the components. Reminded me of the Asian kid from UP when he points out the missing patch.
Your videos are very enjoyable to watch. I've been watching your videos since I found out your channel. However, I just realized that I wasn't subscribed. NOW YOU GOT ME :D
Just bought the NZXT Manta a few weeks ago and I can tell you, it's really good for a ITX Case. Well slightly bigger than normal itx but at least you don't have any compromises with that case. Would be a good thing to make a review of that and show it to the world :P
You could've saved a buck here and there, but in general it is a nice build. It's always nice to see someone making ITX builds for the living room. Also, that case looks really cool. I wouldn't a PC these days, though. GPU prices are way too inflated and Zen is just around the corner.
Great video. I've some old parts from my preview setup and I've been thinking in doing something like this. Btw, I'd say a modular power supply would've been better in order to avoid all cables resting arround the motherboard. It makes the airflow more fluent as you already know.
Nice build. Only thing I would add is that it's a good idea to turn it on and visually confirm that all of the fans are running and unobstructed before closing up the case.

Hey! Thanks for the video, I'm planning my first PC build in this case as well because I have space constraints at home and this seems perfect. I have a question about the graphics card though. Should I go the the 1060 Asus Turbo (the one you used) or the Gigabyte overclocked ITX card (this one: www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125903)? The Turbo is a reference cooler design (better for smaller builds I take it) but I am not able to ascertain what the cooler style on the Gigabyte is. Can you help? If it's not something that will blow hot air INTO my case I should be fine. If it does, I'll have to end up going for the Asus Turbo. Just how much performance will I lose if I go this route? Thanks again!
Great RUclips series and fantastic high quality content. One question- could I do video editing with this type of a PC, or would it be better to stick with an ATX format?
It's crazy how much this channel has grown. Anybody else been here since 10k subs?
Try 500 subs.
Subscribed when he had 92 :D
came here when he was 15k
i know right i think it was around 7000 for me. and that is not even long ago.
it grow's pretty fast
came here when he has 2k😂😂
I started watching you last week man i'm addicted to your videos!
same, I really like his PC comparison videos, it helped he decide on my laptop ✌
Same here Bro
yeah i have watched alot of youtube builds and this is actually the first that i have enjoyed.
You guys kept it real
the others are just putting hella expensive stuffs or if they say its a budjet build they gonna put chity stuffs
Thumb UP guys
Wow, I have never been this early. This channel is my new addiction.
I didn't know you had a second channel?
Well, now you know! :)
Would you say you've watched this channel's videos fifteen times all over again?
Hi, cs here in the comments :D
So this is what you do when you're not doing your joj.
You're what Linustechtips used to be! And it's awesome. Nicely done.
i cant understand half the things linustechtips even says half the time honestly. maybe its me but even for someone like me who has i would medium computer knowledge i cant keep up with him at all as much as i try
good thing he doesn't have that pubescent voice of linus
Hey Greg, congrats on 100K! Also nice build
I get asked quite often by friends and family regarding building PC gaming rigs. I had specced up something quite similar to this recently, but this is a perfect video to show them how easy it can be to build one also. Nicely done.
can you start putting pc part picker links in your videos Please!
Yes! Agreed!
thederpyderpman857 pcpartpicker.com/list/jz7jnn
Yifan Chen Thanks man!!! @SalazarStudio you should add this link to your description ;) ;)
Kegan Skittles today is my birthday, and they gave like 300$ but later on im saving some more..
Yifan Chen well happy birthday and thanks for the PCPartPicker link it helped me so much!
I went to pc part picker a week ago and picked 6/7 of these parts. Now I am watching this video and feel comfortable with my choices. Thank You!
I swear ur outtro is so good i mean the whole video was good but just hearing the "if you feel the complete opposite and hate everything about life" gets me every time
Hahahah
This is an excellent build. I have a question though. Do you know about any other good cases that a little bigger than this one?
i think i saw Jayztwocents do one that was a m-itx but it was still a decent sized chasis
Another HTPC case that I like is the Silverstone RVZ02, and then there's the big ass ITX cases that I feel defeat the purpose of SFF
***** Okay thank's.
The more I study the current generation of parts the more I come to appreciate what other people have selected for the same case. This is a pretty smart selection of parts balancing price and performance.
When you are watching tons of quality gaming pc builds butt you can't afford one... sad
800$ is affordable. though.... even when i'm living in developing country.....
Used parts m8, save up over a few weeks then BAM! Build a used part pc.
i have a 2000 euros gtx 1080 build..and im poor as fuck :D just save money and you're good
yeah butt my budget is like 600 or 700 euros max... but why not , will try to search more
Work hard play hard
Literally the best pc building guide, you mentioned all the mistakes and how to correct them that I did on my last pc and also you're doing it in a small form factor pc which is cool.
Building my first PC today, thanks for teaching me how to do it through your videos :)
good luck bro
Good luck and i hope you dont get any broken parts! theyre a pain to diagnose and if you have to ship them back... Good luck anyways :)
I'm building my second pc today, but I consider it my first because the one I built before was an absolute mess and didn't even have a seperate graphics card XD
Also I didn't build it just by myself, I did it with my brother and my cousin.
Gl m8 have fun!
Your channel is really growing fast, man. It's cool because I was one of the people that watched a bit from when it wasn't big at all. Nice to see you grow, really.
hey Science Studio,
do you have a way to bypass the bclk Oc blocker microcode from Windows. Because nowadays undoing a Bios update isn't sufficient
Downgrading a BIOS takes literally two minutes and harms nothing. In fact, most motherboards are running the stock, oldest BIOS available.
yeah, but now windows will give a boot error if you try to bclk
+Pranav Veerubhotla then you did something wrong :(
Yeah when the Bios is updated, the CPU's own microcode is then updated to disable the baseclock OC. as far as i'm aware theres absolutely no undoing this, and even if you can its dangerous biz messing with something like that. haha:)
You can't downgrade bios on most boards...
MSI USA brought me here :) You are finally getting the recreation that you deserve!!
You dident screw in the pcie riser card.
Oh well.
rip
hey, just started watching your videos three days ago since i started upgrading bits and pieces of my computer ( out of necessity) and i just wanted to say you are amazing. a video like this is really pushing me towards building my own computer soon and this specifct build looks perfect for me. after only a week of looking up things on my own i pretty much understood everything you explained in the video and you left just enough out where i could learn some things on my own while building it. keep up the great work. Thanks again.
Did you pay for it yourself?
Top quality video again
actually Greg was the camera man for the most part the friend was doing most of the building and the talking was a voice over
12 thousand subs in just a few days... congratulations!!
Fair enough. Btw, keep up the great content. You're moving up the ranks at a good pace.
SS is rapidly becoming my favorite tech channel. I watch every single one as soon as I see it posted. Looks like 100k other people agree, since this channel is EXPLODING!
I appreciate your irreplaceable support!
That isn't its permanent resting place.
You forgot to screw in the PCIE extender before you installed the CPU cooler -.-
Already addressed this.
I've done it several times. Either stay at 3.2GHz or overclock to 4.4GHz and lose something you'd likely never use anyway (your iGPU).
can you make a video on how to overclock a non-k cpu using this method?
I actually have a i5 6600 non-k( got it on sale) and a z170 motherboard, I was planning to overclock it too. Can you tell me if the extra processing power really makes a difference? I've been getting a mixed opinion on the fourms. Thanks!
This is actually just a good guide for anyone building a PC. All the info is useful, even for people that have only build a couple systems.
Yep, but I have other "How to Build" videos dedicated to ATX builds.
We are overclocking using BCLK method. Your first point is moot.
Yeah I missed the part you said that at the start, on this case I would also pick the 6400 just to save money. But if anyone wouldn't overclock the 6500 with a cheaper chipset would be a more valid choice.
Some people actually use the comments for discussion and not to farm likes. Try it sometime!
Your videos make me want to go to Microcenter. It is about 1 1/2 hours away because all other PC component stores nearby closed. Love the videos!
node 202 is actually quite a bit bigger than x-box one
Considering the power it has compared to the Xbox one it's still compact and more powerful
sure it's compact but you would definitely not be able to put that much power into enclosure as small as x-box. I never claimed this system was not compact.
xbox one dimensions r (L×W×H) 33.3cm × 27.4cm × 7.9cm and the fractal node 202 dimensions are (L×W×H) 33cm × 37.7cm × 8.2cm. so the fractal node is 10cm bigger in width
jynxed 10 cm is hell of a lot when you already have so little space
Erytropus little space for?
THANK YOU. Great 800$ build, best price to performance for brand new parts
I would have gone with the Silverstone raven case.
and that's the beauty of custom pcs.
I prefer the Phanteks Evolv ITX but it isn't nearly as portable and space efficient lol
i agree, this one does not have dvd drive bay
Im waiting for the RVZO1-E, the one that able to use atx psu version :)
nice man, I want that RVZ02 just because its smaller
Your videos are always well thought out and well done.
Thanks for watching, Harambe.
*looked at intel stock cooler* WHAT ARE THOSEEEEEEEEEEEE!?
LOL
Its good for these types of builds as it cools VRMs and stuff
yup..but when the cpu heat up..it will transfer the heat to all component at the mobo.. good stuff. better get some low profile cryorig or something that are less fan noise and better air flow..
I just love the BCLK OC method getting more attention, saved me a good chunk of money, I hope it helps out others.
Love the build... however, this is well over $800...
Your parts list adds up to $997.98
Prices are always changing. Was right at $800 when purchased.
Did you purchase the components from a Micro Center?
The price probably has not changed and instead you just live in australia. :(
What retailer were you checking? I got the same thing for around $750
Great video! Nice to see someone explain all the steps one-by-one. I knew all the basic stuff cause I built 2 PC's before (one is Mini-ITX) but small form factor rigs can be tricky to build in and watching someone else do it is a huge help. Awesome stuff!! :)
Why does the USB 3.0 header cable have to be so fucking thick...come on manufacturers !!
Fucking this! It is the worst cable by far.
lets see you try sticking 19 wires together any smaller
S Saini Yeah my USB 3.0 header cable is right next to my 24pin and messed up the look of the custom 24pin cables. So I'm hopeful that case manufacturers at least make them flat or something soon.
Seeing 2 people and two hands assemble a PC reminds me of a two core CPU equipped with hyperthreading :D
Jesus, I am such a nerd enjoying the sight of that xDD
Great video, seeing you guys having fun makes me happy ^o^
There's nothing wrong with a stock cooler on that cpu man. I'd stock cool that...
Will be overclocking. Not ideal.
+Science Studio ohhh yeah I forgot you mentioned previously you'd be doing the oc on the bclk...
When I started out I had an i5 4670K at 4.2 GHz on the stock cooler, it'll do if you don't mind seeing 70+ C.
What would you put in a case that small?
Hey! I also collect nearly the same build for myself...wasn't sure about case! Thank you so much for video! I will take this one case! But I plan to overclock the processor...can you propose more powerful cooler please? Any? I planed to buy this one >
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N4OBH92/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
But it won't fit...right?
I just started watching your channel and dude, your videos are addictive. Keep it up!
WTF?? Last time i look at your subscribers, it was 80k. how da hell are you getting subscribers so fast? -_-
btw, why did you keep all those PC? (the tempered glass case that you recently build and this one)
i thought it was for your friends.
They are.
Subscriber counts tend to increase exponentially rather than linearly
I was there when you had 9K subs, good to see that you have now over 110K subs now! :)
first?
Looks like it.
For any casual gamer, this is a great gaming setup without the fuss of a massive tower! Loved it.
I very much liked downsizing from a mid-tower to an mATX cube.
yeah i have watched alot of youtube builds and this is actually the first that i have enjoyed.
You guys kept it real
the others are just putting hella expensive stuffs or if they say its a budjet build they gonna put chity stuffs
Thumb UP guys
Dude been watching your videos all day, really impressed by the quality. keep up the good work
Thanks for watching!
I'm really impressed with the growth of your channel. I'm sure the quality & frequency of videos is a big reason, but could you possibly make video listing what things you have done to be such a rapidly growing channel?
Aw man, i miss so much build a new PC! Great work Greg and other guy! Great vídeo!
Keep using the background music, it's awesome! ;)
god i remembered 6-7 months ago, you had like 300 sub, look at you now, congratulation :o
I have found after many a PC build and cramped fingers, that if you fit the front panel wires before even mounting the board in the chassis, it makes the build that much easier. you can also sometimes route that FP cable UNDER the motherboard for a cleaner install.
I'd love to see you guys push the boundaries and liquid cool a more beast mode one of these!!!
just noticed youve grown like 30k growers over night. good job man
Glad to see someone representing the hometown Lafayette!
I'm planning on stuffing that exact Gigabyte motherboard into a Define-Nano S soon so it's great to see how you've installed everything in it .
Nice looking system. I'm thinking of building something very similar for a colleague at work within the next few months when he's raised the cash for it. Your video really helped. Been watching for a while and your doing an awesome job promise :) keep it up !!
your channel is growing pretty fast, I subbed at around 60k-ish
YOOOO!!! You said nothing about grounding yourself out before starting! Better safe than sorry! Also, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that hates messing with those cable leads.
is this case still the best for mini itx? and by best I mean takes up the least amount of space. Saw the dan case looks awesome but not available.
I built a PC in July using this Fractal Design Node 202. I won't recommend anyone, expert and amateur alike, to build in this case. Great name choice Salazar! I was looking for you for a moment as I could not remember the Sci Fi -ish name!
I really enjoyed watching your hand and finger(s) tapping or patting the components. Reminded me of the Asian kid from UP when he points out the missing patch.

building in the node 202 is such a pain in the ass, but it is so worth it. Such a nice small form factor case
I agree.
Thanks for using the song again.. It's beautiful.

Great video. I've some old parts from my preview setup and I've been thinking in doing something like this. Btw, I'd say a modular power supply would've been better in order to avoid all cables resting arround the motherboard. It makes the airflow more fluent as you already know.
yay! I was just about to order a fractal node. Thanks for the video it def. helped me out.
Very smart to go for blower style GPU
You're a really awesome youtuber. Keep it up mate!
Gorgeous case, I've been shilling it on youtube for a long time.
Great build Greg! :D
Looking forward to more!
Nice build. Only thing I would add is that it's a good idea to turn it on and visually confirm that all of the fans are running and unobstructed before closing up the case.
could you show some benchmarks
Already have benchmarks of a nearly identical combo.
oh ok thanks
+10$ and you could get 16GB ddr :)
Not needed. Verified in the next video I'm uploading.
whats difference between asus gtx 1060 strix, dual, and turbo???
Could have use soe cheaper motherboard instead of this z170
How about listening to what I say in the video?
Why does no one mention the os

thank you i get an i5 6600k
youcef adimi good choice, I'm stuck with an fx 4350 atm lol
time to upgrade bro
youcef adimi I have no $$
so how do temps compare when compared to a normal atx case
The Scorpio is the same way. Upgradable!
I would bump up the processor for downgrading the mobo. You dont need a Z170. B or H would do just fine.
Can you place a Hard Drive & SSD in this case?
its not shove its push into place.
You can't consider a 1tb hard drive as the case doesn't support 3.5" drives.
Can u insert a pc partpicker link ?
+Science Studio What tubes did you use for your deepcool captain cpu cooler?
Mind giving some info on the temperatures?
No mechanic storage drive? Is there enough space for it? If yes which do you suggest?

Thanks again!
in brazil this pc will cust about 5.000R$

Could you run a benchmarks test on this awesome pc build of yours?
Great RUclips series and fantastic high quality content. One question- could I do video editing with this type of a PC, or would it be better to stick with an ATX format?
