- Several police officers were called to Edgewater Beach for another incident Thursday night. It comes as there is an increased focus on safety following a shootout back in June and another incident last month.
Another example of why we can't have nice things here. Edgewater has become just an extension of the East Side.

Here's the solution. Fence off Edgewater and require a paid membership to enter the park just as you would a Community Recreation Center. People entering would need to show their identification when entering. People would be recorded on security camera as they entered and presented their ID card.
Parents should be charged with a fine for they kids not being home that’s called neglect and for the ones who is grown fine them this is not fair for good family’s that want to enjoy the area
You can't charge someone for a crime that doesn't exist. Being a parent of a thug unfortunately, isn't against the law. Being a crappy parent isn't against the law either, unless something specific like abuse happens. Unless the "parents" are partaking in a crime with the cretins, they have committed no crime. Edge water has been getting worse for the last 20 years.
Exactly why we stay away from edgewater. I'll stick to Westlake, Bay Village, and Avon. My kids have no idea that they live near such an awful, unsafe place. It's hard work but well worth it. If you're in the Cleveland area, we can all agree that moving west and south are safe. To live anywhere in Cleveland or in the "east suburbs" just isn't worth the risk. These are the usual suspects causing the usual crimes. What a shame. The city built this beautiful area that no one who contributed to paying for it gets to enjoy. That's Cleveland.

Meanwhile a man from Avon Lake murdered his entire family AND ONE OF THE DOGS! as well as a woman being stabbed to death in her home in Strongsville (these people looked ALOT like you!) as well as EVERY MASS SHOOTER! typically/USUALLY are of a LIGHTER BREED! the point is CRIME CAN HAPPEN ANY & EVERYWHERE! not just by blacks & latinos... and not only in the inner city! it happens in the suburbs too!

I lived at the 12000 for eleven years and walked to the park a couple of times a week. It was not a part of Metro parks at that time, but I never saw anything that made me feel unsafe. So sad that it should have gotten better and it got bad, I don't go there anymore.
