We have been to Amber Cove 4 times and will be back in July. We normally do the pool and the waterslides. We have done the water falls shore excursion. It was a blast! My wife enjoyed having her feet nibbled on by the little fish in the tanks not far from the pool.
That sounds like so much fun (the waterfalls and the nibbling fish!). The pool area is very nice, I do wish there was at least a small beach in the complex, but as I say in the vlog, it’s still darn nice and tropical!
Happy to subscribe, nicely done! We have booked an ocean cabana for our summer 2024 cruise already because we heard they sell out WAY in advance. Glad we have one and looking forward to it. Something different for us.
Thank you! I have not yet done a cabana room, but I will have my first one on the Carnival Venezia a week from today! I think it will be great for you to have an ocean cabana on the Mardi Gras as the outdoor lounging areas can get crowded-when I’ve been in the Ocean Suites on the Mardi Gras, I’m always looking down on the cabana terraces and they look very nice!
@@CruisingWithDee Oh sorry 😬 I wasn’t clear lol, I meant the cabanas at amber cove. Haha I’m still very excited. Maybe I’ll be fortunate to also get one of the cabana rooms on the ship you mentioned. I’m sure you’ll love yours. Enjoy!
LOL! Totally my fault; I was answering a question on a Mardi Gras vlog, then saw your comment and my brain didn’t switch to Amber Cove! Ooh an Ocean Cabana at Amber Cove! Those are so beautiful; I can’t wait to hear all about it!
Our first time on Carnival (Dec 30!) and also first time to Amber Cove as well as Turks & Caicos. We have been to Dominican on land vacations though. As far as a beach excursion, do you recommend going through the ship or just taking a taxi to one? Same thing for Grand Turk?
For Grand Turk, you absolutely don’t need an excursion! Just walk off the hip to the left and walk on the beach. If you like a busy beach scene, there is Margaritaville. If you like it quieter, I like walking further to Jack’s Shack, where you can get chairs and umbrellas, food, and drink. As for Dominican Republic, that is harder to say. As for a beach, you can do it either way. There are several Carnival excursions to beaches. If you prefer to do it by yourself, its completely doable-for instance, Costambar beach via taxi; it’s less than 20 minutes away. I haven’t been there, but other cruisers have told me it is pretty nice and also safe. Sousa is a fun beach but way too far from the port, like an hour in traffic. I hope that helps, and enjoy your first Carnival cruise!
@@CruisingWithDee Thank you! I would have thought the opposite so glad I asked! If we do a beach day I’d prefer more quiet and further from the ship. Undecided on Amber Cove still.
Yes-we could have gone to the Main Amber Museum if we had wanted to; our whole group didn’t want to spend that much time, and we wanted to buy some of the homemade jewelry at the other place. Tour guide will do whatever you want if its within the time limit of the tour.
Dominican Peso, but I have used credit cards while at that port and so haven’t exchanged any currency, and ALSO if you stay in the Amber Cove port area, USD is also accepted.
Nice summary of options to consider at this port! Thank you!❤
You ae very welcome! One of my favorite ports thanks to all the options and the great pool area!

Was there any reason why didn’t get to go to the Main Amber Museum? Were the tour guides on the van accommodating to the places you wanted to visit?

Thank you so much for the info. I really appreciate it. Love your videos!
@@edwinojedis Thank you so much!
Is that Father Christmas in the background?
It is! Good eyes.
Hey what kind of currency
