  • Is there really anything to do in Amber Cove? I will share with you some fun things that you can do at the port in Amber Cove and even some shore excursions you can book as well.
Plus, a look at if you should book your excursions with your cruise line or wait till you get to the port.

We went to Monkey land on an excursion and had a great time. You spend ample time with the monkeys, its not a quick in and out The monkeys will sit on your head and eat or on your lap etc. One thing they dont tell you in the excursion brochure is that youre likely to get pooped on. So brink a trash bag or rain coat you can cover yourself in. They are small monkeys and they poop very small but still.... you know! So bring a raincoat and enjoy. Youll have fun!

Oh my goodness!! That is great advice! Thank you so much for this, and I will definitely be sure to bring a raincoat with us when we go.

This video was extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to tell us more about the excursions and pools. My son wanted to go zip lining and I didn't necessarily want to do it. I'm glad there is an option for zip lining right at the pool area.

FYI. Not only Carnival anchors in Amber Cove, Eurodam, NCL and others use it as Port-O- Call. Thanks for the video…

Thank you, I appreciate the information. I was told only Carnival owned ships ported there. That’s good to know NCL goes there as well. Thank you.

No need for an excursion the te ! With the pool and shopping that’s all you need . We loved amber cove ! We did try the beach nextdoor to the port. It was only $7 one way in a taxi to get there . Too far for me to walk with towels and water and a bad foot ! Beautiful beach with lounge chairs and local vendors, food and drinks. Would love more time there !

I completely agree with you! There is plenty to do at the port without an excursion. I will have to check out the beach next time. Thanks for the feedback.

How do you pay for the zip lines at Amber Cove?

There’s a little booth when you first come in to the pool area that you can pay for it.

I agree. I get tired of the same things at all the ports and the jewelry stores. That's why I try to find things outside the port to do sometimes, but here, we really enjoyed playing in the water with a hydro bike, having a drink, and lounging in the hammocks before heading back to the ship. I may look at renting a cabana the next time we go.
